I’d like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this well-run show and for the hospitality afforded me. Thank you to the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to examine your lovely dogs and for the sporting way in which my decisions were received.

English Setter

Puppy 4 (2)

1st White Paduan Frankincense 

Pretty feminine OB bitch of 11½ months, head is developing with good eye colour. Good length to neck decent angles both ends, she stands on well boned legs and neat feet. She is well bodied with well sprung ribs. Moves out well in profile but is still a touch lose in front BP

2nd Lee Indibrooke Fraizer

This 11-month BB&T boy was really giving his handler a hard time, but there is lots to like about him, he is mature in head with good depth of muzzle. He’s well off for depth with lovely bone. Once settle he moved well. I understand this was his and his handler’s 2nd show. Don’t give up on him, remember the 3 P’s, Practice, Patience and Perseverance, and you will have some fun with him. 

Junior 1

1st Naulls Nellasett Truly Truly 

What a sweetie, she is super feminine, has a lovely outline when stood, head is balanced with dark eye, she has a good length of neck, straight front, decent front angulation although I would have like a little more return of upper arm, she has good depth of chest, level topline that she held on the move, well angled rear quarters. She moves out steadily in all directions.

1st Beasley Latjeata Cup of Kindness JW 

Elegant OB bitch, such a pretty head that is balanced with good eye. She makes a good shape when stood and that is held on the move. Her neck is of good length with a slight arch that flows seamlessly into her firm level topline. She has good angulation at both ends, her depth of brisket is correct with well sprung ribs. She moves out with effortless style. Shown in excellent coat and condition. RBOB

2nd Whittington Culverwell Magic Touch 

Well balanced OB Male, head is masculine with oval skull and well-defined stop. Neck is long and muscular, well-proportioned throughout, with excellent ribs. He was not showing himself off well today, but he moved well once settled

3rd Thacker Peritye Follow the Sun

1st Hepburn Tattersett Rainbow Legacy 

This 6 years male needs to be handled to be appreciated. Well-proportioned head with lovely oval dark eye giving a soft expression. Good reach of neck into his firm topline. Well-developed forechest, with lovely depth and well spung ribs, His rear quarters are well muscled, his stifle is well bent with a good width of thigh. He comes into his own on the move as he really strides out with his graceful free action. Shown in good coat and condition BOB

2nd Whittington Juldeane Line of Duty 

Built on lighter lines than one, and I would have like a slightly longer muzzle to balance his head. Eyes are dark and expressive, neck his firm and of good length, decent depth, well bent stifle and good musculation of thigh. Moved well.

1st Mcdonald Sh Ch Roanjora Cremant D’Alsace JW

What a cracker! Such a stylish bitch, I was blown away with her. She may have stood alone here today, but her quality and presence shone through. When stood she shows an athletic appearance, head is feminine and well balanced with dark eye. She is straight in front and stands on good bone and feet. Chest is deep with well-developed forechest, ribs are well sprung, she is correctly angled both ends with rear quarters muscular with well bent stifle and good width of thigh. Her movement is first class, with her long strides and drive behind. She makes good use of her tail on the move and was a joy to watch. I am not surprised she has her title. BOB
