What a busy show this was with some super entries so well done to Hilary Male and the rest of her Committee for putting on such a good event. A big thank you to them for the lovely welcome and for the hospitality. It was a cold day and very wet outside so well done to the exhibitors for keeping their dogs warm and dry. It must have been a challenge.
Best In Show
The group judges had sent through 7 very respectable dogs for my assessment which made my job at the end of a long day enjoyable.
BIS Royalkapoms Magic Onyx by Larosapearl, Breed: Pomeranian (Miss T P Burrows)-this delightful Pom was still fizzing at the end of the day. Fabulous temperament, ultra compact, lovely ears enhancing the alert expression, tail set correct and well carried, lovely double coat and excelled on the move. Super drive in the rear. A well deserved BIS.
RBIS Ch Ubble Du Manoir Saint Adrien at Byzantine (Imp Fra), Breed: Fox Terrier (Smooth) (Ms J Peakin)-this Smooth was so typical in outline both standing and moving, another still fizzing at the end of the day, super clean head, decent neck and shoulders, level topline and tail on top. Moves very smartly. Very well done.
BPIS Philoma Houdini, Breed: Giant Schnauzer (Mr M R Veal)-I had judged this lovely boy earlier in the day in a variety class where he filled my eye and came out on top. Is obviously still a baby but is one with great promise. Super outline and lovely profile both standing and moving, moves so effortlessly for a big dog, in immaculate coat of correct texture and well presented. Has that extra “something” and hopefully has a very bright future ahead of him. One to watch.
RBP Vicmar Gaievals The Girl Is Mine, Breed: Poodle (Toy) (Mrs S Pine-Haynes)-another still fizzing at the end of the day. She came in looking so very typical and when I went over her on the table there was nothing for her lovely presentation to hide, so sound, light on her feet, super expression and is so feminine. Good tail and tailset which is not always easy with the Poodles. Was close up for BPIS and I think that she too has a very bright future.
BVIS Ch Musique Born Legacy, Breed: German Spitz (Klein) (Mrs J Y & Mr A M Chambers)-this Klein put on a great show against the other veterans. Super temperament, in great coat and condition, compact, light on the feet and is clearly top drawer.
RBV Ch Komidion Prima Donna of Sametova ShCEx VW, Breed: Cesky Terrier (Mr D & Mrs L Burrage)-this one too is top drawer. Correct outline for the breed, lovely body, well presented and moved really well.
Best Import Register 420 - Tamoanchan Neferiti to Musique, Breed: Xoloitzcuintle (Mex Hairless) Int (Mrs J Y & Mr A M Chambers)-this Xolo put on a good show, particularly given how cold it was, nothing to hide, good outline, moderate in proportions and was sound.
RBIR 858 - Kontrastas Leonhart, Breed: White Swiss Shepherd Dog (Mrs D E Ridgewell)-this one was better equipped for the weather, not quite the animation of the winner and was carrying a little excess weight but very typical with correct gait.
A big thank you to my hard working steward Carole Spelman who looked after me for all the breeds and varieties. An excellent steward.
Affenpinscher
