East Kent Canine Society – 1 February 2026 – Judge Stephen Fellows (Steyndal)

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge utility, group, working group, memorial stakes and BIS at this fantastic show. Thank you to my stewards for keeping the ring running smoothly. I have to say the calm music playing inside the venue made for a quiet day of keeping the dogs calm and content so big well done.

1st CHARABECCA LEVI’S LUCKIEST (Mann & Harvey). (Miniature Poodle). 6 months old black dog with so many qualities. Beautiful head with almond eyes and correct ear leather length. Nicely arched neck into well placed shoulders and level topline with tail set on high. Correct front and rear angulation, which allowed him to flow around the ring. BP.

2nd PRISSIE RED LADY (Moulden & Toms). (Miniature Poodle). 7 months old red bitch with many qualities. Nice feminine head with correct eye shape and bite. Ear leathers of correct length. Beautiful in outline with level topline and correct front and rear angulation. Preferred movement of number 1 today.

1st MARCASITE BONNIE LASS (Miss E Groves), (Standard Poodle). 12 month old silver bitch with all the quality attributes of this breed. Beautiful, feminine head with correct bit and eye shape. Ear leathers of correct length. Nicely arched neck into strong well laid shoulders leading onto level topline and correct tail set. Nicely turned out and moved with drive. Rest best AVNSC.

2nd CHARIDS QUEEN OF HEARTS (Miss C Spanias), (Chow Chow). 13 month old red bitch who was attentive to her handler. Good width to her skull, small thick ears used well. Displayed a good bite and pigment. Decent bone and substance for her size. Balanced all through and moved well.

1st CHARIDS KING OF HEARTS (Miss C Spanias). (Chow Chow). 5 year old red dog with many qualities throughout. Excellent skull, small, thick ears and well filled muzzle. Correct width of front with tight cat feel all around. Correct angulation front and rear. Balanced in profile and moved correctly in all directions. Best AVNSC.

2nd LINDCOLY FEELING FIZZY (Drew & Rotti). (German Spitz Mittel). 16 month old black, balanced bitch who was handler well. Beautiful spitz expression with correct ears, used well. Balanced front assembly with shoulders laid back and level topline. Moved well but was slightly out of coat today.

1st TWYBROOK NOBLE PRINCE AT KOGARAHS (Mrs V Roberts). (Kooikerhondje). 3 year old white with red dog and balanced throughout. Nice feathering and coat condition overall. Excellent head with correct bite. Nice length of neck into correct front assembly and topline with tail set correctly. Front and rear angulation of correct angles allowing him to flow around the ring.

1st KENZDUO AMERICAN PIE FOR TOURMABULL (Miss H Minto). 3 year old red and white bitch with so much star quality and breed type. Balanced and in proportion. Nice brick shaped head with no exaggerations and correct rose ears. Nicely placed nose with big nostrils and a well padded foreface with a great turn of width of underjaw. Good barrel ribs and adequate bone. I loved her round shape. Correct definition of muscle throughout and round hindquarters. She has a slight rise of the loin that she held well on the move. Loved her and was pleased to award her RBIS.

Moved with tremendous drive and displaying perfect coat condition. BOB.

2nd JODAK’S PARTY ALL NIGHT WITH BARNLOU (Lonergan-Hill). 4 year old particolour bitch with plenty of quality. Beautifully turned out with feminine head and dark eye. Nice length of neck into strong withers and good topline. Good front and rear angulation. Moved well.

I loved this class. Two beautiful, quality puppies with a very bright future ahead of them.

1st OLDBASHURST TIME WILL TELL (Mr & Mrs Carver). 7 month old beautiful black dog with star quality. Masculine head with dark eye and ears set correctly. Nicely arched neck into strong shoulders that were well laid back. Sloping topline with correct tailset. Correct angulation front and rear. Beautifully turned out, balanced throughout and moved with perfect reach and drive. I later awarded him PG1 and BPIS.

2nd AMOREVITA DIAMONDS IN SKY (Mrs S Dean). 6 month old, black feminine quality bitch with the most beautiful expression. Dark eye and correct bite. Nice length of neck into well laid shoulders. Sloping topline and correct tailset. Beautifully turned out and moved well.

Masculine head with correct bite, dark eye and ears set close. Strong neck into well defined withers. Sloping topline with correct tailset. Turned out beautifully and moved well. Preferred overall ring presence of number 1 today.

Group 1 JOJAVIK ASSASSIN’S CODE (Dobermann) (Brown, Ingram, Lack). Beautiful dog with ultimate breed type and quality that could not be ignored. Completely in proportion for bone and substance. Beautiful, masculine head with correct length and enough stop. Almond shape eyes of dark colour. Arched neck into well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. Loved his forechest. Correct angles front and rear. His movement was outstanding with correct reach and drive. I look forward to seeing his progression. Group 1 and BEST IN SHOW.

Group 4 NEVAEH MISHKA CHAMPION TANYVSKA (IMP EST) (Leonberger) (Mrs Cherne King). Beautiful, typey dog with the most stunning, masculine head. Gentle expression with dark eye and correct bite. Nice length of neck into strong, well place shoulders. Quality outline on the stand. Good topline and tailset. Moved out well.
