Southern Cairn Terrier Club

The Southern Cairn Terrier Club Open Show

Saturday 2nd May 2026

Judge: Miss N Foster (Thozow)

My sincere thanks go to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge, and to the exhibitors for their entries and entrusting me with the opportunity to assess their dogs. It was an honour to judge this breed at a club open show, made more enjoyable by the company of my friend and unofficial mentor, Frances Goldfinch, who joined me as my guest, along with my highly efficient steward, Sharon Confue.

A very promising puppy, alert, active and full of confidence. Correct head proportions with broad skull, definite stop and dark, keen expression. Small, pointed ears well set and carried erect. Good reach of neck flowing into well laid shoulders. At times appeared a little long in body, however when settled showed a balanced outline with level topline and good body proportions. Moved freely and positively. Correct harsh double coat. BPD, BPIS.

2nd Copseleaze Midnight – Miss S Rodgers

Appealing puppy with typical expression, good head proportions and neat erect ears. Straight front with adequate forechest and good bone for age. Muscular hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle. Coat of correct texture. Tail carriage was rather high and movement difficult to assess fully as he was unsettled on the move.
