Newark & District Canine Society

Breed: Bearded Collie

A big thank you to the committee of Newark & District Canine Society for the invitation to judge the Bearded collie classes at your open show. I was looking forward to judge an entry of 23 beardies but unfortunately there were quite a few absentees. Despite this I’m very grateful for the exhibitors who turned up, I had some lovely beardies of good quality to judge which made it a good day. I was pleased to find most dogs with good muscle tone; I would prefer some dogs to have a slightly longer rib. A special thanks to my happy stewards, who did a great job which made my judging very enjoyable.

Puppy class: 2 entries, 1 absent.

1st Mr J.L. MacDougal, Irisaddition Simply Lovely for Clanmac.

11-month-old brown puppy girl in a lighter stage of coat. Lovely head and expression with nice brown eyes. Correct bite, nice length of neck and good upper arm, nice outline on the stand with a good correct shape of rib but could be slightly longer. Good hind angulations. She was moving confident and effortlessly with reach and drive. Best Puppy and pleased to hear she went second in the puppy group.

I’m sure he can trot around all day. RBOB.

Excellent front, good length of neck going in well laid-back shoulders and good upper arm. Correct shape and depth of rib. Good quality coat of good texture. Really good mover with reach and drive covering the ground with ease but preferred a firmer topline on the move today.

2nd Mrs B Hurry, Breaksea Time to Dazzle at Alcheringa.

22-month-old brown girl in her lighter stage of coat. A little bit taller than 1 on the stand but showing a lovely outline with a good length of back. This 5-year-old slate girl is full of breed type. She is eye catching on the stand with her outline, showing correct proportions, not exaggerated in any way.
