Great Yarmouth Gorleston & District Canine Society

Thank you to the society for inviting me to judge, a great turn out of quality dogs. My first time judging Dachshunds and overall, I found the quality to be good with sound temperaments. The flooring at this venue isn't the easiest for some dogs but they all handled it well and overall movement was good without cause for concern.

1st Foley's LOGGETA WYNN BY MYLES AT CLAVENNAE

5 year old bitch, scissor bite. Head of good proportions. Good length to neck with well laid shoulders, solid top line which was maintained on the move with good tail carriage. Carrying a little extra weight today which showed on the move.

1st Bailey's CH GLASVEY DOUBLE TROUBLE FOR LOGGETA JW VW

9 year old bitch, mother to limit class winner. Presented in top condition, scissor bite, dark eye of good shape. Head of correct proportions. Well boned throughout with ample leg length to give good ground clearance. Strong top line which was maintained on the move. Clean action throughout, covering the ground with effortless action and good drive from the rear. Pleased to award her BOB.

20 month old male, scissor bite, clean head of good proportions. Good length to neck. Fore chest well developed with solid top line. Good length to leg with ample ground clearance. Good rear angulation and muscle tone. Steady mover, carrying himself well. Working well with handler, pleased to award him BOB.

8 year old male, scissor bite, head of good proportions. Ample bone throughout with tidy feet. 

Strong top line on the stack but slightly soft on the move today. Moved well with clean action throughout, good reach and drive. 

2nd Coverley AVENTINE DOLCETTO 

8 year old bitch, scissor bite. Lovely reach to neck and strong top line. Good proportions throughout, tidy feet and ample bone. Presented well and working well with handler. Lacked drive from the rear today which let her down.

Black and Tan male, scissor bite, clean eye. Head developing well. Good bone throughout with strong top line. Sound in action, covering the ground with reach and drive. Pleased to award BP.

2nd Wood CANKASPER LILLIE BLUE MOON

7 month old bitch, scissor bite. Dark eye, slightly round at this stage. Good length to neck. Very raw currently but has plenty of time on her side. Once settled she moved soundly.

10 month old male, scissor bite, clean good shape and colour. Head developing well. Would like a touch more length to neck. Ample bone throughout and good length to leg. Strong top line which he held on the move. Spooked today but allowed me to access him and moved well with clean action. 

2nd Hicks PHOENIE ALLEGRO AFFAIR

Coming up for 8 months old bitch, scissor bite, clean eye and head developing well. Good angulation fore and after. Untidy rear movement today which let her down but this could have been due to the flooring.

Junior brindle bitch, dark eye of good colour and shape. Chest developed well with good length to leg. Ample bone throughout. Nervous today but moved well covering the ground with clean action, holding top line and carrying her tail well.

2 year old brindle male, scissor bite, pleasing headpiece of good proportions. Good length to neck onto well laid shoulders. Strong top line which he maintained on the move. Ample length to leg to give good ground clearence. Steady mover, covering the ground with clean effortless action. Pleased to award him RBOB. 

2nd Hicks PHEONIE WALTZING STAR 

Coming up 5 year old bitch, scissor bite, clean head well developed. Pleasing eye of good shape and colour. Good length to leg and tidy feet. Level top line and good tail carriage, moved well covering the ground with steady action.

9 year old bitch, not showing her age in the slightest. Scissor bite, clean eye of dark colour and correct shape. Good length to leg with good angulation throughout and tidy feet. Strong top line which she maintained on the move. Came into her own on the move where she really caught my eye, pleased to award her BOB and watch her go on to win group 2. 

2nd Williams LOKMADI CALL ME LOUIS ROZAMIE 

Coming up 5 year old male, well made throughout. Scissor bite, dark eye of good shape. Strong top line and pushed one hard today. Another lovely male who just lost out on the move to class winner but could easily swap places on another day.

2 year old male, scissor bite. Loved his expression, good ear set. Creates a lovely shape in profile with good length to leg with correct tail set. Needs to firm up throughout to strengthen in the rear.
