Annandale Canine Society

Annandale Canine Society 12th July 2026

My many thanks go to Jane, officer and committee of the society with the invitation of judging the Pastoral Group along with BIS, BPIS and BVIS. A small but dedicated committee who put on a wonderful show along with great Scottish hospitality from the shortbread to the very thoughtful gift on my completion of judging that I will treasure immensely.

Best In Show.

BIS – Clayton, Nisyros Rigatoni For Lokilake, Lakeland Terrier, 2 year old male of an excellent breed type and unknown to me I have awarded him Best Special Puppy In Show back in 2024. He definitely demand the attention and great ring presence, with such a masculine head and wonderful expression. Flat skull, ears well placed. Strong neck with good length into well placed shoulders, excellent front set on straight legs. Strong compact body and super tail set. Good dense coat. Very good rear angulation, hocks low and well set and this showed on the move with a good drive from the rear, very impressive in profile and a great representative of the breed.

RBIS - Odonnell, IR Ch Kalaslane Revenge For Neukiebear (IKC) ,SHCEX VW, Russian Black Terrier 8 year old female, I judged this exhibit earlier in the year and again she does not disappoint. Much of my critique still applies in many ways and like a fine wine just keeps getting better. Excellent head, good ear set, flat skull, dark eyes. Strong muscular neck and well developed front, plenty of bone, straight legs and good feet. Plenty of body, well sprung ribs, strong back and broad muscular hindquarters with a good turn of stifle and well laid hocks. Movement was excellent in all directions and covered the ground with ease. Well presented with a good dense coat and super condition.

BPIS – Todd, Witchgait Its Showtime, Shar Pei, 7 month old male, wonderful head proportions, dark eyes that were clean. moderate frown. Well placed ears. Broad, good pigmentation. Sufficient length of neck with well placed shoulders, good breadth of chest with adequate depth at this young age. Very good rear angulation. His movement for me won him the top honours today which was faultless superb to watch especially in profile. He was very well handled and no hesitation to award him Best Puppy In Show.

RBPIS – Logie, Albadhu Bark In Action, Pembroke Corgi, 11 month old male, another impressive puppy that also wanted your attention. Very well balanced head with well placed ears giving such a great expression and alertness. Good overall profile with front and rear angulation. Another who came into is own on the move that was completely free and easy. Presented in super coat and condition. Very well handled to get the best out of him at all times.

BVIS – Forrester & Nisbet, Ch Pramya Hot But Not Blonde At Finix (Imp Fin), Afghan, 7 year old female, presented a picture of finesse, femininity and grace, completely balanced all through, such a feminine head with dark eyes, super flowing neck and well placed shoulders, with depth of chest, sufficient ribbing and wonderful well muscled rear angulation and tail well set and always carried correctly. The joy was again the movement which was so graceful and elegant with such a ground covering action with drive from the rear. Presented in great coat and condition. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to go over a worthy Ch and pleased to award BVIS. I found out later that she started her show career with Best Puppy In Show at this society.

RBVIS - Odonnell, IR Ch Kalaslane Revenge For Neukiebear (IKC) ,SHCEX VW, Russian Black Terrier. See RBIS critique.
