I would like to take this opportunity to thank the whole committee and team at Ashfield Premier Open Show, especially Paul and Yvonne, for such a well-run and enjoyable event. Everything was very well organised, and the warm and hospitable welcome extended to us as judges was very much appreciated.

A special thank you also to my steward, Rebecca, who did a fantastic job keeping everything running smoothly, efficiently and on time. Great job!

And, of course, a big thank you to all the exhibitors who entered and brought their dogs under me. I truly appreciate your entries and the opportunity to judge your dogs. It was a pleasure to go over them.

1st – Secret Agent Pearly Charm for Taisett

A delightful seven-month-old baby who immediately appealed for type, size and overall balance. Very pretty head with an alert, appealing expression, lovely eyes and ears. Well put together throughout, with straight, fine forelegs, pleasing angulation and a level topline, complemented by a well-set and carried tail. Despite his tender age he stood beautifully for his handler and was equally impressive once on the move, going freely and positively with a light, easy action. A very promising youngster with much to admire. Best Puppy.

2nd – Keomandi Remus

A little larger than my winner but nevertheless nicely proportioned and balanced. Presented in lovely coat and made a pleasing picture standing. Attractive head and expression with good ears, and showed himself well throughout the class. Once under way he moved freely around the ring with a light, easy action. Another promising puppy.

1st – Metamorphic Expedition to Farthinghall

Movement was the deciding factor here, this youngster really coming into his own when asked to go. Of good size and balance, with a firm, level topline which remained steady in action. Pleasing head, expressive eyes and good ears all contributed to a typical appearance. Straight and sound through the forehand with a well-made rear, he moved positively, covering the ground with ease and showing good drive from behind. Plenty of quality throughout and well deserving of Reserve Best of Breed.

2nd – Summerjades Fire Cracker

Very attractive dog with much breed appeal. Particularly liked his head and expression, with lovely dark eyes and beautifully set and carried ears giving the desired butterfly appearance. Balanced in outline with a good topline and carrying a lovely coat. He moved freely and happily with a light, positive action, presenting a most pleasing picture both standing and on the go.

1st – Keomandi Moonlight Serenade JW

Beautiful two-year-old bitch of lovely type, dainty without losing substance and very well balanced. Pleasing feminine head and expression with attractive ears and a lovely overall outline. Level through the topline with a high-set, well-carried tail and well-angulated quarters. Straight and sound in front with well-made hindquarters, and this correctness was evident on the move, where she showed a light, free-flowing and positive action. A very pleasing girl throughout.

2nd – Straz s Voskova Vienna with Farthinghall (Imp UKR)

Another quality two-year-old bitch, attractive for both type and size. She has a lovely feminine appearance, with a pleasing head, expressive outlook and good ears. Her level topline and well-presented coat completed a balanced picture. Settled well to her task and moved freely and positively around the ring. Close up to the winner in a good class.

1st – Elendil San Miguel

A beautifully constructed two-and-a-half-year-old male who impressed both standing and moving. Excellent balance throughout, with a strong, level topline and correctly high-set, well-carried tail. Particularly admired his forehand; well-laid shoulders and a very good front combined neatly with his equally well-made and angulated hindquarters. Fit and well muscled without any suggestion of coarseness. His greatest asset became apparent on the move, where he really strode out, covering the ground freely and positively with good propulsion from behind while retaining his outline. A quality dog in excellent form and my Best of Breed.

2nd – Inixia Glamour Boy at Jhanakia

Another lovely male, two years old and similar in overall type to the winner. Well constructed at both ends and balanced through the body, with a pleasing, level topline. He moved soundly and freely with a light, positive action and was presented in excellent order. Two very attractive dogs headed this class.

1st – Applebroad Pink Lady, JW

Very attractive two-year-old bitch of lovely breed type, well balanced throughout and presenting a most pleasing picture. Feminine head with a gentle, appealing expression. Well constructed fore and aft, with a firm, level topline which she retained on the move. Moved freely and elegantly with good coordination and drive from behind. Dentition is excellent. Beautifully presented and handled confidently. A quality bitch who thoroughly deserved Reserve Best of Breed.

2nd – Oaktreepark Royal Bliss

Another pleasing bitch, of a good size and nicely balanced proportions. Sweet, typical expression with an attractive head. Soundly made through the front and rear and presented a pleasing outline when standing. Moved out well with a free, easy and coordinated action. A very nice exhibit who was unfortunate to meet the winner in such good form today.

1st – Applebroad Red Prince

An attractive 2-year old dog who caught my eye on entering the ring and did not disappoint on closer examination. Excellent for size and overall balance, with a lovely neck flowing cleanly into a firm, level topline. Most appealing head, enhanced by beautiful eyes and well-set ears giving the desired gentle expression. Excellent dentition. Well made in front with a well-set and carried tail and particularly strong hindquarters, which he used to advantage, producing excellent drive on the move. His profile remained balanced and pleasing throughout. Presented and handled superbly. My Best of Breed.

2nd – Oaktreepark Royal Ava

A thoroughly feminine 4-year old bitch with the sweetest of expressions. Her lovely dark eyes and well-set ears contribute much to her very appealing head. Well balanced in outline and nicely angulated, she moved freely and elegantly around the ring with an easy, coordinated action. Presented in lovely condition and made a very pleasing overall picture. A worthy second in a good class.
