West Of England Collie Society.

My grateful thanks to the committee for their kind invitation to judge their breed club open show and to the exhibitors for their entry.. The weather was perfect for showing dogs outside at this super venue with good sized rings that allowed the dogs to move. I was pleased with the overall quality of the dogs shown under me, however I'd like to mention that I found a few dogs to be too short in body length, almost verging on being square, some short tails and some small eyes, these things need to be watched.

VD (1/1).

MPD (2/1). 1. Roughrigg Revved’N Ready, at 6 months of age he’s still a baby, but there is much to admire about him. His head is well balanced and maturing along the right lines, dark almond shaped eye with the sweetest of expression and well set mobile ears. He has good forehand construction and balanced real angulation. I like his overall height to length and he has adequate bone. Needs to settle on the move, but did enough to win BP

PD (1/0). 1. Rocheview Marshal Of Will. Attractive 8 month old tricolour who has a good outline and overall balance. Masculine wedge shaped head that is maturing nicely with correctly set dark expressive eyes. Well arched neck with good layback, I would prefer a slightly longer upper arm. Good topline that was held on the move, correct over the croup and good tail length. Moved ok and held his shape well.

JD (2/2).

SYD (1/0). Brookynut Clyde Barrow. A very promising 15 month old sable who is so very well made. Beautiful head and expression, strong well arched neck into well laid shoulders with correct return, firm backline, good over the croup, well let down stifle and short powerful hocks that he used to advantage. Very sound coming and going, and a free ground covering side action that won him BD & RBOB

PGD (3/0). 1. Brookynut Clyde Barrow. 1st in previous class. 2. Ultimate Result Du Clos De Sea-Wind At Gataj (IMP FRA). Mature tricolour shown in really super coat and condition, masculine throughout, balanced height to length and good tail length that was carried correctly on the move 3. Redvicki’s Raffles At Chelborn

LD (3/0). 1. Serenlas Black Magic. A very eye-catching tri coloured male shown in full coat and pristine condition. Well made masculine head with parallel planes and good length of muzzle, dark obliquely placed eyes and neat mobile ears. Good length of neck, level topline, good forequarters with well developed chest and balanced rear. Moved soundly in all directions. RBD 2. Ladnar Makeithappen For Nikal. Blue merle and tan of good colour and coat texture. Smaller type than my class winner, but a nice dog to go over. Moved freely but would prefer a better tail carriage. 3. Amalie A Chance To Shine.

OD (1/0). 1. Twas Baron Of Virginia At Rocheview (IMP USA) Tricoloured mature male with good overall outline and balance. He has a well made masculine head although I would have preferred a sweeter expression, strong neck into good shoulders, firm backline with correct slight rise over the loin, good tail length that was carried correctly and he moves soundly and with purpose.

VB (4/1). 1. Samhaven Sound Effects. 8 year old sable bitch with the loveliest of heads, shown in good coat and condition, totally feminine throughout and of excellent breed type. BV. 2. Santaloly’s Sky Amidalas VW. ShCEx. At 11 years old this girl is a real tribute to her owner, shown in super condition and so well muscled. Good type and sound in all directions. 3.SamhavenTime Is Money With Nikal VW

PB (2/1). 1. Lynocean Loves Cast A Spell. Feminine puppy with very sweet expression, dark eye and well set mobile ears. Correct height to length, moderate bone and well coated. She needs to settle on the move. BPB

SYB (3/1). 1. Millubie Parachute Into Wassail (IMP SRB). Very glamorous young bitch, with a correctly proportioned head, good outline, good shoulder placement although a little short in upper arm, balanced rear angulation and she moved well. To be critical I’d like her size bigger. RBB. 2. Brookynut Happy Feet. Another very nice young bitch, shown in beautiful coat and handled to advantage. I preferred the movement of my class winner but otherwise there was little to split them.

PGB (4/2). 1. Serenlas Borrowed Heaven. Blue merle bitch with well fitted jacket of good colour. She is well made, but carrying too much weight. 2. Elshajo Loves Gift From Shulune. Pretty headed bitch, not as well off for bone as my winner and although she was sound coming and going I’d like to see her move out with more purpose.

LB (6/2). 1. Riverside Song Ice Cream Girl (IMP ROM). This pretty 6 year old bitch was my star of the day. Her head is balanced and a correct blunt wedge shape, dark expressive eyes and well set mobile ears. A well arched neck of sufficient length into a textbook front assembly correct topline that was held on the move, good length of tail that was carried low. I loved her over all balance, but where she really excelled was on the move, she has plenty of reach and drive and covers the ground effortlessly. BB & BOB 2. Serenlas Edge Of Heaven. Another well made bitch of good breed type, well balanced and feminine throughout. Well off for bone and neat feet. 3. Atirakin Wild Hialeah At Rocheview.

OB (2/1). 1. Wassail Call The Midwife. Stood alone in the class but a worthy winner. Feminine bitch of excellent breed type and shown in super well muscled condition. Good front angulation and really well made rear quarters that allowed her drive from behind.
