Parti-Coloured Cocker Spaniel Club

I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge the Parti-coloured Cocker Spaniel club Open show and the exhibitors for allowing me the opportunity to judge their lovely cocker spaniels.

Class 1- Minor Puppy Dog (2,0) 

1st Masters and Dott, Manchela Ring of Fire, 8 ½ month old blue roan, presents a balanced compact overall picture. Head of good proportion with dark expressive eyes. Muscular neck into well placed shoulder, good return of forearm, straight fronts legs with neat feet. Level firm topline, short loin, rounded hindquarters. Good angulation behind and short below hocks. Moved with drive and using his tail well. RBPIS 

2nd Norie-Miller, Ryallcourt Rocket Man with Tanrini 7 month old black and white, balanced head with a good stop and square muzzle. Muscular neck of moderate length. Good angulation fore and aft. Well off for bone with big spring of rib and deep through brisket. Good tail set. Round hindquarters. Moved out well. Just a little longer cast than 1. 

Class 2- Minor Puppy Bitch (5,2) 

1st Williams, Wilmerella Celtic Thistle 6 month old orange roan, Raw baby who showed all the enthusiasm of a baby cocker. Sweet head with dark eyes that harmonise with her coat colour. Moderate length of neck into well placed shoulder. Good spring of rib and short through loin. Tail set on well, good turn of stifle and short below hock. Moved out happily with an ever wagging tail. BPIS and BMPIS

2nd Meaker, Alisma Alivia at Meakwood 8 ½ month old blue roan, Lovely head with a good stop and low set ears. Nice length of neck into well laid shoulders. Good fore-chest and return of upper arm. Well off for bone with a big spring of ribs. Level firm topline, good width through loin. Good tail set. Moved with drive. Lovely presentation of coat. 

Class 3- Puppy Dog (1,0) 

1st Saunders, Aylesmead Just The Tikkit at Oxfordogs 10 ½ month old blue roan, Masculine head with square muzzle and low set ears. Moderate length of neck into good shoulder, chest is developing well. Good round bone, straight front legs. Good spring of rib, short firm loin into well rounded hind quarters. Short below hock. Moved straight away and back and used his tail all the way showing his happy character. 

Class 4- Puppy Bitch (3,1) 

1st Hill, Clavaire Orange Rose with Princehill 9 month old orange and white, Sweet head with a good stop, moderate neck into well laid shoulder. Well developed chest, front legs straight and good bone. Level firm topline, has good spring of rib. Good tail set. Good turn of stifle giving angulation behind and short below hock. Beautifully presented coat. 

2nd Drake, Lararth Juliet Bravo 8 month old blue roan, balanced head, square muzzle and low set ears. Tight eye rims. Neck of moderate length into good lay of shoulder. Chest developing and good return of forearm. Ample ribs, short loin with a slight slope through croup to well placed tail. Well turned stifle giving good angulation through hindquarters. Still in puppy coat and needs to settle on the move. 

Class 5- Junior Dog or Bitch (4,1) 

1st Whiting, Annilann Miss Woopsi Poopsi JW 16 month old blue roan bitch. Head of good proportions with a sweet expression, low set ears. Muscular neck of moderate length. Well developed chest, good return of forearm, straight front legs with neat feet. Deep through brisket, well muscled round hindquarters. Level topline with good tail set. 

 2nd Furzer, Lochellan Dunn’s River Blue 14 month old blue roan bitch. A compact bitch who presents a square overall picture. Nice head with tight eye rims, clean throat, good reach of neck, ribs well sprung, well turned stifle giving good angulation behind. Nice width through thigh. Happy on the move and presented in immaculate coat. 

Class 6- Yearling Dog or Bitch (3,2) 

1st Tomlinson, Milalder Breeze of Grace Well constructed 21 month old black and white bitch, she has a square muzzle and low set ears. Strong neck of moderate length flowing to well laid shoulder, big spring of rib, good bone, level strong topline. Slight slope through croup to well placed tail. Good angulation behind. Moved out straight fore and aft. A little lacking in coat which affected the overall picture. 

Class 7- Maiden Dog or Bitch (1,0) 

1st Saunders, Aylesmead Just The Tikkit at Oxfordogs

Class 10- Graduate Dog or Bitch (4,1) 

1st Ray and Challands, Annilann Mister Ploppins JW, 16 month old blue roan dog, good sized dog with a lovely front. Masculine head which is balanced with good stop and tight eye rims. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulder and return of forearm. Well developed chest and deep brisket, good spring of rib, level top line to slight slope of croup to a well placed tail. 

2nd Tomlinson, Milalder Dreaming On A Star Square compact 5 year old blue roan bitch, balanced head, well chiselled with square muzzle. Lovely neck into good shoulder. Good return of forearm with straight fore legs of good bone. Plenty chest, deep brisket, short wide loin, short below hocks helping her drive round ring using her tail well. Just losing her top line on occasion on the move.

 Class 11- PostGraduate Dog or Bitch (3,2) 

1st Kezourec, Wilmerella Fantasy At Belcroute 3 year old blue roan bitch, substantial girl with good bone. She has a square muzzle, low set ears and a sweet expression. Muscular neck of moderate length. Well sprung rib, with good fore-chest. Neat tight feet and short below hock. Moved out using her tail. Presented in good coat. 

Class 12- Veteran Dog or Bitch (4,0) 

1st Driver, Annilann Miss Magicstar at Beckaby A 7 ½ year old blue roan bitch. Lovey balanced head with good proportions, well chiselled, square muzzle and soft expression. Neck of moderate length into well laid shoulder. Compact, strong body with ample rib. Excels in chest and return of fore arm. Neat tight feet. Good turn of stifle giving angulation through hindquarters with width in thigh. Rounded hindquarters with a good tail set. She used her tail well moving round the ring. Presented in full coat. RBIS, BOS and BVIS 

2nd Davies, Trinant Celtic Cariad 7 ½ year old blue roan bitch, bigger frame than 1, balanced head with defined stop, square muzzle and low set lobular ears. Moderate length of neck, level top line, correctly set tail. Well off for bone, good forechest and good breadth to chest and hindquarters. Big spring of rib and deep through brisket. Moved OK. 

Class 13- Bred By Exhibitor Dog or Bitch (3,0) 

1st Leslie, Ferrersedge Shilling JW 2 ¾ year old light blue roan dog, Balanced, masculine head with low set ears, muscular neck flowing into a strong firm topline with slight slope through croup to a well placed tail. Good chest and return of upper arm. Straight front legs with nice tight feet. Good angulation through hindquarters with strong thighs and short rear pasterns.

Class 14- Not Bred By Exhibitor Dog or Bitch (6,0) 

1st Driver and Walker, Brackenjack Bit Of Allsorts at Beckaby 6 year old blue roan bitch presenting a compact overall picture. Head of good proportions with low set lobular ears and square muzzle. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, ribs well sprung with a short firm loin. Good width to bum and angulation to hind quarters. Short below hocks. Shown in beautiful coat. 

2nd Davies Mrs I, Mabelhope Melrose Miss of Peacevale 4 ½ year old liver roan bitch, Sweet head of correct proportions, defined stop and square muzzle. Low set ears and tight eye rims with correct colour of eyes to harmonise with coat colour. Strong neck flowing into well laid shoulder. Good return of upper arm and well developed chest with good breadth. Firm top line held level on the move with a good tail set. 

 Class 15- Special Beginners Dog or Bitch (7,1) 

1st Tomlinson, Milalder April Showers Compact and cobby 2 year old orange roan bitch, Nice head with tight eye rims, dark pigmentation and low set ears. Strong neck into well placed shoulders. Deep through brisket and good spring of rib. Short firm loin with well rounded hindquarters. Tail set on well. Good angulation through hind legs, short below hock. Nice tight feet. Moved with drive round ring. 

2nd Davies Mrs I, Ryallcourt Happy Dance of Peacevale 2 ½ year old Light blue roan bitch, beautiful head with a soft expression. Head of good proportion, square muzzle and low set lobular ears. Good reach of neck flowing into a strong level topline with slight slope through croup to well placed tail. Good return of upper arm and well sprung ribcage. Moved well with drive round ring. 

 Class 16- Special Open Dog or Bitch (3,0) 

1st Cox and Dewhurst, Ryallcourt Charm Of Unique to Suvern (AI) 2 year old black and white dog, This dog was show in lovely condition, producing a compact cobby picture. Masculine head with tight eye rims, low set lobular ears and square muzzle. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulder. Well developed chest with good width and plenty heart room. Excellent return of upper arm, with straight legs of good bone. Elbows tight to rib. Well sprung ribs and deep through brisket. Level top line with short firm loin. Nicely rounded bum and good tail set. Wide thigh and good angulation through hind legs, short rear pasterns. Happy on the move. Presented in beautiful coat. No hesitation to award him Best in Show 

2nd Leslie, Ferrersedge Farthing 2 ¾ year old orange roan bitch, Lovely head with defined stop, well chiselled skull. Tight eye rims and dark pigmentation. Low set lobular ears. Good reach of neck with well laid shoulder. Good return of fore arm. Well sprung ribcage. Level top line with slight slope through croup and a well set on tail. Slightly longer cast than 1. 

Class 17- Open Dog or Bitch (4,1) 

1st Kotanen, Yokotai Queen Of Chaos JW 3 year old quality blue roan bitch. Presenting a square cobby picture. Well proportioned head with defined stop and square muzzle. Good reach of neck set neatly into well laid shoulder. Straight front legs, good overall bone. Deep through body with well sprung ribcage. Good return of fore arm with plenty chest. Short strong loin, well turned stifle giving good angulation behind, nice width to thigh. Short below hocks. Considered for RBIS. 

2nd Whiting, Annilann Miss Scary Poppins JW Another quality blue roan bitch, 4 ½ year old. Balanced head with bright expression. Muscular neck of moderate length. Well developed chest, strong level top line, nice tight feet. Deep through body, good width to thigh. Round hind quarters. Short below hocks. Moved out well.
