WREXHAM & DISTRICT KENNEL SOCIETY 75th Anniversary Premier Open show on 12th September 2026 I would like to thank the society committee and officers for their kind invite to judge at your special premier show, so very well organised, very friendly and a super raffle. Thank you also to the exhibitors for their entries, there were some really lovely dogs and with good presentation. It was lovely to see that many breeds were supported for BOB & BPIB by breed clubs and personal individuals. A huge thank you also to my stewards Simon & Sue for keeping things running so smoothly. BEARDED COLLIE Limit (3&1 WD) 1st Edwards - Breaksea It’s Time at Nellbrook JW. Fawn B of lovely make and shape having a good strong muzzle with correct scissor bite, decent stop with a broad flat square skull, eye colour blending in with her coat which gave her that affectionate look, nice medium size ears, good muscle to a slightly arch of neck flowing to a level top-line, low tail set with well muscled hindlegs, good slope of shoulders straight front legs, with well-padded oval feet. This young lady came floating into the ring really showing of her assets and making her presence felt for all to see, Lovely in profile. BOB & PG2. 2nd Macdonald’s – Corrimist All That Glitters. A blue b with very similar comments to 1st. Good and well balanced. I just loved the her make and shape and was splitting hairs between them. She only lost out on the move and profile in finish as felt 1st had a slightly better flow neck to top-line. Open ( -1A) COLLIE SMOOTH Junior (1) 1st, Thomas - Blamorder Butter Side Down at Mournebrake. 11 months Tri bitch. A lovely feminine lady, She has a nicely moulded muzzle, good scissor bite, flat skull with correct stop, almond shape eye but would prefer a little more obliquely set. Good arched neck onto good lay of shoulders, straight front legs, and low set tail with tail reaching to hocks. Longer in length of body to height ratio. Her ears were used well set on top of her head, but need to settle. She moved out well nice and steady gait. BP Limit (1) 1st Roberts - McClelland Sergeant Pepper. S/W Dog who has well moulded muzzle with correct bite. Nice flat skull, correct stop. Another who I would prefer have a more oblique eye set, and ears a bit erratic but set correctly. Good arch of neck onto well sloped shoulders and upper arm of decent length. Straight front legs onto well-padded oval feet. Nice depth of chest and spring of rib giving plenty of heart room. Reached out well on the move BOB. OPEN (3-2A & 1 rep) 1st Roberts - McCelland Sergeant Pepper. See Limit LANCASHIRE HEELERS Junior (2) 1st, Jones - Barleydust Dare to Dream. 11 months bitch. A very happy puppy very attentive to her owner. She has a lovely muzzle with clean lines, stop and wider flat skull, nice almond shaped dark eyes, using her ears well as needed. Nice tight lips with scissor bite. Nice length of neck merging into well laid shoulders. Elbows tight against ribs which are well sprung. Plenty of bone. Level top-line with well let down hocks and a good turn of stifle. Correct high set tail. Lovely weather resistant coat and her movement was clean and brisk managing the ground well. BP & PPG2 2nd Fairest - Skipest Last of the Mojitos. 10 months dog who has lovely head properties. Good muzzle, stop & backs-skull. Good dentition. Very alert expression. Good depth of chest. Not quite as sound on the move as 1st and needs a bit more time to mature and tighten up on his movement. Limit (4 – 1) 1st Dawes - Ribblespride Don Redro of Daweslean. Dog very alert and attentive to his owner. Good bone and well muscled. Clean in head with a flat skull and correctly placed stop. Lovely dark eye, and well used ears. Good front and rear angulations, lovely depth of chest and holding his top-line on the move with good drive from the rear. I felt he was cleaner on the move and in profile. BOB 2nd Thwaite’s – Tudorbrook Morganna at Ribblespride. A little older than 1st but similar attributes apply. Well put together. I was splitting hairs between them but it went towards youth covering the ground slightly easier. Open (1 – 1a) OLD ENGLISH SHEEPDOG Limit (1) 1st Winsons - Meisan Roly Poly Angelo (JW) This young dog stood alone but was very worthy of his win. He has a nice strong jaw with correct scissor bite, defined stop with eyebrows as required. Length of neck was nicely arched onto well laid shoulders, tight elbows, body quite square in profile. He has good spring of ribs, low hocks, feet small and round and typical roll on the move but was able to see hind feet moving away. Has a typical shaggy coat and undercoat. BOB OPEN (1-1A) SAMOYED. LIMIT (2- 1A) 1st Rojowska - Dynar Lady Slipper to Arcticuno. Bitch who stood alone but a very nice type. Very feminine, she has lovely clean wedged shaped head with good strength of jaw, scissor bite, black nose, deep set dark almond shape eyes, and nicely set erect ears on top of flat skull. Proudly arched neck onto well laid shoulders, straight front legs, and tail with upwards curl to one side, Good bone and well let down hocks, moved nice and steady. BP & PG1 OPEN (3-2A) 1st Rojowska - From Oslo with Snow White Touch of the Sky to Arcticuno. Dog from the same kennel as 1st in previous class. Only 19 months old and so well schooled. Well balanced head typical to type with clean lines, correct scissor bite, dark deep almond shape eyes, Correct stop and flat skull with ears on top. Good arch of neck on well angled shoulders, straight front legs and feet having plenty of hair, thick white coat and undercoat. Moved with ease around the ring. BOB SHETLAND SHEEPDOG PUPPY(1) 1st Sandham - Mohnesee Sky Mistress. 11 months S/W bitch. Nice rounded muzzle, stop in correct place with a flat skull. Using her ears which are set well on top of her head. Nice rounded bone with good body ratios. I would prefer slightly more bend of stifle. BP Junior (0) LIMIT (5) 1st Hughes - Shadowess if I Can Dream at Cochochr. S/W Dog of nice shape and make. Round muzzle with tight lips and correct scissor bite. Clean lines giving a nice wedge shape head and correct stop with a flat skull. Well arched neck onto good lay of shoulder. Straight front legs and h well-padded oval shaped feet. Level top-line with the sweep over loins. Moved steadily. Good fitting coat. RBOB. 2nd Sutherlands - Shougies Starmaker at Suthesley. Tri dog. Good well rounded muzzle with stop mid-point to skull which is nice and flat. Correct scissor bite with tight lips dark almond shape eye. Nicely arched neck onto a good lay shoulder. He appeared a bit wide on the move going away. OPEN (2) 1st Sutherlands - Shelcrest Winter Solstice at Suthesley JW. Shaded S/W dog of lovely make and shape and well balanced. He has a rounded muzzle with scissor bite with tight lips. Enough underjaw and correct stop with lovely flat skull and parallel planes. Well used ears. Good arch of neck onto well laid back shoulders with good upper arm and straight legs. Good depth of rib and well sprung. Held top-line on the move with sweep over loin. Good rear angulation with nice short hocks enhancing drive on movement. BOB & PG4. 2nd Hughes - Afterglow Merino at Cochochr. BM bitch with good colour and markings. She has a well-rounded muzzle, correct stop, good scissor bite. Good layback of shoulder and length to height ratio. A little overweight which affected her movement. WELSH CORGI - (CARDIGAN) Limit/Open (1-1). WELSH CORGI - (PEMBROKE) Limit (-1A) 1st Morris - Hey You Beautiful. Bitch. She has a lovely expression with a nice clean tapered muzzle with good stop and flat skull slightly wide between ears which were being well used and attentive to owner. Good strength of jaw with scissor bite. Good length of neck with well laid back shoulders, straight front legs, with good depth of chest and well sprung ribs. Hind legs well angulated with straight hocks standing. Moved well with level top-line and lovely in profile. BOB OPEN (2-1A) 1st Morris- Dzhimis Olwen Footprint of Russia (IMP RUS ) (NBT ) Bitch. Slightly bigger all over than his kennel mate, but similar features apply. She has nice clean lines all through her head. Good bone. Very alert in expression and attentive to her owner. Good front and rear assembly. I just preferred the profile of her kennel mate on the day. AVNSC PASTORAL PUPPY (1) 1st Davenports - Bohemian Rhaspody Del Baci Di Dama (IMP ITA) Belgian Shepard Dog ( Malinois ) Bitch. I thought her to be a very good example for breed type although only a puppy. Nice length of head balanced and with an alert expression. Good strength of jaw. Well muscled neck of good length. Good bone and depth of chest. Moved freely and powerfully for one so young who I guess can only improve with age. BP Junior (1) 1st Roberts - Bouvibear Emerald Banjo. Catalan Sheepdog. Male. He was very excited on entering the ring. A nice dog with good head properties. He has a well proportioned head, black nose. Dark round eyes, strong underjaw with scissor bite. Neck fitting well into well laid back shoulders and elbows close to the body. Level top-line with slight tuck up. Low set tail and covered the ground well on the move. LIMIT (0) OPEN (3-2A) 1st Davenports - CH Vegas V D Vaardekenshoeve. (IMP BEL) JW. Belgium Shepard Dog (Malinois) Very nice dog of good substance and very agile in appearance. Correct scissor bite strong under-jaw. Lovely eye and used ears to advantage. Good strength of neck. Good bone and lay of shoulder and depth of chest with straight front legs. Powerful rear movement and lovely profile. BOB AV IMPORTED BREED REGISTER OPEN (2-1A) 1st Browns - Tamalden All Eyes On Me (AI ) White Swiss Shepard Dog. Bitch. A well balanced body very elegant in outline. She has a nicely chiselled wedge shape head with dark almond shaped eyes and correctly placed ears on top of head. Good well muscled neck merging into onto a good lay of shoulders. She certainly covered the ground easily on the move. Stood alone but not out of place. BOB PASTORAL GROUP The group was represented by all 22 breeds with the exception being the Welsh Corgi (Cardigan) Wow! What a line up. So impressive with many really nice dogs representing their breed. The 4 winners I found to be to of good breed type. It was lovely to hear the applauding of the winners around the ring at the end. PG1: Blucks - Rosschell Made of Frost. Australian Shepherd. This dog stood out for me. He has this look at me attitude. He was so smooth going around the ring nothing fazed him. His head well balanced, correct scissor bite, strong underjaw with good angulations both front and rear. Level top-line, and good depth of chest. A blue merle of excellent colour. PG2: Edwards - Breaksea It’s Time at Nellbrook JW. Bearded Collie. This girl was also a lovely example of her breed. She floated around the ring, and was a close contender for first place. (see previous notes from breed class) PG3: Webbs - Borderbrook Fire and Flame ShCEx. Border Collie. Male. Very attentive to his owner it was also a joy to see him move so well. A well balanced dog. Attractive head, and alert expression. Lovely to go over with a lovely profile standing. PG4: Sutherlands - Shelcrest Winter Solstice at Suthersley JW. Shetland Sheepdog. This was a lovely dog of which I had judged earlier and found him so worthy of his place. A lovely type and well balanced. (see previous notes from breed class). PASTORAL PUPPY GROUP This was such a pleasure to see so many lovely young hopefuls. PPG1: - Rojowskas - Dynar Lady Slipper to Arcticuno. Samoyed bitch who can only improve with age. A confident young lady who moves out well. (See previous notes from breed class) PPG2: - Jones - Barleydust Dare to Dream. Lancashire Heeler. Bitch. Another I had previously today. A lovely sound girl who is impressive in profile and on the move. PPG3: - Leas - Jerseywood Love in the Dark. Border Collie Bitch with lovely clean head properties and well used ears. Good length of neck onto shoulders. Straight front legs and oval well-padded feet. Good length of body to height ratios. Level top-line on the move with low tail set. Good bend of stifle with well let down hocks. PPG4: - Davenports - Bohemian Rhapsody Dei Baci Di Dama. BSD. A quality puppy and hopefull for the future. (see previous notes from breed class) AV PASTORAL (20-4A) How wonderful to see so many Veterans. I was looking for soundness in comparison with age and breed type. 1st Edwards - CH Nellbrook Pure Imagination (JW VW) Bearded Collie bitch. She stood out for me on her overall breed type, and soundness on the move. Good conformation and so well balanced. Both front and rear action was so smooth free and easy going. She has lovely head with strong under jaw and correct scissor bite. Lovely arch of neck onto level back with well sprung ribs. Straight front legs and well let down hocks. 2nd Samuals – Bridus Ukkonen (ShCM) Finnish Lapphund. Male. This 12 year old was so active and moved like a youngster. He is well balanced and fills all that’s required from the breed standard. Very alert in expression with wedge shaped head. Oval shape eyes. Good bone and substance, and very attentive to his owner. 3rd Webbs - Borderbrook Fire and Flame (ShCEx) Border Collie who won PG3 4th: Rosslyns - Balidorn Golden Amber (ScCEx) Shetland Sheepdog bitch. Very feminine with a sweet expression. She was using her ears all the time. Lovely arched neck onto a good lay of shoulder with good bend of stifle and well-let down hocks, moved effortlessly. VHC: Thwaites - CH Ribblespride Ladytron. Lancashire Heeler. Bitch. I was splitting hairs with this dog. For me she stood out for breed type and character. Clean head. Level topline with close elbows and a good depth of chest and easy action on the move. Judge Tina May
