American Cocker Spaniel

Graduate

1. Jennings & Slack’s Alibama Gossip Girl - beautiful bitch, just over a year old and stood alone but well deserved this placing. Pretty head with well defined stop and dark eyes giving a soft expression. Long clean neck leading to a straight front with good angulation both fore and aft. On the move her good conformation was clear and she went happily round the ring with an ever wagging tail. Her shiny black coat was the icing on the cake. BOB

Cocker Spaniel

Puppy (5, 3abs)

Two young bitches and a difficult decision. 1. Kent’s Laurellakes Mon Amour at Merryvista – 8 month old black bitch, well balanced and compact in outline. Lovely head and gentle expression. Well off for bone and substance with a good bend of stifle. She moved well, if wilfully/naughtily at times, on good neat feet . A little proud of her tail but still young so forgave that. BP 2. Hill’s Clavaire Orange Rose with Princehill – 7 month old pretty headed bitch with gentle expression, plenty of coat over a lovely balanced outline. Another naughty girl who also moved happily on tight feet and although I preferred her tail carriage to that of 1 my final decision was on overall balance and movement.

Balanced outline, well ribbed and strong over loin with good angulation at front and rear. Beautiful silky coat. Wildman’s Wilanorah Perfik Scoundrel at Chanmalo – 18month old blue roan boy who was so typy and on the day showing merry naughtiness. Loved his head which was masculine with distinct stop and expressive dark eyes. Straight front with correct angulation both fore and aft. Well sprung ribs. Happily moved round the ring covering ground well carrying tail correctly. Difficult decision between 1&2. 3. Beckwith’s Balaambeck Oricorio Opla

Pleasing front and rear angulation allowing her to move merrily and with drive on firm feet with a wagging tail. Feminine head but just preferred that of 1.3. Sheigra Special Secret with Balaambeck

Open

1. Parson’s Quensha Thinkinking Out Loud at Bransett JW – nearing 4 and caught my attention from the start with his balanced look both on the stack and during the initial move round the ring. So typically male without any coarseness with bright kindly eyes. Muscular in body yet full of raciness, well angulated shoulder and good bend of stifle on rear. Shown in full coat in super condition. Moved freely and with drive, couldn’t be denied the class. 2. McDonald’s Sh Ch Roanjora Cremant D’alsace JW – the first thing you note is her clearly defined red/white coat followed by her pretty, feminine head with kind eyes. Well balanced in outline in fit muscular condition but still so obviously a bitch, strong neck into good forehand assembly, very good depth and width to chest, well ribbed back into strong, wide muscular loin, well bent stifles. Moved with elegant ease around the ring with a good stride. Beat her litter mate into 3rd with a more balanced ouline. 3. McDonald, Westwood & Westwood’s Roanjora Cremant De Savoie Avec Eusanit JW
