1st – Adey’s The Huntress From Sufayre — Reserve Best of Breed

A well-presented tricolour bitch of three years, giving a good overall impression of the breed’s required rectangular, well-proportioned outline, conveying the impression of strength and stamina without any suggestion of heaviness. Her head is longish and rectangular as called for by the Standard, with a well-defined stop and a long, large, rectangular muzzle. Her almond-shaped dark brown eyes carry the calm, tranquil expression required. Her ears are set fairly high, with a soft, straight fall and are correctly raised only slightly above the skull. Her neck is long and powerful, with supple, close-fitting skin, merging well into the shoulder. Her shoulders are muscular and well laid back, with a long upper arm well angulated to the shoulder; her elbows were set slightly loose to the body on this occasion, which is an area for the future, though this did not markedly detract from her overall outline and did not affect her on the move. Her forelegs are straight and parallel when viewed from the front. She has a good depth of chest — as the Standard requires, approximately half her height at the withers — with ribs of moderate spring and proportionately long back ribs. Her back is straight and powerful, with a strong, broad, muscular loin. Her tail is set on correctly low in line with the croup, fairly wide at the base, narrowing to the tip, and reaching to the hock, with good carriage. Her hindquarters are well angulated with broad, well-muscled thighs. She moved freely with the long-reaching stride the Standard calls for, tracking true behind, and showed herself off well throughout. A pleasing bitch who is a good representative of this rare breed. Reserve Best of Breed.

1st – Sadey’s Abon Sfora Nordowskiej Knieji At Rubeusbay (Imp Pol) ShCEx. Best of Breed

A lovely, clearly masculine and well-balanced dog, giving an excellent first impression of the breed’s required rectangular, upstanding outline — strikingly handsome, with the strength and stamina the Standard demands, yet never heavy. His head is longish and rectangular, with a moderately broad, slightly arched skull and a well-defined stop. His almond-shaped dark brown eyes carry the calm, tranquil expression so characteristic of the breed. His ears are set fairly high with a soft, straight fall and are correctly raised only slightly above the skull when alert. He has a long, powerful neck with supple, close-fitting skin, merging smoothly and correctly into well-laid-back, muscular shoulders. His upper arm is long and well angulated to the shoulder, giving him a well-constructed front assembly with straight, parallel forelegs. His elbows were slightly loose at times on this occasion, though this did not affect the quality of his movement, which remained sound and true throughout. He has a good depth of chest, correctly approximately half his height at the withers, with ribs of moderate spring and proportionately long back ribs. His back is straight and powerful, supported by a strong, broad, muscular loin, and his topline is level and firm throughout. His croup is of good length with the correct slight incline. His tail is set correctly low in line with the croup, fairly wide at the base, narrowing towards the tip and reaching the hock, raised but carried correctly below the backline on the move, with a pleasing sabre-like carriage. His hindquarters show good angulation with broad, well-muscled thighs, and he is strong and parallel behind. On the move he covered the ground with the breed’s characteristic free-striding, long-reaching action, with good front extension and strong rear drive, tracking true and moving close neither fore nor aft. Pleased to award him Best of Breed.
