National Working and Pastoral Breeds Society Premier Open Show

Saturday 14th February 2026

Thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge at their Valentines’ Day show. The

show was well run and seemed like a great success. Thank you again to the exhibitors for

their entries, I really enjoyed my time.

Newfoundlands

Class 186 Junior Dog or Bitch

1 st 376 Vodahond Violet For Peakcharm

15 month old bitch with a lovely feminine head, correct eyes with a dark colouring and

correct set ears. She has a strong neck with a nice depth of chest. Nice level topline with the

correct rear angulation. Moved nice and steady round the ring.

Class 187 Post Graduate Dog or Bitch

1 st 381 Starnewf Mr Dark Sky JW

19 th month old male. Attractive broad head with the correct muzzle length and correct

dentition. Good depth of chest. He held a strong topline and kept this on the move. He had

lovely reach and drive on the move and is a pleasure to see move round the ring and I am

sure he will do well in the future.

2 nd Bearhugs Carnegie

Taller than 1, this young boy has a lovely strong head but is still so gentle, correct bite and

ear set. He was slightly unsettled on the move but when settled moved well. Just a little loose

on the rear currently.

Class 188 Limit Dog or Bitch

1 st 374 Daybreaker’s You Give Me Shivers

3-year-old male with a nice strong head which isn’t overdone. Correct shaped eyes and

correct set ears. Good bite. Good depth of chest and a nice strong level topline. Good

angulation front and rear, move out well with the reach and drive his coat is in fabulous

condition, completely at one with his handler which is lovely to see and I was pleased to

award him BOB.

2 nd 373 Spellbound De La Baie De Pempoul (Imp) Fra

4-year-old female with a strong board head yet still very feminine, correct dark eye and

correct bite. Nice depth of chest and good rear angulation with a lovely body shape. She was

slightly unsettled on the move which slightly threw her topline off but when she got

eventually settled, she showed good reach and drive.

Class 189 Open Dog or Bitch

1 st 377 Northpier’s Non Ducor Duco (Imp Usa) Vw

Nearly 8-year-old white and black male, with the loveliest of expressions. Correct set ears

and correct bite. Strong board back with a level topline. He has fabulous rear muscle that

allows him to move freely around the ring he was slightly unsettled at times but I put this

down to the type of matting used for the ring. A fabulous veteran in our breed, his owner

should be proud. RBOB.
