Breed: Irish Setter

I would like to thank the Society for the invitation to judge,and the Committee for all their hard work, my excellent Steward on the day and last but not least to all kind exhibitors for bringing their dogs under me, it was a pleasure to go over them. 

MP (2,2) 1. Bryant’s Dazycutter Crownedbyfire- lovely 6 month old bitch, with nice dark eyes and very pretty head. Neck of moderate length into good shoulders. Good front and body length of good proportions. Good angulation at the rear, not overdone. Correct tail set. Good topline. Well handled and moved well for one so young. Best Puppy. 2. Pullen & Atkin’s Covarney Can’t Hear You At Jacingail – 7 month old boy, nice head, good front assembly. Well off for rib at this early stage. Good rear angulation. He just needs time to develop. Moved okay. 

P (1,0), 

J (4,4) What a lovely class, they all could change positions on another day. 1. Boutell & Burbridge’s Ixia The Lovecats – pretty girl, lovely head and expression. Good reach of neck, arched into well laid back shoulders. Well sprung ribs. Lovely tuck up. Good front and rear angulation. Good topline. Presents a lovely outline when stood. Moved well, using her tail. 2. Frampton’s Strathmead Tennessee Walts (AI) – lovely elegant bitch. Nice head, good length of muzzle. Moderate length of neck. Good angulation fore and aft. Good length of body. Good topline. Lovely overall shape, moved well. Very close to the class winner. 3. Foster’s Ixia Boy’s Don’t Cry At Shanoah JW. 

N (1,1) – 1. Sweeney’s Orange Starburst – very sweet head and expression. Showed good angulation. Difficult to give an overall critique as she was quite overweight. Moved okay considering. 

G (1,1) 1. Harris’s Fairhaven Young Soul For Konakakela JW (Imp Swe) – lovely upstanding dog. Strong masculine head into moderate reach of neck and arched into shoulders. Nice layback of shoulder. Correct front. Good front and rear angulation. Good depth of rib. Well ribbed back into strong loin. Correct croup and tail set. Moved well. Should have a promising future. Reserve Best of Breed.

OD (1,1) 1. Edward’s Sh Ch Copper’s Get Off My Cloud By Bonhomie ( Imp Swe) – handsome boy. Lovely head, this dog just flows. Nothing exaggerated. Good reach of neck, well arched and flowing into gently sloping topline. Good front, good depth of rib and well ribbed back. Good angulation front and aft. Presented in lovely condition. Moved well. Best of Breed.

 OB (3,2) 1.Boutell & Burbridge’s Ixia Snow Vixen – lovely girl with pretty head and expression. Nice overall shape with good front. Good depth of rib. Good angulation front and rear. Correct tail set. Very happy on the move. 

V(2,1) 1. Catling’s Teleri Here Comes Summer (AI) – lovely 9 year old girl. Lovely head and expression. Good length of muzzle. Neck of moderate length. Correct front. Good body length. Good rear angulation. Correct tail set. Moved well with good reach.
