A.V Don Hicks Memorial Open Stakes

33 (20abs)

1st/ Reynolds Beabeardies Blue Velvet JW, an 11 months old Bearded Collie, which I have judged before, this young lad has really come on so well, and is at the right stage for his age, and although the head is the last to mature, this boys head has all the winning parts in place, moderate in stop, broadness in skull which was flat and square good dark pigmentation, expressive eyes, well set in ear placement, scissor bite with clean teeth, good length in rib cage giving him a good length of back level topline held standing and on the move, well covered oval feet good muscle through the hindquarters, correct length of tail, which was carried low well feathered, moved well covering the ground with ease.

2nd/ Weller’s Evad Halloween Tzar JW, Shetland Sheepdog. An 18months old sable lad which I have judged before as a puppy and seems to get better as he gets older to my mind, he is so correct in the head with no exaggerations, jet black pigmentations, and almond shaped dark brown eyes, good width between the base of semi erect ears which were used to his advantage, scissor bite of well placed teeth of cleanness, and a good underjaw, well held topline, I would like a little more length of tail, moved well, in good coat.
