My thanks to the committee for the invitation and to all the exhibitors for their entries, with no absentees! A big thank you to my steward, who kept everything running smoothly.
Lancashire Heeler
Puppy
1st PARABAR PUMPKIN PIE (Musk and Bingham) BP. 11 month dog of good size. Strong head, flat and wide at the top, tapering to muzzle slightly shorter than skull. Correct scissor bite. Erect ears set wide apart. Eyes a little round, but set wide apart. Good neck onto level topline. Good angulation with front pasterns turning out slightly at front with good feet and desired thumbprint present. Rear assembly good, rear pasterns parallel when viewed from behind. Good tail, carried over back. Moved well with brisk action.
Special Yearling
1st KAVALO TOUGHER THAN THE REST (Musk and Bingham) RBOB. Almost 2 year old dog. Strong head with shorter muzzle, scissor bite, broad skull, erect ears, almond eyes. Good neck onto almost level topline and ribcage extending well back. Good angulation front and rear, with slightly turned out front pasterns and hocks well let down, and parallel when viewed from behind. Ample bone throughout. Moved well.
2nd KAVALO DANCING IN THE DARK (Budd) 2 year old bitch. Feminine head with lovely proportions. Erect ears, round eyes, scissor bite, muzzle equal length to skull. Good neck, excellent angulation front and rear, with slightly turned front pasterns and tight elbows. On the move, at times she was uncomfortable on a back leg, possibly due to some grit from the surface between her toes, because she showed good movement elsewhere.
3rd KAVALO GLORY DAYS (Budd)
Limit
1st FOXTHYME UNBELIEVABLE (Moore) 21 month old dog. Beautiful rich tan markings although lacking the thumbprint on the feet. Good muzzle on broad skull with round eyes, erect ears. Short neck over good depth to chest and well angled front and rear. Slightly more compact in shape, would prefer a little more length to the ribs and back, but the best mover in the class.
2nd PARABAR PRIMROSA (Budd) 5 year old red bitch. Feminine head with long muzzle and broad skull, erect ears and almond eyes. Good neck, slight dip in topline and appearing tucked up, although I suspect this was due to the surface. Ribs extending well back, good angulation. On the move, felt she was toeing in a bit from behind.
3rd LANKEELA OUR MARNIE (Musk and Bingham)
Open
1st PARABAR PUZZLING PILOT (Musk and Bingham) BOB. 3 year old dog of good size, oozing masculinity. Very strong head of good proportions. Flat skull, with correct equidistance between nose and occiput at the stop. Erect ears with plenty of space between them, almond eyes, set wide. Moderate neck into well laid shoulders, elbows nicely tight against ribs, yet allowing freedom of movement. Good depth to chest and ribs extending well back. Level topline was firm with good muscle throughout, and tail carried over the back. Lacking the desired thumbprint but good feet. Moved very well with smart, brisk action – could certainly see him doing a days work.
2nd TUDORBROOK HOCUS POCUS (Budd) 5 year old bitch with pale tan markings. Feminine expression, good head, length of body slightly finer in build. Moved well.
Swedish Valhund
Although low in number, both entries were of good quality and I was pleased to see the BOB shortlisted in a very strong Pastoral Group.

Special Yearling
1st AESCWINE COR BLIMEY (Chaplain) RBOB 23 month old dog of good size. Beautiful masculine head creating a blunt wedge shape. Top of skull almost flat with well defined stop. Muzzle to skull almost equal, but square in shape when viewed from side. Well defined mask. Correctly shaped and positioned ears, used well, slightly almond eyes. Scissor bite. Strong neck onto level topline. Tail carried well. Correct angulation at front, with long shoulder blade slightly longer than upper arm. Front legs straight when viewed from side, slightly bent from front to wrap around chest. Well bent stifles at rear, with low hocks. Good bone throughout. Moved well, just needs to tighten up a bit. A lot to like and one I shall watch with interest.
Limit
1st RUSERNS RIFF RAFF (Chaplain) BOB. 4 year old dog of excellent size. Gave his handler a challenge as wanted to get to owner but perseverance paid off. Strong head, forming a blunt wedge, with almost flat, broad skull and well defined stop. Muzzle slightly shorter than skull, strong lower jaw and scissor bite. Pricked ears of medium size with correct texture and slightly almond shaped dark eyes. Well defined mask and harness markings. Good length to neck, in proportion to body, strongly muscled. Shoulders well laid back, with upper arm slightly shorter. Front legs correctly wrapped around chest from the front, but straight from the side. Topline level, with good depth to the chest, oval from the front and elliptical from the side. To the rear, well bent stifles and let down hocks, with good muscle and bone throughout. Once settled, moved with purpose, front legs reaching well forward with matching thrusting action from the rear.
