The British Rottweiler Association Open Show 2026

Thank you to the BRA committee for inviting me to judge my first breed open show, it’s such an honour and amazing opportunity. Thank you also to my stewards Terri Mason and Kirsty Coats who kept me on the straight and narrow. To all the exhibitors I thank you for entering supporting the club and myself. 

Minor Puppy Dog 1

1st Deltarott Lightnin McQueen Miss S L Daly 

This eight months old puppy is well proportioned and shows great promise. Medium brown eye, well-set ears and good proportions on head. Dentition and mouth pigment correct, tight feet, and correct coat. He has a good body type with a level top line with a good tail set and good underline. Well muscled hind quarters giving the driving power for a purposeful movement.

Junior Dog 2 (1 Absentee)

1st Chantovory’s Wonder Boy Miss C A Moss 

At just 15 months old, there is no mistaking this is a male. He oozes quality and type and has a lot more to come. 

His head is of good proportions, with a defined stop, good width of skull with neat well set ears laying close to his cheeks. Beautiful dark eye of correct shape giving a calm expression. Full dentition and dark mouth. Neck of good length leading into well laid shoulders. Straight, strong pasterns leading to tight feet. He moved with purpose out and back and owned the ring. He showed a very steady side gait in the challenge for BIS. Pleased to award him Best Dog and Best in show

1st Upend Fletcher, Mrs Wendy Steel 

Two year old male maturing nicely. A lovely compact boy of good proportions. Typy head developing well with good eye colour, neat ears, full dentition and dark mouth. Level top line which he held on the move with correct tail set. Excellent texture of coat and good coloured markings. Moved around the ring with good energy; very attentive to his handler. Pleased to award Reserve Best Dog.

2nd Chantavory’s One and Only, Miss C A Moss, 

Four year old male of very good proportions. I have judged this male before and he definitely needs room to move to appreciate the full effect of his reach and drive. He is the type of boy who could work all day. A well put together dog of correction ratios all round. Very attractive, masculine head. Dark eye and mouth pigment. Full dentition. Level top line which was held on the move. Lovely coarse coat with rich markings.

1st Bereyda Elara

Eight months old puppy with good bone for age. Sweet, feminine head with good ear carriage. Full dentition and dark pigmentation in mouth. Good eye shape and colour. Correct coat and markings. Head and body of good overall proportions. A well put together little girl who I’m absolutely sure has good things ahead of her.

1st Chapmeek Tokyo Via Leebee, Mrs B P Lee 

Another lovely nine month old puppy. Well put together of correct proportions throughout giving an overall pleasing silhouette, no mistaking this is a female. She has a sweet kind expression with lovely almond shaped dark eyes, a good width of skull and very neat ears hanging close to her cheeks. Good mouth and nose pigmentation and correct dentition. Good coat and rich markings. Excellent neck with well placed shoulders. Slightly sloping pasterns leading to nice tight feet. Level top line and under line which was held on the move. Well muscled rear with nice angles and a good tail set.

22 months old bitch of good proportions in head and body giving a text book outline of a feminine bitch. Dark eyes, correct well placed ears on a head of good width giving a very pleasing and kind expression. Full dentition, lovely dark nose and mouth pigment. Good front on straight legs leading to slightly sloping pasterns and good feet with correct markings. Level top and under line leading to a good tail set. Well muscled hind quarters with lovely angles. Correct coat and markings. Moved around the ring at a graceful and steady pace with good reach and drive. Pleased to award her

2nd Bereyda New Moon, Mrs A E Sutcliffe

Two year old with dark eyes well set ears, full dentition, dark mouth and nose pigment. Lovely tight feet under correct pasterns. Clean level top line leading to a good tail set, and well muscled hind quarters. Movement on the day was not quite together unfortunately which could have been down to surface or environment but still a very typy lady.

1st, Jezeve Deja Vu Avec Whisperdown, Ms G Courtney-Baughan

2.5 years old of good size and pleasing feminine head. Defined stop and good width between the ears. Today she was not going to show me her alert expression in full but I managed to get a snippet. Her overall ratios were very good, ample fore chest, good length of neck and lay of shoulders leading to level top line and good tail set. Lovely mahogany markings and correct texture of coat. Very nicely angled rear and good definition of muscle. 

2nd, Upend Fizzical, Mrs W Steel 

2 year old litter sister to Limit dog. A compact well proportioned bitch with dark eye, broad skull with well set ears. Good width of muzzle. Very pleasing outline which is well angled throughout. Well muscled rear which she used to power her around the ring. Again very in tune with her handler but was a bit too eager for the bait today making her stand on her toes. 

3rd, Ronmal New Quest, Miss S Fenwick

1st Ch Chantavory’s Je Vous Amie, Eyre & Moss Mrs J & Miss C A 

3 years old. This girl has excellent type and quality. She has all the components that make a very well put together bitch. Lovely dark almond shaped eyes giving a soft and kind expression. Ears are well set and sitting close to her cheeks on an attractive head of good width and strength but still remaining feminine. Strong neck of good length on a powerful front assembly enabling good reach. Sloping pasterns sitting on tight well marked feet. Level top and under line leading to the powerhouse of drive. Moved with purpose. Good tail set, coat of correct texture and markings. Very happy to award her Best Bitch, Reserve Best in Show & Best Opposite Sex

Veteran Bitch 3 (2 Absentees)

1st, Wolfbass Mumma Cita at Kimian Mr and Mrs R Harwood

7 nearly 8 years old that bounced and wiggled like a puppy. She was thoroughly enjoying her day out. A feminine bitch of good size with correct proportions throughout. Kind dark eye, good ears set on a broad skull which had slight wrinkles when alert. She still has a lovely dark mouth and nose. Good coat of correct texture. A strong level top and under line. This lady shows no sign of her age which is a testament to her owners. Good tail set, nice tight feet. Moved with ease around the ring.
