I would like to extend my thanks to the URC committee for inviting me to judge and for your
excellent hospitality. I was overall very pleased with the quality of the Flatcoats present today
and I must thank all the exhibitors for presenting your dogs in great condition. My steward,
David, was great and kept the ring running smoothly. Delighted to see the Best Puppy take

Puppy Dog (4, 1a)
1. Flatcharm Gameboy (Miss Kelly & Miss C Holland & Ramunno). A true puppy dog at
8 months, exactly where I’d expect him to be in development. He has a beautifully
moulded head with dark, well-shaped eyes giving the typical intelligent expression.
Good length of neck flowing well into his body. His forechest is good, he holds a
strong topline and coupling. Correct tail set and stood on strong, round feet. Moved
accurately, driving well from his hindquarters. Best Puppy Dog & BPIB. Pleased to
see him go onto Best Puppy In Show.
2. Culcrieff's Ferntower Glen of Wetnoses (Mr D E J & Mrs M A Salt). A 9 month old
puppy dog with a masculine, one-piece head and dark eye. Strong through the neck,
well placed shoulders. Good depth through the chest for his age. Held a good topline
with tail well set. A touch longer in loin than 1. Moderate in hindquarters. Moved
freely.
Junior Dog (3, 1a)
1. Moontorn Count On Me (Miss A & Mr L Bellamy & Nicklin). A well-coated 14 month
old dog with a broader masculine head and dark, well-shaped eyes. Good length of
neck, well set into his shoulders. Well balanced with moderate fore and hindquarters.
Good forechest and well ribbed. Held a typical topline with tail well set on. Stood
foursquare on strong feet. Moved with drive on a long stride. Would prefer tidier front
action.
2. Culcrieff's Ferntower Glen of Wetnoses (Mr D E J & Mrs M A Salt). Repeat from
Puppy Dog.
Yearling Dog (0 entries)
Graduate Dog (2)
1. Torwood Galactic Flyer (Ms P H Turner). A 4 year old dog, coming into his full
maturity. A well proportioned dog with true active and intelligent focus on his handler
today. One-piece in head, a little round in the eye. Head well set on a clean,
reasonably long neck. Strong in his forequarter with good forechest and return of
upper arm. Well fitting elbows. Moderate bend in stifle. Moved freely, though not the
tidiest in rear.
2. Lamesbella Elliot (Mr M & Mrs B Griffin & Grierson). A masculine head on this 20
month old dog with a slight stop and dark eye, well set onto a strong neck. He has
great depth through the chest with a gradual spring of rib, and ribbed well back with
short coupling. Strong topline with tail well set on. Very moderate fore and
hindquarters. I would prefer a little more bone to balance his substance. Moved
soundly.
Post Graduate Dog (1)
1. Murphy's Treat (Miss E Shepherdson). A 6 year old liver dog with a long and nicely
moulded head with hazel eyes which suited his coat. Intelligent expression, attentive
to his handler with enthusiastic tail action. Head well set on long, clean neck.
Moderate bend of stifle. Sound on the move but would prefer a better reaching action
with more upper arm.
Open Dog (4, 1a)
1. Sh Ch Windyhollows Ragged Robin JW (Mr E W, Mrs P J & Miss N E Colson).
Really loved the classical type of this 4 year old dog who is well proportioned. His
head is superb - totally male without being overdone - and complete with dark eyes
giving the intelligent expression. Well set on a strong, clean neck of good length.
Strong through his topline and well ribbed back with nice depth through the chest
with tight fitting elbows. Strong, moderate hindquarters with hocks well let down. Tail
well set on. Moved freely around the ring with drive, holding his profile. Well
presented in great coat and condition. Best Dog & Best Opposite Sex.
2. Hurstclough Night Owl at Flanova (Mr B & Mrs L Clark). 3 year old dog with a lovely
masculine, nicely moulded head well set on his strong neck of correct length. Well
sprung ribs. Longer in loin than 1. Moderate bend of stifle with well let down, strong
hocks. Stood foursquare on strong, round feet. A free flowing mover with an accurate
stride. Reserve Best Dog.
Puppy Bitch (6, 2a)
1. Moonstruck I’m On Fire with Moontorn (Imp Swe) (Miss A & Mr L Bellamy & Nicklin).
10 month old liver who caught my eye for her overall balance. Nicely moulded, long
head with slight stop. Clean neck of good length flowing well into her shoulders.
Good depth through the chest for her age. Short and strong loin. Moderate
hindquarters, in good muscular condition with well let down hocks. Stood foursquare
with straight legs. Moved freely and accurately.
2. Flatcharm Misabel (Miss K L Holland). A very sweet 6 month old puppy. Beautiful
one-piece head with dark, well-shaped eyes. Head well set on her strong neck of
good length, flowing nicely into her shoulders. Well sprung ribs with deep chest.
Lovely topline with tail well set on. Well bent stifles, hocks well let down. Moved
accurately with drive once settled.
Junior Bitch (6, 1a)
1. Moontorn Chasing The Dream JW (Miss A Bellamy). A 14 month old bitch good type
and presented in great condition. One piece, moderately broad head, maintaining
femininity, with well shaped eyes - though I’d prefer for them to be a shade darker.
Lovely forehand with good forechest and return of upper arm. Deep through the
chest and well ribbed back. Strong hindquarters with well let down hocks. Tail well set
on. Stood square on the neatest of feet. Moved freely with tidy rear action.
2. Gemswin Wherever I Lay My Hat at Finnashember (Mrs A & Dr I Prior). Another
nicely moulded, feminine head on this 17 month old bitch who has good substance
all through and is a lovely size. Head well set on a strong, clean neck of good length.
Another nice forehand with legs well under her body, good depth of chest. Ribs well
sprung. Held a strong topline. Longer in loin than 1. Well bent stifles with well let
down hocks. Free flowing on the move.
Yearling Bitch (8, 2a)
1. Ronevorg Whisper A Promise (Mrs N J Weston). 20 months old bitch with a feminine
one-piece head with dark eyes. Clean through the neck, flowing well into her
shoulders. Good forechest and upper arm. Well sprung ribs going well back. A tad
long in loin. Moderate bend of stifle with well let down hocks. Tail well set on and
ever-wagging. Moved with good reach and drive.
2. Pajanbeck Hold My Halo (Mr P & Mrs J & Miss S & Mrs V Egginton & Egginton &
Egginton & Davis). A 13 month old bitch, also placed 3rd in Junior. Long, nicely
moulded head well set on her strong neck. Good depth of chest and ribbed well back.
Moderate bend of stifle and hock. Stood foursquare on strong, round feet. Presented
in great coat and condition. Would prefer more forechest and upper arm to balance
her hindquarters. Moved freely once into her stride.
Graduate Bitch (2, 1a)
1. Ronevorg Can I Be Famous for Namtresa JW (Mrs D E & Mr R M Holman). A joyful
2 year old bitch who never stopped wagging. Long, nicely moulded, moderately
broad one-piece head with well shaped eyes, though I’d prefer them a shade darker.
Long, strong neck. Lovely forehand with good forechest and return of upper arm.
Good depth through the chest. Moderate hindquarters. Tail well set on. Stood
foursquare on strong, round feet. Moved accurately.
Post Graduate Bitch (6)
1. Blacktoft Avelino at Finnashember (Mrs A & Dr I Prior). Lovely well-balanced almost
4 year old bitch who I have previously awarded BPIB to. Feminine head with
intelligent expression, well set on her strong neck. Great forehand with good
forechest and return of upper arm, forelegs well beneath her body. Deep through the
brisket, well sprung ribs and short, square loin. Moderate bend of stifle and well let
down hocks. Tail well set on, which she held level on the move. Loved her profile as
she drove around the ring freely and accurately which carried her to Reserve Best
Bitch and Reserve Best of Breed.
2. Pajanbeck Nine to Five (ai) (Mr P & Mrs J & Miss S & Mrs V Egginton & Egginton &
Egginton & Davis). Another bitch I have judged and appreciated before. Nearing 5
years old and suiting maturity with good substance throughout. Very nicely moulded
one-piece head with dark eyes. Good length of neck flowing well into her shoulders.
Liked her forechest and return of upper arm. Deep through the chest and well ribbed
back. Short loin. Moderate bend of stifle, though not the strength in rear of 1. Moved
freely with excellent footfall.
Open Bitch (6, 1a)
1. Sh Ch Moontorn Better Half of Me JW ShCEx OSW (Miss A Bellamy). A well
balanced, almost 5 year old bitch presented in great coat and condition. Feminine
head, long and nicely moulded, with dark eyes giving the intelligent expression. Well
set neck flowing well into her shoulders. Correct forechest and good return of upper
arm. Deep chest with well sprung ribs going well back. Strong loin. Moderate bend of
stifle with well let down hocks. Held a strong topline and tail well set on. Stood
straight and true all round on round, strong feet. Flowed around the ring with drive
and good footfall. Best Bitch & Best of Breed.
2. Bitcon Taylor Made for Svenjak (Miss A L Gardiner). A 7 year old bitch who totally
belies her age. Feminine head, nicely moulded with well shaped eyes. Long, clean
neck flowing well into shoulders. Well ribbed back. Moderate bend of stifle with well
let down hocks. Stood foursquare with straight legs. Preferred the forehand of 1.
Moved freely and accurately with drive.
