Russian Black Terrier Club Members Limited Show

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge their Limited show and for their kind hospitality on the day. Thank you to my steward Kirstie who kept me on track and the ring running smoothly. The temperaments of all the dogs on the day was excellent as always. This was the clubs return to the combined fun day and dog show events similar to what they put on when I first took an interest in the breed over 20 years ago, The friendly atmosphere and good sportsmanship on the day made my first judging appointment an absolute joy.

I really enjoyed these baby puppy classes and seeing these youngsters get their first introduction to the show ring.

1st Bull Gunnerbears John Deere

Lovely 5 month old dog, dark oval eye, good overall size and in proportion, front legs straight and parallel, good depth of chest, level top line with short arched loin. Legs moved in straight line. Well handled and presented in great condition with lovely puppy coat. BEST BABY PUPPY IN SHOW

1st Mercer Gunnerbears Fastrac to Larkharbour

5 month old bitch of good size, head in proportion to body with strong neck flowing into topline at 45 degrees. Correct front angulation with chest level with elbow, rump sloping towards tail and good well bent stifle.

2nd Pawley & Brass Gunnerbears Fendt

Sister of 1st place, smaller than siblings but well balanced, just over square with level topline, correct oval eye and good bite. Nice tail set with good front and rear angulation. Preferred movement of 1st on the day but this may change in the future.

1st Smiths Omiant Arthas

2 year old of good size and presence giving the imposing look required of the breed, masculine head with dark eye, flat broad skull with strong neck and well-muscled body, Strong topline into broad loin. Nice deep chest, Well angulated rear giving a good outline in profile and while moving around the ring. BEST DOG and RESERVE BEST IN SHOW

2nd Newtons Lintweed Black Lucian

2 ½ year old with good shoulder and strong topline, correct eye and nice ear set, good depth of chest holding elbows close to body with short loin. Correct tail set . Liked his movement but preferred profile of 1st on move and while standing today.

1st Lynnyk Zeus Black Legion

Large and imposing as the breed standard asks, just over square with masculine head and broad skull. Deep chest and well ribbed with good front and rear angulation with low set hock, moved with good reach and drive. RESERVE BEST DOG 

2nd Cleford Kenig Forein Blek Berkut

Another large imposing male with good muscle, well proportioned head with good broad skull. Deep chest with good rib, Well boned with good bend of stifle and low set hocks. A really nice dog in profile but preferred movement of 1st placed dog today.

8 month old of good size who has a lovely profile when standing, head and neck of equal length flowing 45 degrees into nice topline. Dark eye , good depth of chest with good rear angulation and low set hocks. Moved well. BEST PUPPY BITCH and BEST PUPPY IN SHOW

1st O’Donnell Kalaslane Irish Eyes at Neukiebear JA (IKC)

13 month old beautifully presented bitch with attractive head on just over square body, nice flow of neck into topline, depth of chest just below elbow, good dark eye, well boned with correct high tailset. Her handler really got the best out of her strong drive and covered the ground effortlessly. RESERVE BEST BITCH

2nd Lynnyk Legenda Zi Slavnogo Domu at Kawanami

12 month old just out of puppy class with well proportioned head and correct parallel planes, strong neck and well marked withers. Body slightly over square with good angulation front and rear. Level topline and well sprung ribs. Moved well with good drive but not as good as 1st today.

Beale Dromnagus Hypnotic Poison at Larkharbour

2 ½ well proportioned bitch with feminine head who really stood out for me in profile when standing and on the move. Powerful neck flowing into level topline, well laid shoulder and parallel straight front legs. Good depth of chest and nice rear angulation. She was a joy to watch power around the ring with enthusiasm and ease of covering the ground, excellent bond with her handler who really got the best out of her today. BEST BITCH and BEST IN SHOW

2nd Newton Black Betty Boo

2 ½ year old well proportioned bitch, well angulated front and rear, nice dark eye and good coat with high set correct ears. Short loin with slope to tail. Good bone and moved well.

1st Baldwin Lintweed Black Zamara

3 year old well angulated bitch with neck of good length, strong topline, straight front legs with elbow close to correct depth of chest. Nice tail set Good muscle all over and covered the ground well. Correct oval dark eyes.

2nd Newton Zaznoba Nadezhdinoi Poljany at Lintweed

6 year old well boned bitch, strong muzzle and correct ear carriage, dark eye with good furnishings and feminine look. Strong neck with good muscle all round, well bent stifle but preferred movement of 1st today.

1st Mercer Larkharbour Moriwaki

Nearly 3 year old good sized bitch, nice proportioned feminine head on well muscled neck and shoulders, deep ribcage with elbow close, nice rear angulation. Good bone and moved with good reach and drive. Looked good in profile and presented in well trimmed condition.

2nd

Lynnyk Holodnaya Zhara Vivat Poltava (IMP UKR)

5 year old well sized bitch just over square, good size feminine head with withers marked above topline. Good depth of chest with well sprung rib. Slightly longer in loin than 1st, good rear angulation with low set hock. Looked nice in profile but preferred reach of 1st on the day.
