I thoroughly enjoyed my day at this friendly and well-run show judging the Special Award Classes, it was an honour to be invited. Many thanks to the committee for looking after me so well. My thanks also go out the exhibitors for the super entry that gave me the opportunity to go over some lovely Cockers.

Specials Award Classes

Class A SA P 8 (2)

1st Bindza Laurellakes Petit Bijou

 A delightful black bitch of 9 months headed this lovely class of puppies, head is balanced, muzzle square, eyes dark giving a soft and gentle expression. She has a good length of neck leading into finely sloping shoulders, with corresponding return of upper arm. She has ample fore chest, straight front, lovely depth, strong rear quarters, she moved out merrily and with drive using her tail and maintaining a level topline throughout.

2nd Beswick Kirlinjis Espresso Martini for Cachel

Wow, I was really taken with this super B&W who at 6 months and a whisker is Cocker through and through. Her head is, as you would expect it to be at this age, immature, but not so in body, she is compact and sturdy. She already has fore chest and depth, she holds a lovely balanced shape when stacked and she’s so positive on the move, holding her shape well and making good use of her tail. Will watch her future progress.

1st Gray Purdyspride Rave On JW

2 years B/R male whose head is masculine, he has well angled forequarters with decent length of neck. Topline level, stacked his outline is balanced, compact and cobby, he has lovely spring of rib, and well-developed chest which won him the class. Rear quarters are well muscled, and he moved out with positive action.

2nd Bindza Laurellakes Who’s That Girl

Pretty black bitch of 6 years. Head is feminine and balanced, and she looks at you with such a soft expression. She is well off for neck which flows into her topline, I preferred the forequarters of 1, however she has good depth and has well-muscled rear quarters. She moved out happily and true.

Class C SA O 3

1st Kettle & Marvay Lujesa Laurellakes Angel Whisper

Super black bitch of 3 years. She is feminine throughout with pretty balanced head. Her muscular neck is of good length and flows seamlessly into her level topline, she has strength through the loin sloping gently to her correct tail set. She’s well off for depth; her rear quarters are rounded and well-muscled. Her stifle is well bent, and her thigh is of good width, she puts her rear quarters to good use on the move as she drives around the ring.

2nd Collings Chativore Sea Pebble at Colmanadakev

2.5 years B/R bitch, she has a pretty head, she makes a lovely compact shape stacked, and has good depth and strength though her body, and her ribs are well sprung. I just preferred the rear quarters of 1, but she moved out well.
