Larkhall & District Canine Club

Breed: Weimaraner

My sincere thanks to Larkhall & District Canine Society for inviting me to judge the Weimaraners at their 100th Anniversary Show. Congratulations to the hardworking committee for staging such a well-run and enjoyable event. Thank you also to my two efficient stewards for keeping everything running so smoothly.

Weimaraner

Puppy (0)

Yearling (1,0)

1. Duffy’s Minstergate Horizon – A very handsome, well-made, masculine dog of 12 months. Correctly angulated both fore and aft, with good muscle throughout. Moved well, although just a tad close in front at times. A cracking youngster with plenty to like, and I look forward to following his progress as he matures.

Limit (3,0)

1. Maclean & Dickson’s Greyspirit Hopes N Dreams JW ShCEx OSW VW – A lovely 9-year-old bitch with a very pretty, feminine head and kind expression. Clean neck of good length flowing into well-laid shoulders, level topline, and well-angulated front and rear. Well muscled throughout and moved soundly, showing the youngsters exactly how it’s done.

2. Cairns’ Lamarg Silver Showtoff – A 4-year-old bitch, heavier in build than the winner but still feminine throughout. Good reach of neck, correct front and rear angulation, and moved well.

Open (4,0)

1. Maclaine & Dickson’s Greyspirit Rock Star From Hantzburg JW ShCEx OSW VW – A strong, masculine dog with nothing overdone. Very handsome head with a kind expression, good reach of neck leading into well-laid shoulders, a level topline and correct tailset. Correctly angulated front and rear with well-muscled hindquarters, which he used to great advantage on the move, covering the ground with ease. I would never believe this lad is 9 years old. Best of Breed.

2. Maclaine & Dickson’s Greyspirit Purdue JW SHCM ShCEx VW – A real sweetheart. A very pretty 10-year-old bitch with the kindest head and expression. Correct throughout, she moved soundly and effortlessly, covering the ground with ease.
