Judges’ critiques for Ibizan Hounds. 

The English Ibizan Hound Club at The Hunting Dogs Of Ancient Egypt.

My thanks to the officers and committee of the club for their invitation to judge this beautiful breed at their open show. A very warm day but great to be outside in good sized rings which allowed the hounds to demonstrate their unique suspended trotting action. Thank you to my stewards who helped keep things moving on the day and a big thank you to all of the exhibitors who entered their hounds for me to judge. 

Junior Dog or Bitch 3 Entries. 

1st Morris Kiki La King Daida Los Delhi (IMP DEU). 

Beautiful bitch appearing taller in her outline and finely built throughout. Feminine head with her skull flat and of good length, almond shaped eyes and large, erect and highly mobile ears. Long neck leading down to her steep sloping shoulders and long straight legs. Good length of ribcage, with her back level and her loin short. Muscular rear that compliments her front perfectly, with long second thighs. On the move she covered the ground well with good length to her strides. 

2nd McGrath-Kermode Thunder Baltas Vejas. 

Dog of correct size with a masculine head of good length and good expression from his almond shaped amber eyes. Steep in his front with his breast bone prominent and his feet have well arched toes. Long, flat ribcage and short in his loin leading to his moderate rear with muscular, long second thigh. He moved well with long reach to his strides.

3rd Hall Kiwi Treasures Tennessee Whiskey For Hollybrook (IMP USA).

Beautiful bitch who is full of breed type and quality and showing great promise, just sadly not so happy in the ring today.

1st Nicholls Willow. 

Rough coated bitch of nice proportions with a typical head of correct length and amber, almond shaped expressive eyes, all carried well by her long, slightly arched neck. Steep in her shoulders with good length to her forelegs. Long, flat ribs leading to her short muscular loin and her moderately angulated, muscular rear. She moved well with long strides and showing a suspended trotting action.

1st Hamilton Gala With Harrisclub (SP IMP).

Rough coated bitch of good overall proportions. Feminine in her head of good length with a slightly convex muzzle ang good strong jaws. Steep in her front with her breastbone prominent and good length to her straight legs. Her body has a long, flat ribcage with her back level. Well-muscled rear with her second thighs long all complimenting her front perfectly and allowing her to move with long strides around the ring.

2nd Taylor Yetti (SP IMP).

Rough coated bitch who was well balanced both in her outline and on the move. Correct in her head proportions with beautiful expression from her almond shaped amber eyes. Sloping shoulders to her front with long, erect pasterns. Flat ribs of good length and a short, strong loin. Moderately made in her rear she moved well with good length to her stride.

1st Carter CH L-Wynd’s Where The Shadow Ends (IMP USA) JW.

Loved this well-made dog so full of type and quality who just owned the ring today. Typical in his head being long and fine with only a slight stop. Large almond shaped eyes with his large ears set at the same level and very mobile, all carried well by his long, muscular neck. Prominent breast bone to his front with his shoulders steep and long, straight legs and well arched toes to his feet. Ample depth to his long, flat ribcage tucking up nicely to his short loin. Long, low set tail to his rear, which he carried correctly when moving. Muscular rear with no great angulation and long second thighs. On the move he covered the ground with long far-reaching strides giving a suspended trotting action. Best of Breed. 

2nd Vescan Peacemaker Apache Baltas Vejas (IMP).

Handsome dog of good overall proportions correct in his head with his ears erect and mobile. Long, slightly arched neck leading down to his steep front with long legs and erect pasterns. Level in his back with ample depth to his chest and tucking up nicely to his loin. Muscular rear that complimented his front perfectly and allowed him to move with long, far reaching strides around the ring.

Beautiful bitch of typical proportions, feminine in her head with a prominent occiput and almond shaped eyes with large erect, highly mobile ears set on level with them. Long neck leads down to her steep front with long legs, erect pasterns and her feet have well arched toes. Her body has a long, flat ribcage which tucks up well to her short loin. Strong in her rear with long second thighs and complimenting her front perfectly. On the move she had long

Rough coated bitch of typical proportions. Fine, long head with almond shaped eyes and large erect ears all carried well by her long neck. Correct front with her steep shoulders and long forelegs. Level in her back with her ribs long and deep. Muscular rear with no great angulation and long second thighs. She moved well with long strides around the ring.

Beautiful bitch who I have always had a soft spot for and she has matured so well. Full of breed type she has a long fine head with melting expression from her almond eyes with her ears in line with them, erect and highly mobile. Steep in her front with erect pasterns and her feet have well arched toes. Her body has ample depth with her ribs long and flat, tucking up to her short loin. No great angulation to her rear, with her second thighs long and muscular. On the move she covered the ground with a suspended trot from her long, striding action. Best veteran in breed.

Quality bitch who was not showing her age. Well balanced in her outline with a typical head of good proportions and with her ears erect and highly mobile. Correct front with short, steep shoulder blades and long legs with her pasterns strong and erect. Good length of rib tucking up nicely to her short loin. Moderately made rear with long second thighs. She moved with long strides around the ring.
