Firstly I would like to thank the committee and my stewards for their support in my first appointment judging the breed. There were a number of absentees on the day but I appreciated the opportunity to judge the dogs I was presented and very happy to see my BOB end the day with Group 1 and representing the pastoral group in BIS.

  1. Benton’s Ch Blamorder Double or Quits of Oakestelle Nearly 2yo blue merle bitch. Clean, feminine head of correct proportions. Kind expression. Good reach of neck into well-laid shoulders and correct return of upper arm. Maturing youngster with good spring of rib. Well-angulated rear matched her front, producing clean, typical collie movement. Attentive to her handler, used her ears to constant advantage, and showed like a true showgirl. BOB, G1
  2. BentonsCh Brackenhaye Queen of Hearts of Oakestelle 6yo tricolour bitch. Another clean head, though slightly less feminine than winner. Sweet expression with lovely dark, almond-shaped eyes and well-placed ears used to advantage. Similar reach of neck to winner and a pleasing outline on the stand. Preferred her for overall maturity, rise over loin, and free profile movement. Unfortunately rather unsettled today and not performing at her best.
