I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge and Kelly for stewarding. A big thank to you the exhibitors for entering and accepting my decisions. I had a quality line up of dogs.

FINNISH LAPPHUND

Puppy 1:

1st: & BOB, BP: Birk’s SAMITE TAIGA OF SOTKA (IMP EST): 11th month old bitch, Lovely puppy correctly proportioned with clearly defined stop, black pigmentation and correct scissor bite. Nice dark oval eyes. Medium sized erect ears set well apart, used well. Good shoulder forming correct angulation with upper arm. Good straight back with moderate spring of rib, well developed forechest for age, correct in length proportions. Strong hind quarters, with straight parallel legs, good tail carriage and moved well. This lady will be one to watch out for.

Post Grad 1 (1abs):

Open 1:

1st & RBOB: Birk’s PAVOSKAS GALENA: Nice girl with correctly proportioned feminine head with correct pigmentation for coat colour. Oval eyes set well to give soft expression. Medium sized ears, well set apart standing erect, used well. Has correct dentition. Well boned, correct top line and body of correct proportions. Strong hind assembly legs straight but did occasionally stand a little wide today which cost her in the challenge. Tail correctly set with good coat furnishing. Moved briskly round the ring.

CHIHUAHUA (LONG COAT)

Puppy – no entries.

Junior 1:

1st:BP RBOB Schmid & Light’s CHANTICO ROCK STAR AT CHANTIBBAR: A very spirited youngster. Has correct head with well-rounded skull, defined stop, correct scissor bite. Large, dark, round eyes well set. Large ears correctly set at a 45-degree angle. A medium length neck, leading into well laid-back shoulders. Back level, longer than tall, perhaps a little on the long side, though he is a growing puppy so this may rectify as he matures. High set tail carried over back and remained in place when moving.

Post Grad 1:

1st: BOB Schmid& Light’s CHANTICOS LIL MISS MEUFFET: Feminine head with correct apple domed skull, moderately short muzzle with definite stop. Correct large, round, dark eyes. Ears correctly set. Good, proportioned body with well laid shoulder, level back with muscular hind quarters, high set tail which was carried correctly. Pleased to see this girl went on to get Group 4.

POMERANIAN

Puppy 2:

1st RBOB & BP: Holman’s WILLOW WISPERS AT ALTINA: Cream 6th month old female. This youngster gave me goosebumps as she walked in the ring, for such a young girl she is really outward going, lively and intelligent. Lovely foxy head correctly proportioned to her muzzle, lovely black pigmentation. Medium, slightly oval eyes set correctly to add to her intelligent expression. Small ears well set and perfectly carried. Correct scissor bite. Short neck that is set well into her well laid-back shoulders. Fine boned legs in proportion to body. Short back, well-rounded barrel, tell high set and carried correctly, correct brisk mover. This girl has a fantastic future ahead of her. Please to see she later went on to win Puppy Group 1.

2nd : Brown’s FABLE THE SMALL STEP AT YANIMAS (IMP) (NAF, TAF). Seven-month orange male. As often the case with males this boy did not have quite the maturity of one. Lovely orange colour and coat at correct stage for his age. Foxy head with keen and intelligent expression, skull and muscle of correct proportions with black pigmentation. Slightly Oval medium sized dark eyes, correct dentition. Small, erect ears correctly set. Short neck well set. Short and compact well ribbed. Tell set high and has profuse coat.

Junior 2 (1 abs)

1st: Holman’s EMMETT THE SMAL STEPS AT ALTINA (IMP KKC). Orange male fine boned medium length of leg. Short back with compact body. Tail well set with profuse correct coat. Foxy head of correct proportions with black pigmentation, intelligent oval eyes of medium size, small ears well set and correct scissor bit.

Post Grad 3:

1st & BOB Holman’s DIVINITY A TOUCH OF BROOKLYN AT ALTINA.

 Very striking orange sable male of 13 months of age. Square and compact. Lovely foxy head with slightly flat skull in correct proportion to muzzle. Correct size and shape eye dark in colour with intelligent expression, small ears correctly set, correct scissor bite. Well laid-back shoulders leading to short back which creates a compact outline. Well ribbed, reasonably deep chest in proportion to rest of body. Lovely straight rear assembly. Cat like feet, profuse plume of coat on high set well carried tail. This dog moves briskly and freely. Please to award him best of breed but he was very hard pushed by the puppy. So pleased to see this dog win Group 1

2nd : Brown’s ALTINA ARIZONA AT YANIMAS: 2.5yr year orange female. Deep orange in colour this girl has a foxy head with an intelligent expression, nice size and shape of eye however I preferred the eye set of 1. The girl is short of back and presents a compact picture.

Open 3 (2abs)

1st Holman’s DIVINITY RISING FROM ASHES AT ALTINA: 20-month orange male. Head with slightly flat skull, correct muzzle to skull proportions. Correctly set medium dark eye, small ears slightly wider set. Short neck well set into shoulders. Short back with compact body, well-rounded barrel. Profusely covered tail with long harsh coat. Moved well.

WALLY TOPHAM MEMORIAL A.V. OPEN STAKES 24 (16 abs).

1st: Catling’s LOTTALOVE NORDIC GYPSY KING (Boxer): Striking, well-muscled 12mth old male, of correct proportions. Correct head leading to a strong, muscular neck. Moved freely covering the ground easily, using his muscular hind to drive him.

2nd: Buckles KARSHOK AMRA JETSANG (Tibetan Terrier): Balanced male, head of correct proportions, with good pigmentation and correct dentition. Strong, medium length neck leading to well laid shoulders. Nice level topline which he held well on the move. His gait was smooth and effortless.
