Pollard Canine Society

Pollard Canine Society Premier Open Show

3rd May 2026

In the cold and rain, Pollard CS put on a show that was for all intense and purposes, doomed to fail, that is if you didn’t count on the amazing committee and helpers that ensured that the show would go on. The exhibitors were made of strong stuff, to turn out, put up tents and show in the cold and rain, both handlers and dogs shivering. It wasn’t the best circumstances for anyone. However, there was a lot of smiles and laughter, I think this type of event brings people together, so despite the conditions, I thoroughly enjoyed my day. In time, people will talk about it, starting with ‘do you remember when…..?

German Shorthaired Pointer

Puppy 3

Lovey class of puppies and all litter mates.

1st Staley Jomeel Quicksilver

Promising male of 7 months headed this class. Stood, his outline is pleasing, his head is still developing but he has a soft and gentle expression. He has depth through the body and good forechest. He is well boned with lovely compact feet. His neck is of good length and flows into his level topline. He moved out with effortless, ground covering strides. I was later informed that his sire was my BOB today. BP RBOB and pleased to see him make PG2.

2nd Cokerill Jomeel Quick Learner

Litter bother to 1 and at this stage he is not as forward as his brother. He has a lovely head, his body is of good proportions, but he lacks the depth of his litter mate at the moment. He’s well-muscled for his age, but he was a little erratic on the move.

3rd Lang Jomeel Queen Bee

Junior 2 (1)

1st Gray Hafwenna How you Doin

14 month male, who’s was a little broad in skull for me, decent length of neck, straight in front, I would have liked a better return of upper arm, but he has enough depth of chest and his rear quarters are well muscled, with well bent stifles. He moved out well.

PG 2 (1)

1st Samria Winterwell The Card Player JW

Super head on this 19-month solid liver male. He has good body proportions, sadly when stacked today, he was roaching his back. His chest is deep; he has well muscled thighs and well bent stifles. He moves out really well but was just throwing his hocks out as he was going away, in profile he has good extension.

Open 6 (2)

1st Bowler Sh Ch Winterwell Iggy Inch JW

This lovely male of 4 years caught my eye today, his head is beautiful, masculine and in proportion to the rest of his body. He is well angled at both ends, chest is deep with well sprung ribs. He has good bone and lovely feet, his topline is level and he held this on the move, he moved with such drive and reach from his correctly angled front. Pleased to award him BOB.

2nd Peebles Seasham Too Much Heaven JW

I have judged this pretty feminine bitch before and have no reason to change my opinion of her. She is quality all though, she makes a lovely shape when stacked. She is all in proportion, her head is balanced with dark eye. She comes into her own on the move as she powers around the ring, she has great extension and drive from her well-muscled quarters.

Spaniel Welsh Springer

Junior 2

Two litter mates in this class of 8 months whom I’m sure will change places.

1st Harrison Glenbrows Symphony

What a sweetie, she was a little unsettled today with the cold and rain but she is lovely. Her head melted my heart, she is so pretty, with lovely dark eye. She has super length of neck into her correct front angulation. She has a balanced outline with depth to body, she has good width of thigh and moderately bent stifle. She moved out well with ground covering strides. BP RBOB

2nd Harrison Glenbrows Manuscript

Litter brother to 1, I just preferred the front angulation of his sister. He has a lovely masculine head, which is balanced with dark eye. His neck is of good length, leading into his level topline with slightly arched loin. He has good depth of chest and he is balanced. He is straight in front with decent bone. He moved out well in all directions.

There’s lots to like about this male of just 6 months, his head is developing and is balanced. His neck is strong and flows into his level topline. He is well bodied for one so young with forechest developing and chest down to elbow. He has lovely front angulation with good return of upper arm, I was really taken with him on the move, he was true coming and going and strides out in profile. BOB & BP

Open 6 (3)

1st Dobbs Kalimor Summa Love JW

This bitch has a lovely outline when stacked. Her head is balanced with good eye colour. Her neck is of good length, strong and muscular. She has lovely depth and spring of rib. Rear quarters are correctly angled and well-muscled with well-turned stifle. She moved effortlessly around the ring with her hind feet parallel to the front. Such a shame that in the challenge she had a change of handler, which caused her to be unsettled on the stack.

2nd Spavin & Chevalier Ashstern Delphinius

Masculine male of 6 years. His head is balanced, he has good length of neck, depth to body and firm loins. He is straight in front with good bone and feet. His rear quarters are well muscled, on the move today, he had a tendency to lose his topline.
