Taunton & District Canine Association

Breed: Beagle

Many thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge this lovely breed at your show.

It was well laid out, well run, and my stewards were brilliant.

Onto the dogs…

Puppy

1. Breeze’s Parkbreeway Buckle Bunny- 6 months old, tri colour bitch, At this stage oozes type, beautiful head with a lovely expression, classic shape and moulding to skull, well set ears, good length of neck into a brilliant front assembly, stood on good bone and feet, nice briskest and length to height ratio, good topline leading into a well set and carried sturn… well let down and angled behind, on the move she was excellent in profile, coming towards she toed in slightly, going away she was parallel, exciting future ahead!

2. Daniel’s Michelroy Earl Grey- 9 months old, a more substantial type, pleasing head and expression, good length of neck into excellent front assembly, good topline leading into a well set and carried stern, difficult to added on the move, giving the handler a Very hard time.

Graduate

1. Adey’s Boskenna Enchanted At Rubeusbay- A lovely type, stronger head than I’d like for a bitch, good neck into ok shoulders, lacks length of upper arm, well held topline, correctly set and carried stern, parallel out and back.

Limit

All absent.

Open

1.Scarlett’s Vanitonia Enchanted over Michelroy- This bitch is a lovely type and style, good substance throughout, her head is a little flat in skull, this didn’t take away from the fact she has a soft expression though, excellent length of neck into well made front assembly which is displayed on the move also, her top line is firm and level, stern correctly carried and well set, her rear is well let down, correctly angled, good length from hock to heel… she has a lovely temperament also, on the move she is true coming and going, on profile she displays correct foot fall, no hesitation in awarding her BOB

1. Bidey’s Redcap The Courier- Lovely type, good forehand, well constructed throughout, head was of good proportions but I found eyes to be light, good length of neck correct topline and tail set. Longer cast than my ideal.
