Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

I would like to thank Carlisle & District Canine Society for the invitation to judge Cavalier King Charles Spaniels at their Premier Open Show. I would also like to thank my steward for keeping everything running smoothly throughout the day. Thank you to all exhibitors for supporting the show and for accepting my decisions in such a sporting manner. 

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Puppy Dog (2,0)

1st Chapman’s Daltonian’s Last Post. 6-month-old heavily marked tri puppy dog. Lovely head with soft expression, dark eyes and good pigment. Very well presented with silky coat. Moved well holding a level topline. Happy and animated. Best Puppy Dog

2nd Hood’s Alsidewood Imitation. 9-month-old black & tan. Nice head with soft expression, round dark eyes and good leathers. Slightly longer cast than the winner and not as animated.

Yearling Dog (1,0)

1st Leaver & Gresty’s Revealann Rocky Road. 22-month-old Blenheim dog. A well-balanced dog with good shape and compact body. Well broken markings and Blenheim spot. Dark eyes. Happy and outgoing. He moved with good reach and drive.

Graduate Dog (2,0)

1st Rogerson & Williamson’s Rabymar New York AWB. 3-year-old ruby dog. Lovely head with soft melting expression, dark nose and dark eyes. Correct scissor bite. Well balanced. Well presented with lots of silky rich red coat. Moved well with good reach and drive. A little proud of his tail at times. Best Dog & Best Opposite Sex

2nd Price’s Kensesqui Rascal Red Velvet. 3-year-old ruby dog. A happy animated dog who enjoyed being in the ring. Correct scissor bite, good length of leathers. Lighter red than the winner

Open Dog (1,0)

1st Kynaston’s Granasil Ovaltine JW. 3-year-old ruby dog. Well balanced with good bone. Nice head with soft expression, black nose and correct scissor bite. Lighter in colour than the best dog winner. Spirited and outgoing. Moved well.

Puppy Bitch (5,0)

1st Bacon’s Timbric Paloma Faith. 7 ½ month old Blenheim. Lovely compact shape. Excellent well-broken markings with rich chestnut. Well presented. Lovely head with dark eyes, good pigment and a soft melting expression. Animated and moved well. A very promising puppy. Best Puppy Bitch & Best Puppy in Breed

2nd Leaver & Gresty’s Revealann Gift From Heaven. 9-month-old tricolour. Lovely head with soft expression, round dark eyes, black nose and correct scissor bite. Reasonably well broken markings. Less animated than the winner and needs time to mature. Well-schooled and moved well.

Yearling Bitch (2,1)

1st Pollard’s Jeweljay Red Rose Delight. 13-month-old ruby bitch. Lighter in colour with a little white on chest. Nice head with dark eyes and nose and correct scissor bite. Soft expression. Attentive to handler. Moved ok.

Graduate Bitch (1,1)

Chapman’s Eikandi Amaretto at Daltonian. 4-year-old ruby bitch. Well presented with plenty of rich red coat. Very pretty head with dark eyes, good pigment, long well-feathered leathers and correct scissor bite. Well balanced and compact with a spirit level topline which she held on the move. A lovely mover. Best Bitch & Best of Breed
