AVNSC Hound

G D/B (4,2) 1. Leigh & Leigh’s Rycol Dylan At Mocharafior, Black bitch puppy of 10 months who presents a very pleasing, houndy outline and displays good overall balance for her age. Though she understandably requires time to fully mature and furnish, she is built on an excellent, well-proportioned frame and looks a highly promising puppy for the future. She possesses a lovely, typical head with a dark, expressive eye and a correct, regular scissor bite. Her long, elegant neck flows cleanly into a fair lay of shoulder, which is complemented by a good length of upper arm. She maintains a level, sturdy topline both standing and, on the move, finishing in a well-set, long tail. An easy, active mover who fully deserved Best AVNSC Hound Puppy.

2. Leigh & Leigh’s Rycol Niamh, Irish Wolfhound. Brindle bitch puppy of 10 months and litter sister to the winner. She remains very raw at this stage, but in a giant breed that takes considerable time to mature, she displays immense promise for the future. She has a beautifully clean head, a dark eye, and a correct scissor bite. Her neck shows fair length, blending into nice shoulder placement with a good length of upper arm. She exhibits a very pleasing overall shape and a sound outline. On the day, she was simply out-moved by her more settled litter sister, but her foundational qualities point to a very bright future once she tightens and matures.

O D/B (4,2) 1. Carter’s Ir Ch Aabidah De Polvo Magico Imp Aut CW2004 CJW 2004 ShCEX, Sloughi. An incredibly lovely, highly feminine shaded masked Sand bitch, who conforms exceptionally well to the requirements of the breed standard. She possesses a beautiful, noble head of correct proportions, featuring a flat skull and a desirable, gentle expression. Her dark, expressive eyes are beautifully set with lovely dark eye rims, and she displays a correct, regular scissor bite with a strong jaw. She presents a very stylish, balanced silhouette that truly epitomizes the noble and elegant character required of a quality Sloughi. She has a very sound, free and easy gait. A beautiful and elegant representative of the breed. Pleased to award her Best AVNSC Hound & Hound group 4.

2. Dunstan & Waterhouse’s Shimalma Disaronno At Tazkindi, Afghan Hound, A gold dog possessing a beautifully balanced head with a lovely dark eye and a correct scissor bite. He scores well in skull properties, showing a prominent occiput. He holds a firm, level topline leading to a typical fall away and prominent hip bones. He has a good depth of chest and was well presented. While I would prefer a touch more lay-back to the shoulder to complete the picture, he went around the ring in a relaxed, easy manner, seemingly enjoying his day out.
