Dundee Canine Club – 6.6.26

It was a pleasure to judge at this well organised show, many thanks to the committee for their invitation and to the stewards who kept things running smoothly through the day. The icing on the cake for me was the Gundog group winner going BIS many congratulations to her owner.

Basset Griffon Vendeen (petit)

Post Grad

1 Tangaer Jemima Puddleduck at Callydena – 13 month old bitch who scores for size. Pretty correctly proportioned head, well laid shoulders and return of upper arm. Prominent fore chest she is balanced and her harsh coat is starting to come through. She moved well.

1 Ir Ch Erylan Chaud Comme Hades An Ch 23.Cw 24,25,26 – Preferred his balance over 2. Masculine head with dark eye, well put together all through and in good coat and condition. Moved well with correct tail carriage. (BOB)

2 Vysaris Baccus Dieu Du Vin JW CPW25 – Dog of lovely type with well furnished masculine head and dark eye. Correct angles fore and aft, in good coat and with thick tail. Didn’t match the movement of 1 today.

1 Goudoulait Du Greffier Du Roi Avec Claela - 10 month old bitch. Appealing head with dark eye and typical furnishings. Balanced and sound moving for one so young. Coat starting to come through. (BP)

1 Ir Ch Claela Lets Drink a Toast – 3 year old dog with masculine head and dark eye and intelligent expression. Strong neck into well made front, prominent fore chest correct depth of body and strong loin. Amazing hard rough coat and sound on the move. (BOB)

2 Ir Ch Claela Sweet Dreams Ir Jun Ch, An Ch 24. – Giving his handler a very hard time today. Appealing head, with a typical outline, and adequate angles fore and aft.

1 Exelby Grouse – Upstanding dog I would prefer a slightly stronger head. Powerful neck into adequately put together front. Level topline and correct coat well muscled, with an otter tail and moved well.  

2 - Dunnabbey Funny Girl - Chocolate bitch with a typical outline and beautiful type. Typical head lovely eye & expression. Quality bone, correct coat and otter tail. Moved OK.

1 - Deer’s Den Night Sky at Crammondkirk (Imp POL) 18 month old dog who is well made all through. Masculine head with hazel eye Strong neck and correct coat. Moved straight and true covering the ground with ease. (BOB)

Puppy Dog

 1 Fhairmhor Whiskey Mac - 6mth old with lovely masculine head, dark eye & correct pigment. Muscular neck and soundly constructed with good bone balanced and well-turned stifle. Sound mover for one so young.    

2 Orkney Mist of Camian’s at Crammondkirk – 6 mths old with masculine head dark eye and correct pigment. Well put together and in good coat, with strong loin and short hocks. Didn’t match the movement of 1 today.

Junior Dog

1 Thistlegate Sonoma Moon – Masculine head with dark eye and correct dark pigmentation. Muscular neck into adequately angled front assembly and deep ribs. Level topline and strong short loin, short hocks and with quality bone. Moved with drive.

2 Shelbreagha Hamcetta – Heavier all through than 1 but with adequate angles fore and aft and with quality bone. In good coat and correctly pigmented, he was down on his pasterns today but moved OK.

Post Graduate Dog

1 Flyngalee Topsy Turvy – 20 mths old with a masculine head dark eye and soft expression. Muscular neck into well laid shoulders and balanced with a strong loin. In good coat and condition with well turned stifles Moved with good drive. (BOB)

2 Rigerin High Hopes – 2 years old and similar comments apply. Lovely feet and short hocks just not quite the animation of 1 on the move.  

Limit Dog

1 Simon Bassett De Ria Vela For Beinangus JW (Imp Esp) - Impressive looking dog with real ring presence. Masculine head with dark eye and correct pigment muscular neck into well laid shoulders. Prominent fore chest and soundly put together with level topline and well-turned stifles. Free moving.   

2 Holinbrae Zoom Time at Glentochty - Typical in head and expression. Would prefer stronger pigmentation but balanced with soundly made front strong loin and good turn of stifle. Moved with drive.   

Open Dog

1 Happier De Ria Vela for Beinangus JW (Imp ESP) – Longer cast with masculine head dark eye and correct pigmentation. Muscular neck and deep through body with level topline. In good coat and condition, he moved well on catlike feet.

2 Aheriffmuir Glorious Lad at Glormhorcu – Typical in head with dark eye and correct pigment. Strong front construction and deep through body and with a muscular loin and well- turned stifles. Would prefer a stronger topline but well handled.

Puppy Bitch

1 Bluebraes Voyager (BOB) & 2 Bluebraes Ban Druidh – two 10 month old puppies who are litter sisters with beautiful heads, muscular necks and well made all through with short loins and correct toplines. Quality bone and well-turned stifles both moving well for their age. 1 just having the edge today as she was more settled than her sister.    

Junior Bitch

1 Crème Crew I’m the One – Balanced with a typical out line and pretty feminine head. Dark eye, correct bite and pigmentation. Beautifully put together with short hocks and well- turned stifles. Her handler needs to show more confidence to get the best from her.

Post Graduate Bitch

1 Flyngalee Dilly Dally – What a beautiful balanced bitch. Pretty head with dark eyes and correct pigmentation. Well set neat ears and muscular neck of good length. Soundly put together all through with strong loin, level topline, well-turned stifles. In good coat and muscular condition she moved with drive. One I’d like to have taken home. Grp 2.

Limit Bitch

1 Fhairmhor Moonlight Sonata at Thistlegate – This bitch is balanced with a pretty head and well-set neat ears. She has good length of neck and well-made front with fore chest. She has a strong loin and level topline, short hocks and well-turned stifles. Her movement was straight and true with drive.  

2 Cleddans New Beginnings – Pretty with dark eye and good pigmentation. Muscular neck in to well laid shoulders and with correct depth of body and level topline. She moved well on catlike feet.  

Open Bitch

1 Sandti Tiki Taka JW – A balanced bitch with feminine head correctly set ears, dark eyes and good pigment. Pleasing angles fore and aft with a level topline and strong loin she has sufficient bone and short hocks.

2 Lamancha New Adventure JW – A different type to 1 but with much to like. Feminine head and neat well-set ears. Muscular neck into body of correct depth. In good coat and condition sympathetically handled to move with long and free strides on catlike feet.

1 Oliafi Angels Dream (Barbet) – 2 year old bitch who is balanced and medium sized. Rustic in appearance with dense curly coat and nicely put together she showed powerful profile movement maintaining her topline. (BOB)

Gundog Group

1 Dalreavoch I’m on Fire (English Setter) – This 2 year old bitch caught my eye immediately on entering the ring she was in full coat and immaculately presented. Carrying her head high, her muzzle is moderately deep and fairly square and her eyes bright and expressive. Her long muscular neck flows into her well laid shoulders. Well ribbed back with a level topline held on the move. She moved with grace and powerful drive. Delighted when she later went BIS.

3 Magregor Walk of No Shame (GSP) – This young bitch has feminine head with kind expression. Muscular neck into well laid shoulders and correct depth of chest. She moved smoothly on tight feet.

4 Sh Ch Diggmere Tiger Swallowtail JW ShCEX OSW (Italian Spinone) Presents a typical outline stacke. Strongly built and deep all through he was in his best harsh jacket and well presented. Relaxed on the move he maintained his topline.

1 Bluebraes Voyager (Golden Ret) – See above

2 Caldewriver Monkey Bizz (GWP) – Well balanced skull with high set ears and strong neck of adequate length into well laid shoulders. Well put together all through with deep chest and correct topline. She has strong bone and covered the ground well on well padded feet.

3 Donurie’s Harlekuin (Hungarian Vizsla) – Pretty bitch with noble head strong neck into well laid shoulders. Well sprung ribs and slight tuck under the loin. She moved gracefully on catlike feet.

4 Aftershine Stand & Stare (American Cocker Spaniel) Quality bitch with correctly proportioned typical head. So well put together and in good coat and condition she moved effortlessly covering the ground.

2 Camusdarrach Silversands – Balanced bitch with a feminine head and good pigmentation. Soundly constructed all through and sound on the move.

2 Red granate Amber Diamond – Merry and well balanced bitch in good coat and condition. She moved well covering the ground.

2 Albadhu I’m Addicted to You – Quality bitch who is well balanced and short coupled. In good coat and condition she was free moving on well padded feet.

2 Harelferg New Tricks for umfrido SHCEX SHCOEX – 5 year Old dog who looks a picture so typical in outline without any exaggeration. Masculine head without any coarseness. Well put together all through with correct topline and in full coat and lovely condition.

1 Sh Ch Caci’s The Dream Catcher at Badcall – This outstanding bitch scores for size, beautiful moulded head and eyes of the correct shape and colour. Long neck into well laid shoulders. So soundly made and in full coat and great condition.     

2 Sh Ch Oroshaza Chukar VW CW 18 – Medium sized dog who retains his distinguished appearance. Noble head and muscular neck his sound construction is easy to see unlucky to meet 1 today on fine form.
