I thoroughly enjoyed my judging appointment at Scottish Toy Dog Show and would like to thank the committee for their kind invitation and warm hospitality. I was delighted to judge Long Coat and Smooth Coat Chihuahuas and English Toy Terriers, along with Pomeranians, which I was pleased to take on at short notice following the withdrawal of the appointed judge. It was lovely to see several of my winners doing so well in the final competitions, with my Long Coat Chihuahua BOB taking Best in Show, Smooth Coat Chihuahua Best Puppy winning Best Puppy in Show and English Toy Terrier Veteran taking Best Veteran in Show. My Pomeranian BOB was awarded Best in Show 4 and my Smooth Coat Chihuahua BOB was also shortlisted for Best in Show. A lovely end to a very enjoyable day! Many thanks to all the exhibitors for their entries and for accepting my decisions so graciously. Finally, a special thank you to my excellent steward, John Gaskell, for his help and support throughout the day.

1. Sangster & Sangster's Kirlasidh Speed Bonnie Boat. 15-month-old dog fawn sable dog with a gorgeous head, dark expressive eyes, good length of muzzle and well-placed, flaring ears. A dainty and spirited youngster with a lovely saucy expression. Well angulated to front and rear. Moved well and carried his tail correctly.

2. Price's Bramver’s Remind Iris Of Kircyan (IMP JPN) (BPIB). 10-month-old fawn & white puppy dog. Lovely head with apple-domed skull, dark eyes and good muzzle length. Well angulated with level topline. Moved well holding his outline at all times. Presented a typical silhouette on the stand. Happy to award BPB & BPIB.

1. O’Neill's Ismirelle's Ready To Fight JW. 2-year-old blue fawn dog with a happy, outgoing temperament. Dark eyes and nose, moderately blunt muzzle and nicely domed skull. Well presented with plenty of soft coat. Well balanced. Moved well around the ring. Attentive to handler.

1. Sangster & Sangster's Ch Kirlasidh Young Pretender JW (BOB, Group 1). 4-year-old dog who caught my eye the moment he entered the ring. Dainty and full of character, with a lovely head, dark expressive eyes and good muzzle length. Excellent breed type with a good topline which he maintained on the move, well-set and carried tail, good size and neat feet. A delightful little dog who thoroughly deserved his place at the top of the breed. BD, BOB and I was delighted to see him go on to win Best in Show.

2. Symon's Bramerita Here's Trouble At Charabri (VW). 8½-year-old tricolour dog. Looking well for his age. Good breed type with large, well-flared ears which added to his expression. Good topline and well-set tail, which he carried correctly. Moved well, presenting a pleasing overall picture both standing and on the move. A lovely mature gentleman who was a pleasure to judge. BVD & BVIB

2. Joiner & Byrne's CH Jotolemar Dangerous Times With Dacatelo JW. 8-year-old fawn sable dog with a handsome head, well-domed skull and dark, expressive eyes. Good pigmentation and a moderately short muzzle, complemented by well-set ears with attractive fringing. Soundly constructed and presented to advantage by his young handler, who did a lovely job of showing him.

1. Silverstein's Bramerita Posy Of Violets At Silverchi. 14 month old fawn bitch. Ideal size and outline. Dainty and alert. Lovely head with dark eyes, correct scissor bite, well set ears with good fringing and a saucy expression. My notes say a sassy lady – loved her personality! Well angulated. Moved briskly with good tail carriage and firm topline. BB

2. O’neill's Ismirelle's Right Back At Ya JW. 2 year old fawn & white bitch. Small and compact with a lovely outline on the stand. Pretty head with large flaring ears, dark nose and moderately blunt muzzle. She moved well holding a level topline.

1. Silverstein's Bramerita If I Ain't Got You. 2 ½ year old fawn sable bitch. Presented a lovely silhouette on the stand. Attractive head with apple-domed skull, well set flaring ears with good fringing. Small and pretty. Dainty and alert. Well-plumed tail and good tail carriage at all times. Moved well.

2. Hunter's Jotolemar Ellie's Time JW. 5 year old fawn bitch. Lovely head with dark eyes, well pigmented nose, moderate muzzle length and saucy expression. Compact and dainty with good angles to front and rear. Good tail carriage and moved well.

1. Kerr's Silverchi Black Caviar From Rhinns. 9 month old black & tan puppy dog. Lovely head with apple-domed skull. Well set ears, correct bite, dark eyes and good muzzle length. Well laid shoulders and firm topline. Good tail carriage. Moved ok when settled. BPD

1. Hartley & Fahey's Zoomeera Stormbreaker. 16 month old Tricolour dog. A lovely example of the breed – small, dainty and full of character. Handsome head with saucy expression and large flared ears. Good tailset and carriage. Moved well with brisk forceful action holding a firm topline at all times.

1. Hartley & Fahey's Zoomeera Home And Dry JW (BOB). Almost 3 year old fawn dog. Very attractive head with apple-domed skull, large round dark eyes, dark nose and moderate muzzle length giving the desired saucy expression. Compact and dainty forming a pleasing silhouette on the stand. Well laid shoulders, level topline and well angulated to front and rear. He moved with positive brisk action. BD & BOB. Shortlisted for BIS.

2. Conway's Silverchi Tonight We Dance. 2 year old fawn dog. Small and compact. Masculine head with rounded skull, dark eyes and alert expression. Slightly arched neck leading to well laid shoulders. Firm topline and good angles to front and rear. Good tail carriage on the move. Moved well.

1. Kerr's Silverchi Charlie Chan From Rhinns (BVIB). 10 year old blue & white dog. Rounded skull, dark eyes, moderately short muzzle and well set ears. A happy character - spirited and lively. Firm level topline which he held on the move. Moved well fore and aft. BVD & BVIB

1. Silverstein's Silverchi Lavender Sparkle (BPIB, Puppy Group 1). 11 ½ month old blue fawn puppy bitch. Such a smart exhibit – alert, dainty and compact, she caught my eye immediately as she walked in the ring. Very pretty head with large flaring ears, dark eyes set well apart, moderate muzzle, correct scissor bite and apple-domed skull. Well laid shoulders, firm level topline, good angles and well set tail. Moved briskly with good reach and drive and tail carried correctly. A super example of the breed. BPB, BPIB, BB. Delighted to watch her take Best Puppy in Show.

1. Conway's Silverchi Magic Moment. 11 month old blue fawn sable puppy bitch. Dainty and compact. Pretty head with nicely rounded skull, good muzzle length and well set ears. Level topline which she held on the move. Good tail set and carriage. Nice size and shape.

1. Conway's Silverchi Dixie Darling. 2 ½ year old fawn sable bitch. Small and dainty. Very alert and attentive to handler. Attractive head with dark eyes set well apart, moderate muzzle, correct scissor bite, well set ears and nicely rounded skull. Well balanced with level topline which she held on the move. Moved with brisk action.

2. Hartley & Fahey's Zoomeera West End Girl JW. Almost 3 year old blue fawn bitch. Lovely size and shape. Pretty head with apple-domed skull, dark eyes and nose, good length of muzzle, correct bite and large flaring ears. Well angulated and held a level topline on the move. Very attentive to handler. Moved well.

1. Imrie's White Knight At Witchstone (BPIB). 10-month-old puppy dog with a lovely wedge-shaped head, correctly showing the desired candle-flame ear shape, with ears pointing forward. Medium-sized, obliquely set eyes giving a keen, alert expression. Compact body with slight rise over the loin. Moved well in all directions. A lovely puppy. BPIB

1. Inch & Inch's Edalene Scoops Ahoy. 4-year-old bitch with a very pretty wedge-shaped head, slight stop, well-defined tan markings above her dark, expressive eyes, correct scissor bite and well placed candle-flame ears. Nicely tapered muzzle and clear, well-defined pencil markings on her toes. Well balanced and compact. Moved well.

1. Inch & Inch's Ch Edalene Court And Spark JW ShCEx OSW (BOB). 5-year-old bitch in super condition, presenting a lovely silhouette both standing and on the move. Correct candle-flame ears which she used to advantage, giving her an alert and attentive expression. An elegant, well balanced bitch with so many attractive features. She moved soundly with extended trotting action and drive from the rear. An outstanding exhibit. BOB

2. Imrie's CH Witchstone Black Hawk At Amalric JW. 8-year-old dog in great condition. Lovely wedge-shaped head with candle-flame ears that were well set and carried. Dark, sparkling eyes and a pleasing expression. Tan markings in the right places. Attentive to handler. Moved well all ways around the ring holding his outline.

1. Bennett & Bennett's Ch Witchstone Place Your Bets At Capledrae JW ShCex (OSW) VW (BVIB, Veteran Group 1). 8-year-old dog with a lovely head, still retaining rich tan markings. Dark, obliquely set eyes giving a keen expression and correctly shaped candle-flame ears, well set and carried. Straight front legs and good bend of stifle. A delightful veteran who is a credit to his owner. BVIB and went on to achieve BVIS.

2. Inch & Inch's Edalene Never Let Me Go VW. Another pleasing veteran with a pretty wedge-shaped head, flat skull, slight stop, well-set ears and lovely dark, sparkling eyes. Correctly tapering muzzle and a good scissor bite and strong teeth. Well angulated and a sound mover, showing herself to advantage and she moved with elegance around the ring.

1. Black & Black's Zaandam’s Serious Storm (BPIB). 8-month-old orange sable puppy dog. Compact and well-knit with a pleasing outline. Attractive foxy head with correct bite, small, well-placed ears and good black pigmentation. Presented in profuse coat, with straight forelegs, good angles and fine bone. Moved very well. BPD & BPIB

2. Wragg's Pindolandia Cosmo Of Floofyangels. 6-month-old orange sable puppy dog. Still very much a baby and understandably less mature than the winner. Pleasing dark eyes and small ears, giving an attractive foxy expression. Very attentive to his handler and moved well.

1. Nixon's Kazpom Don’t Let Go JW. 4-year-old orange dog of lovely size and shape, presenting a pleasing, compact outline. Vivacious and dainty. Attractive foxy head with dark eyes and good black pigmentation. Carrying a profuse coat which completed the picture. Moved well.

2. Ogilvie's Yoshe Best Buddy. 18-month-old orange dog, full of character and personality. Pleasing foxy head with small ears, medium size eyes, dark nose and correct scissor bite. Showed himself with enthusiasm and moved well once settled.

1. Nixon's Kazpom No Doubt JW. 4-year-old orange dog. Lovely head with flattish skull, foxy muzzle, dark medium sized eyes, correct scissor bite and small well-placed ears. Presented immaculately in profuse coat with a well-furnished tail carried correctly over his back. Short back, well angulated and fine boned. Presented a pleasing outline on the stand and moved freely with brisk action. BD

2. Carrigan's Poseyhill Sir Isaac Newton At Carripom JW, ShCex, OSW. 4-year-old orange sable dog. Lovely size and shape, with small ears, dark eyes, correct scissor bite and good black pigmentation. Well balanced with good angles to front and rear. Moved well. Not quite the tail furnishings of the winner.

1. Ogilvie's Pakov’s Midnight Gift (BVIB). 10-year-old black bitch of lovely size and shape, presenting a pleasing, compact outline. Alert and outgoing in temperament, with plenty of character and enthusiasm for her age. A great mover who covered the ground with ease, maintaining her shape on the move. A lovely veteran who was a pleasure to judge. BVIB

1. Black & Black's Zaandam’s Sweet Serenity. 8-month-old orange sable puppy bitch. Pretty foxy head, medium-dark eyes and small, well-set ears giving a pleasing expression. Compact in outline, carrying a profuse coat. Moved well, displaying a happy, outgoing temperament and plenty of confidence for her age. A promising youngster. BPB

103. Pomeranian J Bitch (2,0)

1. Carrigan's Energy Surge Crystal Edition At Carripom (IMP UKR) (BOB, Group 4). 1-year-old orange sable bitch of lovely size and shape, compact and well-knit in outline. Dainty and vivacious. Attractive foxy head with correct scissor bite, medium size dark eyes, small ears and slightly flat skull. Carrying a profuse coat which was beautifully presented. Brisk and buoyant movement – she was a joy to watch going round the ring. A super exhibit. BB, BOB and went on to BIS 4.

2. Black & Black's Klassna One In A Million Mit Zaandam. 14-month-old orange bitch full of character and personality. Pleasing foxy expression with small ears, dark eyes and a nicely tapered muzzle. Carrying a profuse coat. Level back and moved well. Not quite as compact as the winner but a lovely, outgoing youngster.

1. Hillan's Barselona Tai Lauras For Pawfectpoms. 2-year-old orange sable bitch. Beautifully presented and carrying a profuse coat. Attractive foxy head with nicely tapered muzzle, dark eyes and small ears giving a pleasing expression. Correct bite and a compact, well-knit outline. Moved well, presenting a lovely overall picture.

1. Black & Black's Verona Tai Lauras To Zaandam JW (IMP LTU). 3-year-old orange sable bitch. Pretty foxy head, small ears, medium-sized eyes and good black pigmentation. Lovely size and shape, presenting a compact, well-balanced outline. Carrying a profuse coat with a well-furnished tail which completed the picture. Moved well. 

2. Ogilvie's Yoshe Touch Of Charm. 4-year-old bitch. Attractive head with foxy outline and expression. Correct bite, flattish skull and small ears. Compact and short in outline with well-balanced proportions, fine bone and well set tail. Moved briskly around the ring, maintaining her shape on the move. A happy outgoing exhibit.
