Southampton & District Canine Association . 6th April 2026

Thank you to the Association for the invitation. Weather was glorious, the venue is beautiful. I had 2 super, competent and efficient stewards. Thank you to the exhibitors that took their placings in good spirit, and the sense of comradery was wonderful. A very enjoyable day. I had some very exciting dogs of quality.

Boston Terriers.

Puppy 2 OF 2

1. Vickvally Ruby Aura. Sassy female, of good size and balanced proportions. Unexaggerated in head, expressive eyes, cobby and compact a good complete even mouth set on a broad jaw. Clean cheek, correct ear set. Straight tight front and nicely angled rear. Ample chest width and spring. Moves soundly carries herself well for a baby. Muscular and not overdone in any way. Best Puppy. UPG 3

2. Dolce Vita Selection Dragon Tail With Shawmut ( Imp Ita). Male. Mature in head and body, well-muscled through, straight front and balanced head to body. A good depth and breadth to the chest and rib, level topline to croup. Gaits soundly and with purpose.

1. Demorace Belle Starr At Simberfour. Oh My. Good size, cobby, square well muscled body- super feminine elegant head flat cheek, correct ears, eyes full of determination and attitude. Good mouth. Straight front and rear, depth and width to the body, topline level, she is so sound on the move, full of determination and attitude, but with elegance. Picture stacked and in profile on the move. Top drawer. Res BOB

2. Demorace Atmospheric Litter brother to 1. He is everything she is only more masculine, but again not overdone, not overbearing, loved his head and eye, such an expression. Another good mouth and jaw, in hard muscular condition and true away and back. Not yet the side profile of his sister, but he is a boy and has to grow up mentally. Still very much top drawer

1. Demorace Born Free. Just when you though you had been spoiled with some beautiful exhibits already. In walks the Queen. Litter sister to the 1 & 2 of Junior. And they are like peas in a pod. Everything I said about Belle Starr applies here. I would say that this girl is just that little more compact when she moves than her sister and she was BOB over her purely on the attitude that pours out of this female. In spades. On the move she owns it. She has carriage and topline in profile, free and determined. A stunning picture stood and she is so balanced and correct. I would be flabbergasted if all three of this litter do not get their titles. They all deserve them ! BOB U Group 3.

2. Devotoblaze Hope’s Miracle. Mature bitch of good proportions. Sound on the move and everything to like. A honest female. Balanced head to body, pleasing mouth. straight in front and rear angles. Really unlucky to meet 1 in top condition

1. Tamilanda Staropramen For Akoni Young masculine male. Well bodied and muscled. Head of good proportions. Correct mouth. Expressive eyes, good pigment. Flat skull. Strong neck set on well laid shoulders, straight front. Of good bone. Well sprung ribs, Can move with that free rhythmic gait when he puts his mind to it, erratic in places. Pleasing outline stood. Best Puppy

1. Sophtspot Whirlwind 13 month female. A class act. She is in super muscular condition. Nothing exaggerated. Balanced topline stood. Loved her head proportions. Such an expressive eye, clean flat skull, straight front, deep rib well strung, strong loin correct tail. Comes alive on the move and is just poetry. Easy strides reach and drive. Clean fore and aft. Handled to her advantage in the challenge. BOB UG4

2. Hafwenna Ravenclaw Another nice girl, well made, strong front and rear, a pretty head of good proportions. , good mouth. Straight front, muscled rear, well angled. Well laid shoulders, strong body. Would like her a little shorter in loin. Good on her feet, can stride out, but not complying completely with her handler today, her topline not as consistent on the move.

1. Dalstorn Just Jiving Nice male, well made, level topline good length and width to his neck and well laid shoulders, good bone, straight front. Well-muscled rear, well defined hocks. Sound coming and going – carries himself with a good stride in profile.

1 Sophtspot Kalamity Jane With Dalticino . A lovely mature female. In excellent condition. Loved her outline. Balanced through. Of good bone, straight front and rear. Pleases in head and eye, length of neck to well laid shoulders. Strong topline and powerful rear. Completely sound with good strides a solid and precise performance. I just preferred the overall picture of the junior for BOB. Res BOB

1. Elarhill Miss Maleficent 2 year old female. Nice for size, stands on a good frame. Balanced head to body proportions. She thick flews, strong broad jaw, Nose is broad and large. Eyes well set of moderate size. Would like less wrinkling from stop to muzzle. Strong neck into broad shoulders, brisket is round and deep. Front set wide. Arches and the loin and tapers from the rib, short strong loin. Rear is set high tail loose. On the move she puts her front down correctly and skims from the rear, not completely settled but sound. 1. Ch Blenhiemstar’s Taliesan Of Jraygon JW ShCEx OSW. Mature male in hard condition. Have judged this male before many times. My opinion of him has not changed. He has matured over time. Head not overdone of balanced proportions and for me acceptable level of wrinkling he is not overdone at all. Well-muscled and displays classic shape from the side view. Dips at the shoulder and rises to the croup. Tail loose but tidy. He is foot perfect on the move and displays that roll as he should. Not as enthusiastic as I would like but sound and honest. BOB

1. Bincombefarm Morsmordre JW . Male, Brindle. Solid muscle condition. Cobby with a good cut up. Nice breadth and depth to the rib and chest. Straight front set wide. Well arched neck. Narrows to strong loin. Nicely angulated rear. Moves soundly and carried himself well, correct gait from the rear. An honest dog. BOB.

1. Roopec Just One More JW. Absolutely beautiful female just 14 months old. Too much to like to put in a short critique. Her head and eye is exquisite. She is foxy and twinkly. Her whole head is balanced expressive eyes. Ears set well. In such beautiful dense harsh coat thick from the neck laying close from the shoulder. Sturdy body and straight legs, broad and deep but feminine across the body, short strong back, tight loins onto a well let down rear in abundance of ‘culotte’ to the thighs. She has that typical gait on the move, short and brisk but with intention. Absolutely top draw! BOB Shortlisted in a strong group.

1. Middanwinter War Horse At Kerelkoor JW Lovely male with good proportions. Just off square with good depth to the rib, straight front in good bone. Head balanced, earrings correct and strong. Correct almond eye with warm kind expression. Good bite. In good coat and featherings correctly placed, tail carried out and correct length. Tight feet, level topline. In good muscle condition. Not at all overdone. Sound and light on the move, tight elbows with good reach. Would like more orange red colouring to the body if I am to be picky. But an honest representative of the breed. 1. Gladsheim Acer At Jumasue 7 year old male. In absolutely immaculate condition and presentation. Balanced shape on profile. In good mid bone, well laid shoulders and length of neck. Super handsome head – almond dark eye, excellent pigment, good muzzle skull balance, full earrings and feathering. Straight front assembly lovely spring if rib, short loin Strong rear thighs well let down hocks. Feathered correctly, tail set off slight croup slope and reaches hock. Well feathered. Absolutely sound on the move flowing strides. A little pleased with his tail in moments, but it doesn’t distract from him overall. Super temperament and beautifully handled. BOB UGp 2

2. Millhanger Kemboy Another mature boy at 7 years. Another in super hard condition and excellent presentation. He too has a super head and eye. Loved his expression. Excellent pigment and earrings, good ear lengths. Moderate neck on well laid shoulders, straight front – all feathered and coated correctly. Strong rear angles and muscle tone. Tail set off the slight croup slope from a hard topline. Good rib spring. Also has a super profile on the move – to be picky he could be a shade shorted in length and up on leg, but by margins and I had to separate these boys with something! Both such a credit to the breed.

Correct feet with feathering. Good coat and feathering across the mane and legs. Tail set correctly and carried over full plumage. Moves soundly for her age – yet to mature. Best Puppy. Res BOB

Balanced body, good spring of rib, strong loin and muscled rear. In good coat, moderate mane and appropriate feathering. Tail set high and carried correctly in full plume. Steady on the move, straight and free, holds herself well. BOB

1. Oshalees Time to Shine Siler female. Oh so pretty, super clean head and dark eye. Good mouth. She is well made with good bone, short back, good length of neck, tight feet well muscled for her age. Tail set correct and she carries it well. On the move she carries herself and holds her topline. Still needs to mature to be foot perfect, but its all there. Presented beautifully, handled gently Best Puppy and UPG 4

2. Afterglow Posh Spice – This is also a really smart girl. In a wealth of coat that would benefit from some sculpting as she is all hair no dog to look at. To handles she is solidly made, short backed, super head and eye, full poodle attitude expression and nice shape stacked. On the move she can hold herself, but was a little all over the place- needs a shorter lead, slower pace until she matures.

1. Afterglow Gilbert Grape. – Toy male. In a wealth of hair and topknot. Underneath he is well made, finer in bone that I would like. Super clean head and skull, nice eye shape. Good length of neck, short back. Tail set well. Sadly he was tail shy today and didn’t carry it all the time, but when he did it was correct and he has a smart profile. Just needs to get his head in the game – and it will come!

1. Zandvoort Eternal Flame For Pyrkees Keeshond I have met before. I love her she makes me laugh as her agenda and her handlers are not the same and she is not backing down. Her attitude just oozes! She is I love her compact body, well laid muscular shoulders and front. Chest is of good depth and well sprung. On sturdy legs, straight front and rear. Abundance of harsh coat. Good round padded feet.

Balanced head, dark eye well set, very expressive eyebrows.

She can move with a clean action she is purposeful and sound.

1. Ch Kitsune The Lioness At Izlou ( AI) Well WOW. This female screams quality the minute she stepped in. Black German Spitz Mittel. Her outline is compact, off square, holds herself and carries herself with such importance. Under the wealth of coat is a strong muscular body with strong loin and fair tuck up. Tight elbows into her chest with a nicely spring rib. Shoulders are well laid, forelegs straight. Balanced for height and length. Correct high set tail carried over with a wealth of coat. Stands foursquare and parallel from every angle. Foot perfect on the move, holding herself. Completely effortless. Exquisite head piece, nothing over or underdone. Absolutely loved her. BAVNSC UG1 and thrilled to learn she was a multi cc champion, and then that she went Best In Show. I feel honoured to have had the opportunity to put my hands on her.

2. Jodaks Party All Night With Barnlou. A really beautiful and elegant Lhasa Apso female I have judged before. I really like so much about her. She has a beautiful eye, well set and good head balance. Lots of straight heavy coat in excellent presentation

Correct tail set and carriage, feminine bone but with depth and spring of rib – strong loin and strong straight rear Hocks parallel and clean on the move. Unfortunately on the move whilst she was sound she was reluctant. She holds herself but you can see she isn’t flowing. I later discovered she is not a fan of grass rings. A shame because she is so beautiful .

1. Jadoremy Lion Of Juda – what an exciting b&w Shih Tzu male. So much to like. Super head shape, correct muzzle, nice wide jaw- super mouth. Strong and deep across the chest and rib, of good length and spring of rib, strong loin and straight rear. Well muscled. Clean feet on the move and strides out with reach and drive. Stood his profile is balanced. Bright future !

1. Yuleong Special Edition – Korean Jindo. Oh my. One of the highlights of the day for me. This young female is exquisite in every way. Nothing about her is overdone, she is so pretty, super expression to her eyes. She really has an air about her. Balanced outline, well laid shoulders moderate neck, strong straight front legs, level topline, well sprung across the rib. Moderate angulation to the rear. Completely unassuming in profile but really has a presence. She moves with purpose and foot perfect strides. Carriage and attitude in spades. I am a little bit in love !

1. Sensation Vom Tespelkooi Of Valleyrise VW (IMP DEU) What a treat. This girl is 11 years young and in better condition than some younger dogs of all breeds. She is demure for the breed but really carries herself with quiet importance. Nothing at all overdone about her, but all in such super alignment and balance. Feminine but strong. Still in hard muscle condition. Super head and eye, coat is still in the condition of a young dog. She is foot perfect and completely effortless. I loved the aura around her; she exudes breed type in spades. Honoured to have had her to put my hands on. I later learned she was BOB at Crufts this year and I can see why.

1. Larune Gift Wrapped For Vicmar ( IKC) – Standard poodle. Beautiful young female, oozes quality, she has the most exquisite head and expression, eyes are full of mischief. Good length of neck and well laid shoulders, straight front, good feet, nicely sprung rib, short loin and well angled rear – tail set on correctly and carried away as it should. In excellent coat and presentation, handled sympathetically. When she gets going and stops ‘poodling about ‘ she is so sound with the spring and air of grace that a poodle should have, she deportment is mature for a female her age. Exciting times to come !
