PUPPY DOG/BITCH (4)

1st – Stephens & Stephens, Electric Paws Lambada At Jasteal (Imp Pol)

A most pleasing and feminine fawn brindle with white trim, shown in excellent condition at 10 months. She presents a long, lean head, flat on top with the slight stop required by the standard, and jaws that are powerful and clean cut. Her oval eyes are bright with a very alert expression. Her ears are rose shaped, small and fine in texture, and well placed. She has a correct and complete scissor bite. Her neck is long, muscular and elegantly arched, flowing smoothly into shoulders that are well laid back with flat muscles and an upper arm of good length, placing the elbow correctly under the withers. Her chest is very deep and well filled in front, with a deep brisket and well sprung ribs. Her back is broad and firm, showing a graceful arch over the loin. She moves with great freedom of action, the forelegs thrown forward and low over the ground, hind legs coming well under the body, holding her topline on the move. Best Puppy.

2nd – Prowse, Freehamlet May Zing Grace

An 11-month-old feminine fawn bitch of lovely overall balance, presenting that desirable combination of muscular power and elegance of outline called for by the standard. Shoulders well laid back. She moved with commendable freedom of action and great ease for her age, the hind legs coming well under the body.

3rd – Pedley-Biggins, Viscar One Night Standards.

POST GRADUATE DOG/BITCH (5)

1st – Little, Saintharp Can't Stop Me Now

A well-balanced silver brindle parti-colour bitch presenting a pleasing combination of muscular power with elegance and grace of outline. Her head is long and lean, flat on top, with a bright, oval, alert eye and rose-shaped ears, small and fine in texture, well set. Her scissor bite is correct and complete. Her neck is long, muscular and elegantly arched, leading into well-laid-back shoulders with a good length of upper arm, placing the elbow correctly under the withers. She has a very deep chest, well filled in front, with a deep brisket, and ribs that are well sprung, giving good heart room. Her loin gives a good impression of strength and power with a definite tuck up. Her movement shows great freedom of action, true coming and going, with the forelegs thrown forward and low, and the hindlegs providing good propelling power. Pleased to award her Reserve Best of Breed.

2nd – Barnesmore, Never Feel Blue

A well-muscled and well-balanced 4-year-old brindle bitch presenting the desirable combination of muscular power and elegance called for by the standard. She has a good depth of chest and a well-filled front, good stifles — well bent without exaggeration — hocks well let down, and a tail of good length, well set and tapering. She moved soundly and with great freedom of action. 3rd – Durante, Duranridge Chic Shadow

LIMIT DOG/BITCH (3)

1st – Sharp, Saintharp Can't Get Enough

A blue brindle parti-colour dog in excellent muscular condition throughout, presenting that balanced combination of muscular power and strength with elegance and grace of outline that the standard asks for. His head is long and lean, flat on top, with a slight stop, powerful and clean-cut jaws, a bright oval eye of alert expression and rose-shaped ears of fine texture, well placed. His neck is long, muscular and elegantly arched, leading into shoulders that are well laid back with flat muscles and an upper arm of good length, placing the elbow correctly under the withers. His chest is very deep with good heart room, well filled in front, with a deep brisket. His back is broad and firm with a graceful arch over the loin, giving a good impression of strength and power with a definite tuck up. His hindquarters are strong and broad across the thighs with well-developed second thighs; stifles well bent without exaggeration, hocks well let down. His feet are oval, with well-arched knuckles and thick pads. His tail is long and tapering, well set, reaching at least to the hock. He moved with great freedom of action, the forelegs thrown forward and low, hind legs coming well under the body to give good propelling power, true coming and going.

2nd – Livsey, Saintharp Love To Believe

A brindle parti-colour dog, litter brother to 1st. The two are an extremely close match, sharing many virtues — a good long lean head with correct oval eye and complete scissor bite, a well-balanced body with a broad, firm back showing a graceful arch over the loin, and a long tapering tail of correct set and length. On this occasion, I preferred 1st for his greater freedom of action on the move.

3rd – Durante, Duranridge Callisto.

OPEN DOG (2)

1st – Sharp, Saintharp Can't Get Enough (Limit Dog/Bitch winner — please refer to notes above)

2nd – Pedley-Biggins, Roys Rocket of Viscar

A 4-year-old light fawn parti-colour dog of good overall balance, presenting a pleasing combination of muscular power and elegance of outline. He has a long, lean head with a correct scissor bite and a good general shape throughout. On this occasion, I preferred 1st for his superior freedom of action and ground-covering stride on the move.

OPEN BITCH (5)

1st – Prowse, Freehamlet Saint Matilda — BEST OF BREED

A most elegant and feminine 4-year-old fawn bitch, representing that ideal balanced combination of muscular power and strength with elegance and grace of outline that is the hallmark of the breed. Her head is long and lean, flat on top, with a slight stop and powerful, clean-cut jaws. Her eyes are oval, bright and of very alert expression, dark in colour. Her ears are rose shaped, small and fine in texture. Her neck is long, muscular and elegantly arched, flowing into shoulders that are well laid back with flat muscles and a well-placed upper arm, so the elbow sits correctly under the withers. Her chest is very deep with plenty of heart room, well filled in front, with a deep brisket and well-sprung ribs. Her back is broad and firm, showing a graceful arch over the loin, which gives a strong impression of power, with a definite tuck up. Her feet are oval with well-arched knuckles and thick pads. Her tail is long and tapering, reaching to the hock, and she carries it in a delicate curve on the move, not raised above the level of the back. Her movement is a joy — possessing great freedom of action, the forelegs thrown forward and low over the ground, the hindlegs coming well under the body, holding her topline throughout and moving true both coming and going. A most deserving Best of Breed.

2nd – Sharp, Chippwhipp Georgie Porgie

A feminine blue brindle bitch of pleasing type. She has a good head with rose-shaped ears, well set. Her shoulders are well laid back with a good length of upper arm, placing the elbow correctly under the withers. She has a very deep chest and her hindquarters show well-bent stifles without exaggeration and hocks well let down, giving balanced angulation front and rear. She is in excellent muscular condition throughout, with a firm topline. She moved soundly and with good freedom of action.

3rd – White, Iscaglades Goldilocks
