North Riding Gundog Club

Breed: Open show

Please find report for 29th August 2026

Firstly let me thank the club for huge privilege to judge BIS at this wonderful club.

The club is very fortunate to enjoy the facilities that High Goosepool Farm provide . Although there are no wet weather provisions exhibitors are a hardy resourceful bunch but no umbrellas etc were required as the weather was perfect.

There a lot of quality dogs exhibited from the surrounding areas and it was brilliant to have so many of them presented for BIS BPIS BVIS line ups.

Thankyou to my steward .

BIS

Water & Roberts Gloi Dubh Lady Muck JW Flat Coat Retriever. At first look at this girl she appealed to me with her outline and personality. Flatcoats are a super breed when presented in the best way which she was. Beautiful coat and condition on her. Her tail never stopped wagging. Classic head with lovely expressive eyes. Skull is most definitely a flatcoat when you look at her. Correct mouth. Neck is clean and well set into good shoulders. Ample bone and correct feet. Body just flows and is balanced throughout. Good strength to quarters. On the move she didnt disappoint. Great footfall and drive.

RBIS Calvdale Infinity 13 month B. When presented with an exhibit you should immediately be able to tell on first look how balanced and fit looking it is. This smart youngster catches the eye on the stack. Nothing exaggerated about her. Super bone. Head piece is quality. Well set ears good flews. Going over her she fits together nicely. Super chest. Quarters are developed. On the move she is confident and sure footed with a good swing. This Kennel certainly produces quality.

BIS 3 Rayner & Maskell Enjager Elegance for Brownbank a beautiful example of the breed that I have awarded well before. She has a beautiful clean outline and stands over her ground well. Presented in great condition in coat and muscle tone. Without doubt she screams Weimaraner to you . Moves so well with great reach and drive. Only a youngster and she has so much more to give to the breed.

BIS 4 Graham & Yarrow Sh Ch Bonapartist Pickpocket this boy needs no introduction as he is a great winning Brittany. He enjoys showing and moving in a large ring. So clean in outline. Has body strength. Super outline. Quality head tapered muzzle. Beautiful through neck. Rounded ribs, short back. On the move a Brittany is unique in its briskness which he showed off well.

BPIS

Chandler's Chanagel Kiss Cam Wesh Springer Welsh. There is no getting away from awarding quality exhibits high places and she deserved her award today. I love her colouring and coat. Feminine throughout but has strength and breed type. Super bone and feet. Excellent through shoulders. Sound strong thighs. On the move she is a free mover who just wants to please her handler. Moves really well.

RBPS

OConnors Karlejay Forrest Fire just 6 months old but what a super solid mover. Head has desired features that tell you she is a GWHP. Good eyes. Big nose. Liked her shoulder set into a deep body. Well boned. Rear quarters have width and is balanced all over. On the move she is very together for a puppy. When she matures she will surely come into her own.

BPIS 3

Ellis Soellis Coy Roy. As soon as I saw this boy he reminded me of my GSP veteran. I later found out he is the sire. Loved his overall structure and balance. His coat is super in condition. Handling his head I felt the construction fitted the standard. Beautiful front construction. He flows throughout. Excellent bone and feet. Good depth to chest. Loin and croup correct. Width to thighs pleasing. On the move he is another puppy that was so true and moved freely.

BPIS 4

Calverton Calvdale McCoy. See below critique.

BVIS

In my opinion our veterans have a lot to give to their respective breeds. Sometimes overlooked for top awards by the youngsters. If an exhibit is correct and fits the breed standards then they still have a lot to give to their breeds.

Mason Morgan Van Freebreeze (Imp NLD) ShCex. What can I say about this beauty? She is a credit to the breed. She screams quality throughout her graceful body. Well turned lips. Deep stop. Head and muzzle are balanced in length. Correct leathers. Going over her chest you find the true breastbone and depth to elbows. Excellent bone and feet. Topline flows from well placed shoulders. No exaggeration at all. Beautifully turned stifles and straight hocks. On the move she is effortless and uses her tail as the breed standard quotes. Her head fits the standard well. No exaggeration

Good stop occiput flews .Fine leathers. Such a graceful and powerful exhibit.

RBVIS

Manns Sh Ch Elfrindew Endrick to Valger ShCex I have previously awarded high placing for this boy and in my opinion he has only got better with age. A powerful GSP. He stands his ground in a masculine manner. Beautiful throughout from his nose to tail. In excellent condition. Going over him he really does flows and fits his structure so well.

BVIS 3

Chandler Yorkshire Rose. A good example of this breed. So sound on the move. Compact with well boned legs. Round feet. Clean through neck which sits well into shoulders. Brisket is deep with strong body. Well muscled thighs. On the move she eats up the ground with her powerful movement. All topped off with a beautiful kind expressive head.

BVIS 4

O'CONNOR Sh Ch Karlejay Gump Circle of Life another exhibit that I have previously awarded well. She is so laid back her temperament is solid. The opening line of the breed standard says robust workmanlike. Medium in size. She fits this description well. Straight forelegs covered well with hair. Round feet. Correct eye shape and colour. Full beard and eyebrows. Clean neck. Well muscled throughout. Moves so effortlessly with a driving hind action.
