I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for my invite to judge Stakes and BIS at this show and to the Exhibitors who waited patiently for the ring to become available mid afternoon for judging to commence. Many thanks to my stewards Claudia and Daisy who kept everything moving along nicely.

What a wonderful line up of group winners, who were an absolute pleasure to judge , however there could only be one for the top spot and the BIS honours went to the Greyhound, Boggia & Graham’s Rubicon’s Songbird by Boughton (imp USA) who caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring for her clean lines , elegance and effortless movement. Lovely Blue Brindle fine coat in gleaming condition. Clean in head and elegant well arched neck leading to muscular shoulders. Deep in rib, Shapely topline. Well-muscled powerful hindquarters.

RBIS Hill-Lonergan & Duff’s Lhasa Apso, Jodak’s Party All Night with Barnlou, another who did not put a foot wrong in this lineup . Sturdily build bitch of good proportion. Feminine head with aloof expression. Good length of neck. Well laid shoulders. Held her level topline on the move, well placed tail with enough behind. Presented in excellent coat and moved freely with purpose.

BPIS – Scott’s Sophtspot Whirlwind 11mth old Black Spotted Dalmatian what a stunning puppy. She is ultra feminine with excellent balance. Clean in head with good proportions. Nice arch to her neck which leads to well laid shoulders and a clean forequarter assembly. Well ribbed back and has a lovely firm topline and an complimenting underline, she is a picture in profile. Muscular in thigh and hocks are well defined and straight. On the move she covers the ground with powerful long stride. Loved her.

RBPIS Hawkins’ Mellhawk Azizam – Boxer 10mth old Brindle and White dog. Masculine in head with good length of muzzle, clean in lip and open nostrils. Well off for bone on his straight front , tight in pasterns and well arched tidy feet. Strong shapely neck of good length. Sloping topline, short muscular loin. Good in hind angulation and has muscular thighs. Moved out with good reach and drive.

What a privilege to have such a wonderful line up of Veterans, they were all a credit to their owners. My BVIS was Davidson-Postron’s Papillion, Ch/IR/NLD/Int Ch Spinillons Rebel Rowser JW SHCM CW14 VW ShCEx Rom VCH. I found it hard to believe this little Black and White boy is 15 years young, what an absolute star and presented in fabulous condition. Lovely in head with gleaming dark eye giving him an intelligent expression. Large well placed ears. Balanced in body with good angles fore and hind. So sound on the move and in temperament, did not stop showing from start to finish.

RBVIS Coldwell’s CH/JSY CH Zentaur This Is Jam Hot (AI) JW ShCEx OSW – Newfoundland 7 yr old Brown Bitch feminine but with substance and well off for bone. Broad in head with well-placed eyes and kind expression. Balanced in profile with strong topline and nice rounding of croup. Moved effortlessly around the ring.

AV Minor Puppy Stakes

1st Dean’s Amorevita Diamonds in Sky, Miniature Schnauzer Smart 6mth old Black Bitch. Head of good length, dark eye, well set ears of correct shape and size. Shapely neck leading to well laid shoulders, straight well boned front , compact in body and level topline which she maintained on the move. Moved out with free and easy action.

2nd Mann & Harvey’s Charabecca Levi’s Luckiest - Miniature Poodle. 6mth old Black male. Has the required length to head, darkest of eyes, decent shape to muzzle with tight fitting lips and well defined chin and it is carried high on neck. Straight in front with neat feet. Short in back. Good bend at stifle, well-schooled and moved with plenty of drive.

1st Scott’s Sophtspot Whirlwind (Dalmatian) See BPIS

2nd Lahood’s Starceylon Polifemo ( Whippet) Fawn Brindle Male 10mths Long and lean in head with good width between eyes, kind, and gentle expression. Straight boned in front with well arched feet. Elegant flowing lines in profile , strong in loin and well tucked up. Well angulated and muscled hind. Moved gracefully around ring.

1st Holt’s Cynetkoy River Phoenix PBGV – Happy little chap with lovely temperament and good proportions all over. Slight dome to head, dark eye. Well laid back shoulders and good bone to straight front. Level topline. Deep Chest. moderate angulation behind. Harsh Coat. Moved out freely and well handled.

2nd Parkin’s Fleurfield Henrietta Hayes At Ellapoint Pointer Black and White Bitch. She presents a very elegant picture in profile, nothing overdone. Balanced head properties with correct shape to muzzle and lovely feminine expression. Good length to neck, Straight in front with enough bone. Well ribbed back. Well angulated behind and covers plenty of ground effortless on the move.

1st Webb’s Eltimaris Hip Hip Hooray ShCEx Bearded Collie Presented in good coat condition Balanced head with broad skull and good length and strength of muzzle. Soft Expression. Well angulated in front and behind and has good length to back and strong loin. Lovely balanced male who moved smoothly.

2nd Harris’ Thandiwe Mirrorball Field Spaniel Masculine well chiselled head , clean in eye with correct colour and shape. Well feathered ears. Sloping shoulder , deep in chest and well ribbed back. Moderate angulation behind and low set tail which did not stop wagging. Moved with drive and well handled.

2nd Bryant’s MIddletune Billy The Kid under Misteltein – Shih Tzu Gold Male Sturdy with broad masculine head with good width and depth to muzzle and open nostrils, correct undershot. Well placed dark eyes. Head carried proudly. Well laid shoulder, firm, and level topline. Tail well plumed and carried well over his back. Sound and true in movement coming and going.

Richard Masters Memorial Veteran Stakes

1st Grimes & Watson’s Janeyjimjams Jem Devlin – SCWT 7yr old male who is well balanced in profile and was presented in lovely coat condition. Moderately long skull with strength through muzzle. Well placed ears. Good width to chest and straight boned front. Strong in topline with short loin, good depth to chest. Moved out well, true, and straight coming and going.

2nd Williams & Tanswell’s Nalderhill Aphrodite At Waltzaway – Dalmatian 8yr old Liver Spotted bitch Flat skull with good breath between ears. Good bite. Nice width to chest and good depth. Elbows set close to body. Sloping muscular shoulders, strong and level topline. Muscular hindquarters. Free, sound, and smooth on the move. Presented in good fit condition.

Derek Byrne Memorial Brace Stakes

1st Chapman-Reith’s Smooth Haired Dachshunds – Lovely matched pair who were presented in excellent condition , they moved out well and in unison in all directions.

2nd Charleton’s – Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers – Another lovely pair who complimented each other and were so sound on the move in all directions and at one with their handler.

Open Stakes

1st Chapman-Reith’s Hayvenhund Hissy Fit Smooth Haired Dachshund - Nice type, feminine in head properties with slight arch to skull and correct dark eye. Enough ground clearance. Good in front with prominent fore chest, Strong and straight in topline, well ribbed back. Low straight hocks. Presented in excellent coat and moved out with purpose.

2nd Moorcroft’s Amorevita Uranus JW – Miniature Schnauzer – Black dog masculine in head properties, good length to skull and muzzle , correct in eyebrows. Sturdy body , well laid shoulder, straight in front with good bone with pleasing topline and strong hindquarters , moved out well with good reach and drive. Very well presented and in excellent coat condition.

Champion Stakes

1st Davidson-Poston’s ROM CH/ROM GCH Elena Kolekcja Szuwarka Spinillons JW JCH (IKC) Papillion Tricolour Presented in fabulous condition, head of good proportions with dark eye and sweetest of expressions and symmetrical markings , large heavily fringed ears. Good depth to chest and lovely shape in profile. High set plumed tail. Covers the ground freely and is sound and true coming and going.

2nd Scott’s CH/IR CH Sophtspot La De Da At Belsmard ShCex Dalmatian – Black Spotted bitch feminine in head with good length and breadth to skull. Well placed ears and tight fitting lips. Elegant arch to neck. Pleasing outline so well balanced. Well-muscled hind quarters , moved out with powerful long easy stride.
