Hyde & District Canine Association 18th April 2026

I would like to thank the committee for giving me the opportunity to judge, it was such an honour and a real pleasure to be a part of such a successful show, it was incredibly well organised and the atmosphere was brilliant from start to finish. The food was delicious so thank you to the two wonderful caterers who put on the delicious spread. I would also like to thank my stewards - Jacqui and Jayne who were very professional and worked hard to make sure the ring ran smoothly. To say there was a championship show on the same day I was thrilled to see such superb quality so a massive thank you to the exhibitors for bringing their beautiful dogs under me and I wish you all the best for the future.

1. Saafan, Ms M – Geovanic Boxa Punch

Lively 7 month old male, brindle & white. Very pleasing head, dark eyes with wide nostrils & lovely expression. Straight front with tight feet, Square in profile, good bone & substance for age, correct angulation, developing well. Powerful free flowing movement. Presented in great condition and beautifully handled. One to watch for the future. BOB & BPIB & WPG3.

2. Saafan, Ms M – Geovanic Make Me Blush

Litter sister to 1, quite raw compared to her brother. Brindle but lacked stripes so appeared black. Feminine head with a dark eye, wide nostrils and lovely expression. Straight front with tight feet, square in profile. Very enthusiastic on the move, she seemed to be loving her day out so she was a handful for her handler but he did a great job with her.

1. Saafan, Ms M - Geovanic Roamin’ For Love

Litter brother to both puppies so very similar attributes except he is slightly longer in leg than his siblings. Brindle & white male. Pleasing head with dark eye, straight front, tight feet, developing nicely with good bone. Balanced angulations. Moved well for age. Handled well.

1. Marina, Mrs J – Marinbox Murder In Three Acts

7 Year old red & white male. Head not fully typical of the breed but lovely expression, dark eye and wide nostrils. Lovely straight front with tight feet. Good bone & substance, pleasing square outline, moved soundly covering the ground well. In great condition and handled well. AV Veteran winner.

8 month old girl. Full of life. Pleasing feminine head with correct proportions & lovely calm expression with good dentition. Straight front with tight feet. Front & rear angulation balanced. Correct tight feet. Would prefer her to be shorter in body. Great substance & bone. Moved with purpose & drive. Handled & presented well. BPIB

2. Abell, Mrs J & Mr N – Dortmund Showstopper

10 month old pretty girl. Feminine head, dark eye with a kind, calm expression, correct earset and good dentition. Correct front with tight feet. Muscular neck, good topline, good substance & bone. Balanced angulations front & rear. Lovey temperament. Moved with purpose & drive and handled and presented well. Both beautiful puppies so it was a very difficult choice and im sure they would swap places on another day.

1. Moss, Miss C A – Chantavory’s Wonder Boy

16month old male of good type. Attractive clean head of correct proportions with good dentition. Very powerful masculine boy with arched, muscular neck leading to a broad & deep chest and straight front with correct feet. Great bone & substance. Lovely shape with correct topline & tail. In hard condition. Balanced angulation front & rear. Lively boy with a great temprement who showed great strength and power. Moved with power & drive. Handled well. Definitely one to watch for the future.

2. Fell, Mrs J & Mr M – Taneven Dutch

17month old male. Lovely clean head with correct proportions, dark eye correct ears and very expressive with good dentition. Muscular neck leading to a straight front, deep chest but would prefer more width. Balanced front and rear angulation. Correct topline & tail. Lovely temperament. Good reach & drive. Would prefer him to be ever so slightly shorter in leg.

2 year old girl. Feminine head of correct proportions with a dark eye and correct ears. Kind, calm expression with good dentition. Muscular neck. wide and deep chest, tight feet. Balanced angulation front & rear. Lovely shape but carrying a little too much weight today. Moved soundly. Handled well.

2 year old masculine male. Extremely handsome with correct head proportions with an alert expression and good dentition. Straight front, wide & deep chest with tight feet, lovely shape, correct coat with dark tan markings. Excellent temperament. Correct topline & tail. Excellent bone & substance. Balanced angulation front & rear. In super hard condition. Moved with power & drive. Handled beautifully. BOB & WG4.

1. Colton, Mr M – Chayo Play With Fire

17 month old powerful male. Pleasing masculine head of correct proportions with a dark almond eye , neat ears correctly set and correct bite. Strong muscular neck leading to a straight front with large, compact feet. Deep chest with moderate angulation front & rear. Balanced and a very nice outline with sloping topline which he held on the move along with a waving plume. Powerfully built with good bone & substance.

Fabulous thick course coat. Presented well. Moved well with power & drive. In super hard condition, he’s certainly fit for function. BOB & WG2.

22 month old male. Full of life. Masculine head of correct proportions, dark eye and small, neat ears that are set correctly. Muscular neck leading to a straight front and tight feet. Good width & depth of chest. Good shoulder placement with good angulation front & rear. Longer in body than 1. Fabulous coat of correct texture. Powerfully built and well boned. Moved well. Challenged hard for BOB.

2 year old pretty girl. Feminine head with small neat ears set correctly along with a correct bite. Straight front, tight feet. Well placed shoulders, balanced angulation front & rear. Lovely coat. Carrying a little excess weight today but moved well. She was very unsettled today but was handled beautifully.

Just over 2 year old. Beautiful feminine head with correct proportions. Lovely temperament and handled beautifully. BOB

11 month old black male. Very handsome with a pleasing head of correct proportions and a keen expression. Good bone & substance and almost square. Balanced angulation front & rear. A very pleasing outline. Moved with power and drive holding his topline. Good coat. Maturing nicely, a promising young dog. Handled & presented well. BP AVNSC.

1. Shaw & Dandy, Mr A & Miss L – Gercekask Crime Lord JW

Handsome male of 17 months. Beautiful head & expression. Excellent type with a fabulous coat. Straight front & compact feet, Good reach of neck with a correct topline, well sprung ribs & strong loin. Plenty of bone & substance. Very balanced, such a pleasing outline. Sound mover and light on his feet, however I would prefer slightly more reach. In super hard condition, certainly fit for function. Very well presented and handled to perfection. I was thrilled to see him go RBIS. Best AVNSC, G1 & RBIS.

2. Smith, Mr N & Mrs W J – Oldeely Swiss Etziken Rubin

13 month old handsome black male. Very pleasing head with a round dark eye, wide nostrils with correct ear set and scissor bite. Short, muscled neck with a straight front, good width & depth of chest with well placed shoulders. Ribs well sprung with a short strong loin with correct rear angulation. Very pleasing outline and well balanced with a beautiful coat. In super hard condition. Powered around the ring with precise and sound movement holding his tail correctly whilst on the move. Handled & presented beautifully. This was a really hard decision between these two and I’m sure on another day they would swap places.

2.5 yr old black & tan male. Handsome boy with wedge shaped head and a dark eye with correct bite. Would prefer a better ear set. Strong neck, straight front with well placed shoulders. Chest moderately wide & deep with flat ribs. Would prefer a slightly better topline. Lovely coat. Sound mover.

2. Pooley, Miss K – Kavita’s English Tea

18 month old fawn girl of good size. Feminine head with a lovely expression and wide nostrils, but would prefer tighter eyes. Super bone & substance. Sound on the move. Good angulation front & rear. She was very nervous and lacked confidence so was rather unsettled.

Muscular neck, straight front and large strong feet. Ribs well sprung, level back with large bushy tail set high. Correct angulation front & rear. Good bone & substance.

Very pleasing outline. Heavy coat of correct texture. Powerful male and covers the ground with ease. Very lively so gave his handler a hard time. Lovely temperament.

PUPPY WORKING GROUP

PWG1 & RBPIS – Collins, Mr P – Crimlisk Romanee Conti (Bullmastiff)

Red boy of 10 months. He immediately caught my eye as he entered the ring, he totally demands your attention. Classic head piece with an expression that melts you.

He’s not going to be the biggest male but he’s balanced with great bone & substance.

Straight front with tight feet. Wide & deep chest. Balanced angulation front & rear. A little bum high at the moment but I’m sure his topline will level out with age. Moves with power & purpose. Great temperament. I was thrilled to see him take RBPIS, I am sure he will have a promising future.

PWG2 – Little & Mitton, Miss J & Mr L – Grafmax Arthur of Camelot (Dobermann)

8 month old handsome male. Head balanced with an almond eye. Straight front with cat like feet. Square body with correct topline. Good bone & substance. Moved well. Another one to watch for the future.

10 month old blue girl. Correct head with beautiful expression, straight front with cat like feet, moderate angulation front and rear. Good size with good bone & substance. Pacing at times but did enough for me to see her free flowing movement.
