OPEN SHOW 11/1/26

Many thanks to the committee for the invitation and my able steward for his hard work. Unfortunately adverse weather took its toll on the entry with many absentees over all breeds.

GOLDEN RETRIEVER

PUPPY (3,2A)

1/ Lowther VERA’S MYSTERY AT EVENMINT. Liked the overall balance of this bitch, very pretty head with correct skull to muzzle proportions, nice clean lips, lovely dark eye and well pigmented. She is clean over neck and shoulders although a tad short in upper arm and would like a bit more width through the front. Very good bone and tight feet, good length to the ribcage and holds a firm topline and correctly set tail. Moved out well showing her outgoing personality. BPIB.

YEARLING (3,1A)

1/ Foster AURISTELA GINGER ROGERS. BOB. Very attractive, eye catching bitch. Very feminine in head which is balanced and well proportioned with good dark eye and pigment. Clean through the throat and good height to length ratio. Nice bone and feet, good depth to the rib, strong topline although tail set a fraction low. Out of coat today and standing looked and bit overstretched but she had the quality to top this entry.

2/ Robinson BARICIA BELLA D’ORO. I found this male a bit too strong in head showing a lot of stop and being rather jowly. He is well angulated in front but would prefer elbows to be a bit tighter to the chest. Liked his overall proportions through the body and he holds a firm topline. Shown in good coat condition.

POST GRAD (4,3A)

1/ BARICIA BELLA D’ORO. Repeat

OPEN (4,3A)

1/ Ritson BARICIA BELLA DOLCE. This male has nice balance to his head with a soft expression. A fraction upright in angulation both ends but has good forechest, elbows tight to the body, good development to ribcage and holds his topline well. Moved ok in the space available and shown in full coat. Unfortunately he carries his tail very high which spoils his outline on the move.

LABRADOR

PUPPY (1,0A)

1/ Stewart TIMOURON SIGN OF THE TIMES. Chocolate male who is not quite balanced in head as yet, still needs to develop in muzzle. He has very good front angulation and length of leg, strong bone and decent feet. Fraction long in body but has good big ribs and a nice turn of stifle. Correct coat of good colour and correct tail. Moved soundly.

YEARLING (1,0A)

1/ Morrow RUEMBERS’S ROSE TO FAME. Black bitch of pleasing overall type although would prefer better balance in her angulation. Decent head shape although could have more depth to her muzzle, kind eye and expression. Stood on good tight feet, has the required rib shape and good coat which was in lovely condition. Well muscled and moved positively.

POST GRAD(3,1A)

1/ Roberts STORMROSE DAISY HILL. Yellow bitch of lovely type and personality showing a very balanced outline in profile. Her head is well proportioned with a kind expression from her correctly shaped eyes of good colour, well set ears, strong neck running well back into the shoulders, good depth of chest and front angulation. Correct ribs, coat and tail and moved well in the space available. Close up for top honours today.

2/ Morrow RUEMBERS’S REMEMBER ME. Chocolate bitch, of very similar type to winner of previous class and many of the same comments apply. Lighter all over than first and not as well constructed but of good overall breed type.

OPEN (2,0A)

1/ Roberts STORMROSE GOOD AS GOLD. BOB. Yellow dog who gives the appearance of strength and athleticism. Liked his make and shape, lovely balance to his outline with good proportions. Head is a fraction strong, he could be cleaner in throat but is still typical and he has a lovely expression. Well ribbed and holds a firm topline, correct coat and tail and moved with drive. Just preferred his shape and movement when it came for BOB over the lovely headed bitch from previous class.

2/ Morrow SERENGOCH’S NINE TO FIVE AT RUEMBERS’S. Mature chocolate bitch who was carrying a bit too much weight today. She has a nice outline in profile showing good angulation and depth of body, well boned. Could have a bit more length and depth to her muzzle but has a kind expression. Correct coat. Not quite the strength in hindquarters and drive as winner.
