Thank you very much to the officers and committee for the opportunity to judge at this lovely open show and a thanks also goes to my two stewards of the day, Olivia and Lesa.

I was delighted with my entry and consider it a great privilege to go over and assess your dogs. I am very grateful to each exhibitor for giving me that opportunity.

A few observations; the length of the body should be slightly longer than height at the withers, some were over exaggerated and some more square. We should be mindful of the fold in the ears because this is a Havanese trait. Coats should be soft silky wavy or slightly curled and you should be able to see under the coat. 

On a good note all the dogs were presented well with happy personalities. Thank you for your good sportsmanship, I thoroughly enjoyed my day judging some lovely Havanese.

8 month old gold sable. Happy puppy. Handsome head, sturdy 50/50 ratio, well ribbed body, tail set carried correctly over the back, moved well for a young puppy, moving freely.

11 month old sable. Nice length of muzzle, strong head, level back with slight rise over the loin, correct puppy coat, moved well.

23 month old Black and white. Correctly proportioned skull, dark almond eyes and well set ears. Nice black pigment, sweet face, enjoyed his correct jaunty movement, just needs that coat change to come through.

4 year old Red and white. Fabulous head of excellent proportions, dark almond shaped eyes giving a lovely expression, good folds in the ears, adorable face with a nice scissor bite. Great pigment, well made body and great tail set carried over the back in a plume. He’s well put together with correct rise over the loin, impressive on the move.

23 months cream sable. Beautiful strong head, large dark eyes, correct dentition and a nice muzzle. Good reach of neck, nice straight legs, good height and a correct coat. Beautifully presented.

7 1/2 year old Red and white. Striking, good looking dog of correct size, best ear folds of the day, lovely pigment and strong jaw with good scissor bite. Good soft wavy coat with undercoat. Just A little nervous on the move today.

10 1/2 years old striking black and white boy. He’s still looking good for his age, good strong black pigment and a great scissor bite. Handsome head of correct proportions, very dark almond eyes with well set ears, level back with slight rise over the loin. Abundant lovely coat, moved well.

7 1/2 Red sable boy. Nice shape and size, ideal length of muzzle, moderate neck with ear set correct. Good height, correct movement coming and going.

6 month old chocolate and white. Typical havanese puppy, full of life, loved her shape and size for age. Nice pigment for a chocolate with good ears and correct mouth, good length of rib, correct rise over the loin. Will watch this girl with interest to see how she develops.

14 Month old Black and white. A lively girl still very much a puppy but ideal size and shape for her age, great folds in the ears and ideal dentitions, correct black rims and lips. Sweet face, once she settles on the move will be another one I’ll enjoy watching to see how she comes on.

 21 months old Gold Sable. Love her proportions; good head with a typical Havanese expressive face, nice scissor bite, good folds in ears, tail set perfectly carried well over the back, moved around the ring with grace. 

2nd Woolcock Alphapups Bambino 

3 year old cream, lovely shaped skull and dark almond eyes, pigment standing out well on her cream colouring, good length of rib and nice tail set. Good movement, just needs to settle on the move.

2 1/2years, Black and white, ideal size and shape, good shaped skull and dark almond shaped eyes with nice dark pigment. Good length of rib, straight legs, good silky coat with undercoat. Moved around the ring well. 

2nd Walker Trufflemai Star of Sonny At Newtonwood 

2 1/2 years, cream. Another nice bitch with a great shape. Well put together, level back with slight rise over the loin, large dark eyes with correct dentition. Impressive havanese movement, pushed for no 1. On another day placement could change.

2 Year old red and white. Sweet, gentle expressive face with dark almond eyes and well set ears and correct bite. Abundant correct coat, good tail set carried over the back in a great plume, correct jaunty movement coming and going, beautifully presented.

4 1/2 year old cream and white. Correctly proportioned skull, great pigment, good straight legs, sturdy well ribbed body, coat of good texture. A little unsettled on the move today.

8 year old black girl with a touch of white. She is just what I look for in a Havanese; her silhouette caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring. Excellent muzzle with correct scissor bite, well placed ears with correct folds, good straight legs, nice length of rib and correct rise over the loin. Ideal tail set carried well over the back. Her movement is a joy to watch, perfectly presented.

7 1/2 champagne. Another beautiful veteran. Absolutely typical for size and balance, correctly proportioned, lovely skull, large almond shaped eyes and black pigment, good dentition. Tail set carried well, coat soft and wavy with undercoat, seen her move out better, just a little unsettled today but could be a different outcome on another day.

18 months old black and white. On the smaller side but everything in proportion. Great dark pigment and dark eye with a sweet face. Lovely scissor bite and correct coat. Still a young bitch full of life lovely to see will settle in time.
