Many thanks to the Officers & Committee for the invitation to judge at their show and for the warm welcome and hospitality on the day.

My thanks to the exhibitors for their entries and their patience waiting to be judged on what was a hot and long day.

My judging was aided by my two very efficient and able stewards Pat Lepley and Russell Shone and my thanks go out to them for their help.

The venue, an equestrian centre, was spacious which allowed for a decent sized ring but I felt unfortunately the floor adversely affected the movement of some exhibits.

Australian Shepherd

1 Hodges Jopium Relight My Fire. 6mth old bitch red with white markings. Balanced head proportions, dark eye, strong jaw and correct bite. Clean, moderate neck, shoulder placement and angulation OK, enough rib and strong loin. Strong bone. At this stage is a bit high on the hindquarters but this should settle as she grows into herself. Presented in good body condition and moved well. Best Puppy In Breed

1 Turnbull Liskarn You Never Know with Jenkova. A lot to like about this 13mth red merle dog. Is of good size and with correct height to length proportions, strong level topline held both on the stand and move.  Masculine head with good width of skull and balance with muzzle, eye tones well with coat, strong muzzle and correct bite. Enough neck and flows well into well angulated shoulders. Well handled and presented and has a free,easy gait. Best of Breed.

1. Simpson Lamintone For The Drive at Applecreek RL2 EX 3yr old black tri male. Liked his size and body proportions and has a typical outline. Head has a decent balance skull to muzzle, dark eye, correct ear set and correct bite, for me would prefer more strength in the muzzle. Shoulders are well placed, rib of decent length and depth.   Presented in good coat and body condition.

1 Roberts Ch Magical Love Elvikam JW OSW VW (Imp Pol). 7yr old bitch red with white markings. Well handled and presented. Liked her head for balance between skull and muzzle, width of skull, set of eyes and ears and correct bite. Neck has enough length and flows well into shoulders that are well angulated. Strong through the top line coming from length of rib and strength of loin. Good strength in hindquarters and low hocks. Moved well.

2 Hodges Ch Jopium Dark and Demure JW. 2yr old black tri bitch. Attractive outline, presented in excellent coat and body condition and very close up to 1 but just preferred the head and shoulder placement of 1.

1 Fulton Ch Prima Enso Borea for Cordante (Imp Ltu).7yr old rusty black dog,  A worthy champion who looked sturdy, square with slight rise in backline to the tail and is covered in a profuse corded coat. Head with slightly domed skull, dark eyes and pigmentation, strong muzzle and correct bite. Neck merges well into well placed shoulders, good depth of rib and short loin. Rear well muscled and hocks set low. Moved with a short stepping, quick and light footed movement. Best Of Breed & Pastoral Group 1

1 Stevenson Peregos Lone Ranger. Fawn dog with typical outline, lacking some confidence and not making the best of himself but with decent conformation. Liked his strength of head and proportions skull to muzzle, has a dark eye and good pigmentation.  Correct bite. Enough length of neck, front and rear angulation compliment each other. Rib with enough length and spring. On the move when concentrating he showed a smooth and free gait that his construction suggested he was capable of. Best of Breed

1 Stevenson Moasdileas Hen Broon. 5yr old black dog. Not appearing to be enjoying his day and not showing himself to his best advantage. Liked the shape and size of his head with good balance skull to muzzle, high set ears and dark round eyes. Rough coat, medium length but covering the body and showing lots of daylight. A bit reluctant on the move and lacking some freedom of movement.

1 Clark Aateli Koira Vakker Yuna at Lumenico JW (Imp Fra). 2yr old bitch, very feminine, to the lower end of the standard but with everything in proportion. Liked her head which was strong but with refinement, muzzle shorter than length of skull, erect ears well set on, dark eye and enough strength of jaw with correct bite. Decent spring of rib and depth of chest. Enough bone, strong topline, and with body and coat in good condition.  Moved well. Best of Breed.

1 Dunlin Jachelm True North. 8mth old bitch. Liked her size and proportions.  Unfortunately quite uncertain and unsettled today for examination. Head handles well and shoulders well set on and with decent angulation. Moved out well showing reach and drive and a level topline. Best Puppy in Breed 

Yearling (3)

1 Sloan Inverstag Tennessee Whisky. 13 mth dog black with classic markings.  Took my eye for shape, size and proportions. Decent width of skull and correct balance skull to muzzle, ears well set, dark eye and alert expression. Enough strength and length of neck and preferred shoulder placement and angulation to those of 2nd. Moved with freedom, covering the ground well. Best of Breed.

2 Wallbank & Lyon Wizaland Minnie the Moocha at Alsagri. 16mth old Bitch black with white markings. Has a quality head and keen expression. Liked her height to length ratios. Not the angulation of 1 and this showed in her having a less ground covering movement.

1 Sloan Locheil Give Me Love from Inverstag 3yr old bitch black with typical collie markings. Feminine head with intelligent expression, dark eye and using her ears well. Enough length of neck, shoulder placement and angulation ok, level topline with enough length, depth and spring of rib. Moved well enough.

1 Ormsby & Donaldson Revloch Shakira at Kelflyn (IKC). 3yr old bitch. Catches the eye for shape and balance. Head well proportioned and chiselled, ears set high and used well. Enough length of neck, bone and muscle. Liked her depth of chest and length of rib. Firm in topline, front and rear angulation in harmony. Movement brisk but she was quite distracted at time which spoilt her fluidity. Best of Breed

1 Donaldson Ch/Ir Ch Revloch Love Me Do (IKC) ShCM, ShCEx, VW.  11yr old bitch. Bitch with an attractive head and body proportions. Unfortunately starting to feel her age and was losing some body strength and tucking her rear under her on the stand.

1 Donaldson Luavjan’s Moulin Rouge (Imp Ita). 23 mth old bitch.  Maturing along the right lines, good flow to her head, ears well set on, correct bite and enquiring expression. Liked her body proportions, depth of chest and length of rib. Shown in good coat and body condition.  Moved with the required brisk gait.

1 Craig Hawkesflight Wrap It Up. 3yr old dog of good size, square shape and proportions. Head balanced skull to muzzle with nice flow, enough width of skull, correct bite, ears well set on and confident expression. Has enough bone, well muscled, strong backline, enough depth of chest and strong loin.  Movement brisk and with freedom.  Best of Breed.

1 Boyle Timeless Destiny Star Actis Over Barrenclough JW (Imp Pol). 3yr old sable bitch. Head well in proportion to body, wedge shaped with flat skull, flows skull to muzzle with slight stop, would prefer a slightly larger eye. Enough length of neck, depth of chest OK, height to length proportions are fine.

1 Hodges Jopium Follow My Heart JW. 2yr old sable bitch. Liked her size, shape and proportions. Head flows well with mobile ears and dark eyes. Neck of decent length, liked the shoulder placement and angulation. Enough length and depth of rib. On the move was light and free with drive from the rear. Best of Breed

2 Quince Oakley Ice Quenn for Karafaye (Imp Che). 3yr old blue merle bitch. Thought she had a lot of the same qualities as 1 but lost out to the longer reaching front movement of 1.

1 Atkins Zaffiro Bianco at Silvermere. 9yr old Marema bitch. Has good size and off square outline. Well off for bone and in good body condition. Strong yet feminine head, dark eye and well pigmented, correct bite. Decent length and depth of rib with strong loin. Moved freely. Best AVNSC Pastoral

1 Fulton Ch Prima Enso Boreas for Cordante (Imp Ltu), Puli, Repeat 

2 Dodds Bondsmoor  Moonlight Kiss JW, Samoyed. 2yr old bitch. Well off for breed type, typical head and expression, shown in good coat and condition, impressed on the move which was free and balanced.

3 Berry & Clegram Smiddyshaw Here I Go Again, Sheltie. 3yr old shaded sable dog. Liked his size, shape and size. Handled and presented well to get the best from him on the move.

4 Hughes Poolheywood Barney JW, Lancs Heeler 3yr old dog sturdy and athletic in build, good head properties, nice length of back and high set tail, very sound on the move. 

Pastoral Puppy Group

1 Irving Born To Be Your Unicum with Twinan (Imp Hun), Corgi Pembroke. 10mth old dog. Loved his shape and body proportions, strong and low set, in excellent coat and condition. Loved his head and expression with classic foxy shape and super ears. Handled to get the best out of him on the move.

2 Whelan & Young Edglonian Dolly Mixture at Corimist, Sheltie. 7mth sable bitch. Developing on the right lines, confident both on the table and the move. Head handles well and flows from skull to muzzle, has dark eye and correct bite and appealing expression. On the move settled and showing precise front movement and rear drive.

3 Bell Soulbobs Northern Soul Girl, Old English. 8mth old bitch.  Handled and presented in excellent coat and body condition. Liked her cobby outline and pear shaped body.  Good size head for a bitch and strong muzzle, correct bite.  On the move showed good front extension and rear drive

Has feminine head which is balanced skull to muzzle, dark eye, correct bite.  Well placed shoulders with good angulation, decent length of rib, tail well set on and rear angles complimenting front. Correct height to length proportions.  Moved soundly.

1 Helm Annecy’s Mischievious Max. Samoyed 3yr old dog. Thought he was very typical and was shown in excellent coat and muscular body condition. Typical head and “smiley Sammy” expression.  Tail correctly set and carried.  Moved well.

2 Ferguson Mellowdee Soul Man with Lexalby. 2yr old Old English dog. Cobby, masculine dog with profuse coat. In good body condition and with enough bone. Shoulders well placed and angulated. Moved soundly.

1 Aryton Aoibh Skylark. 10yr old Bearded Collie bitch. In lovely coat and condition for her age. Has a broad flat skull, correct balance skull to muzzle, dark eye. Decent length of neck and well placed shoulders.  Enough length of rib and strong loin.  Holds a level topline on the stand and on the move.  Moved freely. 

2 Roberts Troya Elvikam of Dreamtale (Imp Pol) 7yr old red merle Australian Shepherd bitch. Well presented and handled and shown in good condition and with a quality coat. Liked her strong clean neck and well placed shoulders.  Decent length of rib and depth of chest. Moved well.
