I’d like to thank the officers and committee for the invitation to judge today. They are a small team and put on a great well organised show. To my two stewards, thank you for your help, and of course to the Labrador exhibitors for your lovely entries.

Puppy Dog 1 (1)

Puppy Bitch 1

1st Smith Flyenpyg Swynona Ryder

Promising puppy of 8 months, she makes a good shape stood, feminine head, that is developing nicely. Neck of good length, straight front with good return of upper arm, placing forelegs well under body. She is developing well in chest; she has good depth and well sprung ribs giving that desired barrel shape. Short coupled, well-muscled rear quarters, good width of thigh and well bent stifle. She moves out well holding her shape, she just needs to tighten up a little at the back. I just felt was a little shorter coupled, than her kennel mate in the challenge for BP, pleased to see her awarded BPIS3.

Junior 4 (2)

1st Smith Flyenpyg Agatha Crispy

Stylish black bitch of 9 months. A shade longer than her kennel mate who won the previous class. That said there is a lot to like about this feminine bitch. Head is balanced with broad skull; she has good length of neck and a firm topline. Front is straight with good bone and feet. She is still developing in rib but has decent depth. Rear quarters well angled, she strides out on the move with good reach and drive and is true both coming and going.

2nd Stewart Timouron Sign Of The Times

16-month Chocolate male, masculine head that is balanced. Neck of good length, he has plenty of substance, good depth and rib. I would have liked a firmer topline, but he has well-made rear quarters, and he used them well on the move.

This 2 years black bitch has a pretty head that is balanced, enough neck leading into her level topline, she has ample depth and good rib, she was just a little heavy for me, but she makes a nice shape stood has well angled rear quarters with good bone and feet. She moved out well in all directions.

3rd Harris Shadbudpips Aghois Sostis

Handsome Yellow male of 3 years, lovely head, broad in skull, dark eye that gives a lovely expression. His front is well angled, he has lovely depth and barrel rib, well boned legs, to be picky his feet could be tighter. Rear quarters are muscular, with good width of thigh and well-turned stifle, he moves out steadily in all directions with correct tail carriage.

1st Smith Flyenpyg Jurgen Chopp JW

Quality black male, masculine head with broad skull and proportionate length to muzzle. Strong muscular neck of good length leading into his level topline. Front assembly is correct, stands on well boned legs and tight strong feet. Chest is deep and broad with lovely barrel ribs, short coupled, well-muscled rear quarters that he used to advantage on the move. He holds a good shape standing and, on the move, and he moves out showing good reach and drive and is true both coming and going. Coat is of good texture, and he carries his otter tail correctly, no hesitation in awarding him BOB and pleased to see him make the short list for BIS.
