LAGOTTO ROMAGNOLO
JUNIOR (1, 0 abs)
1 Phillips’ Arcticbreeze Kiss Chase. BPIB.
9 months old with tightly curled brown coat. Loved her shape, balanced outline, fairly broad head carried well on shortish neck. Super shoulder angulation, matching stifles. Pleasing body properties, well sprung ribs, short loin. Excellent bone, happy disposition, free flowing gait, well handled.
POST GRADUATE (2, 0 abs)
1 Bell’s Il Granaio Dei Malatesta Valeria Velez of Pendlebrier (Imp ITA) JW.
Compact body and tight coat, feminine head, warm, attentive expression. Fairly short neck set well into straight top line. Moved actively but did not have the same reach or drive as the BOB winner, would have preferred more angulation. Well handled and a positive attitude.
2 Arcticbreeze On The Double (AI).
Longer in loin than 1st but better angulation. He lacked power on the move, but was well handled and had beautifully presented brown coat. Masculine head with prominent eyebrow arches and intelligent expression. Adequate bone, nicely webbed feet, correct slight slope of top line, well developed rib cage.
OPEN (1, 0 abs)
1 Bond & Rawlinson’s Spencer Tracy. BOB. G3.
This mature male was in superb condition, he was fit and well muscled, moved with power, reach and drive, had accurate footfall. Excellent coat and presentation, expertly handled. Loved his head and expression, large eyes and strong muzzle. Pleasing lay of shoulder, his top line, rib cage and loin felt good, he was straight fore and aft with oval bone, just sometimes he sank into his stifles on the move.
COCKER SPANIEL
PUPPY (1, 1 abs)
JUNIOR (1, 0 abs)
1 Sutton’s Shirepark Fly Me To The Moon.
Well presented blue roan coat on this 15 month old male. Masculine head, good muzzle, kind eye, muscular neck set into level top line, excellent well sprung ribs, pleasing length to rib cage, liked ratio of length of body to height. Just would have preferred more strength behind when moving away, very kind handler got the best from him.
POST GRADUATE (3, 1 abs)
1 Kita-Oakes & Oakes’ Ludzska Royal Quest.
Lots to like, masculine head, gentle expression from dark brown eyes, well developed skull, strong muzzle. Clean outline, equal angulation, strong neck, prominent breastbone, well ribbed back, straight legs, quality bone, cat-like feet. Hind pasterns slightly longer than ideal, and this showed in his movement when going away, he tended towards slight cow hocks. Beautifully presented blue roan coat.
2 Bayliss’ I Will Be In The Morning Light (Imp HUN).
Loved the shape of this blue roan female, she was feminine but sturdy, sweet natured and merry on the move. Broad skull, obvious stop, strong muzzle, sweet expression marred by slight calf lick. Moderate neck, well laid shoulders, straight front, impressive rib cage, deep body, very well bent stifles, would have preferred a tidier mouth.
OPEN (2, 1 abs)
1 Norris’ Joaldy Mr Happy at Amaranth ShCEx. BOB.
Well presented black coat and sturdy all through. This male impressed greatly, excellent angulation, good bone, cat-like feet, movement straight and true going away and coming towards, displayed true Cocker merry character. Quality head, kind eye, well developed skull, deep muzzle. Neck set beautifully into sloping shoulders, firm chest, plenty of depth of body, very good spring of rib, strong loin. Expertly handled. For me, he just would benefit from losing a couple of pounds in weight.
FLAT COATED RETRIEVER
POST GRADUATE (1, 0 abs)
1 Prior’s Blacktoft Avelino at Finnashember. BOB.
Black coated female in hard condition with excellent muscle tone. Loved her proportions, balanced outline, deep body and ideal length of leg. Well shaped head with the most beautiful expression. Clean neck well set into sloping shoulders, level top line, well ribbed back. Straight front, very good bone, strong round feet, pleasing width across thigh, just enough turn of stifle. Moved with good reach and drive, looked good in profile. Obviously adored her kind handler.
OPEN
1 Buckley’s Blacktoft Brindisi by Buckleyhill.
Dense black coat on this well presented male. Quality head, fairly long and well moulded, intelligent expression from kind eye. Neck flowed beautifully into shoulders and top line, deep chest and prominent breastbone, elbows neatly tucked in. Deep rib cage with good spring, short loin, adequate bend of stifle. Front not as straight as winner of PG, and his movement was not as free or as powerful today. Preferred the balance of length of leg to depth of body of the PG winner.

1 Lockett’s Winterwell Monet’s Magic of Fayemm (AI).
Liver coloured female, won here on balanced outline and attractive shape. Clean cut head, expression alert and ready to please, strong muzzle. Slightly arched neck set well into firm top line. Deep through brisket but I wouldn’t want any more width of chest. Strong thighs, well bent stifles, well boned legs, strong well padded feet. Well muscled all through, in fit condition and this showed on the move, gait was smooth and effortless. 17 months old and should have a bright future.
2 Sielski’s Orchidstar Ravioli. BPIB. PG3.
Liver and white male, a bit bum high today, but just 7 months old and going through a growing stage at the moment, I am sure this will improve as he matures. Super angulation, straight front and from behind, quality bone, excellent rib cage, short back, wide loin. Sympathetically handled.

A bit unsettled today, and hindquarters not as positive as 1st. Almost square shaped in outline, although would benefit from slightly longer rib cage and slightly shorter loin. Attractive head with chiselling below eyes, strong neck, straight front, strong bone, good depth of brisket, firm broad chest, straight front, strong bone, would have preferred tighter feet. 2 Roberts’ Curlyco Cosmic Girl (Imp FIN). Irish Water Spaniel.
A bit shy today, but she was happy for me to go over her and I found she has excellent qualities. Lovely outline, strong and robust appearance, good bone, large round feet. Attractive head, good height and width of skull, deep muzzle, alert expression. Compact body, excellent spring of rib, short strong loin. Moved with accuracy, good reach and drive. Expertly handled, well presented crisp curled dark liver coat. She’s only 10 months old, and with more confidence in the ring I am sure she has a bright future.
3 Jones’ Butterfly Hunters Brownie. Hungarian Vizsla.
JUNIOR (3, 1 abs)
1 Bennion’s Menstonia Endless Dreams JW. Welsh Springer Spaniel.
This 15 month old male was just right, lovely make and shape, attractive balanced head with slightly domed skull and strong muzzle. Clean neck, strong body, pleasing spring of rib. Ideal width of chest, but sometimes he stood a bit wide in front, and sometimes he sank into his stifles, but he could not be denied his 1st place. I preferred his balance of angles which helped him drive round the ring from behind and with good reach in front. Beautifully presented and very well handled.
2 Hawkins’ Schonhund Show At The Oscars. Weimaraner.
At 17 months of age he has great depth through brisket and pleasing body properties. Level top line, slight slope of croup, well set on tail, well sprung ribs. A handy sized male, good bone, oval feet. Rather more angulation at stifle than I would like, he stands over a lot of ground. Would like to see him move in a large outdoor ring, today he lacked some rear drive.
POST GRADUATE (7, 1 w/d)
1 Bell’s Brent Deville’s Advocate at Owlspoint (AI). Pointer. Best AVNSC Gundog. G1.
Symmetrical, strong and well knit, flows beautifully from one feature to the next, really liked his shapely outline, strong oval bone, obvious sinews and oval feet. Quality head of equal proportions, bright eyes, kind expression. Shoulders long and sloping, well turned stifles and plenty of width across thighs. Deep brisket, pleasing rib cage with good spring, firm short loin, muscular hind quarters, legs parallel from behind. Black and white coat, strode out well and was handled to perfection by able and sympathetic handler. Tail carriage not the best, but he could not be denied his placings today.
2 Yacoub’s Laithmoor’s Felka. Welsh Springer Spaniel.
Expertly handled, willing and eager to please. This well angulated female with symmetrical outline appealed in many ways. Movement was a joy to watch, accurate footfall, very good reach in front and drive from behind. Deep brisket, level top line, nicely sprung rib cage, short coupled. Well boned straight legs, hind pasterns short and strong, round firm feet. Coat and presentation let her down a bit, but still lots to like.
