Reading & District Premier Open Show – Wednesday 27th May 2026

Judge – Mrs Kelly Hampton Lee (Kelrick)

I would like to thank the Committee of Reading & District Kennel Association for the invitation to judge at their Premier Open Show, and my steward for keeping the ring in order. The weather was extremely hot, which made for a challenging day for both exhibitors and dogs, but everyone took sensible precautions to keep their exhibits comfortable and the day was enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone who entered under me and for accepting my decisions in such a sporting manner.

Bichon Frisé

P (1,0) 1. Dean’s Snowpups Sparkly Solitaire. 11-month-old bitch puppy. Nice size and shape. Correct scissor bite, well proportioned head with dark, expressive eyes and large black nose. Moved with good reach and drive maintaining a level topline and showing full pads. BPIB & RBOB

PG: (1,0) 1. Crawford’s Luka Songbird. 4-year-old dog. Friendly and outgoing. Slightly rounded skull, large eyes and black nose. Correct scissor bite. Well-developed forechest and deep brisket. Moved ok.

O: (2,1) 1. Marshall’s Blancazorte Never Say Never To Honeyvale. 2 ½-year-old bitch. Good size and shape. Good head proportions and good pigment. Dark eyes. Happy disposition. Level topline which she held on the move. Moved well. BOB

Lowchen (Little Lion Dog)

P (1,0) 1. Maguire’s Golbourne's Valentino. 7-month-old black & cream puppy dog. Very well behaved for his age and very attentive to his owner. Lovely head with dark eyes, correct scissor bite and fairly flat skull. Well angulated and moved beautifully around the ring. A lovely prospect. BPIB & BOB

PG (1,0) 1. McFarlane’s Glendyke Dancing On Ice. 19-month-old white bitch. Dark eyes, black nose, correct scissor bite. She was happy and lively, despite the hot conditions. Moved well and attentive to handler.

O (1,0) 1. McFarlane’s Kerryken Keir Rob ShCEx. 9 ½ year old black & cream dog. Handsome head with expressive eyes, correct dentition and black nose. Good topline which he held on the move. Lovely personality – happy, lively and affectionate. RBOB

Miniature Pinscher

O (1,0) 1. Billington’s Aquepins Agatha Raisin. 3-year-old black & tan bitch. A well balanced bitch with lovely character – very spirited and full of herself. Compact and square, with a pretty head and dark oval eyes. She moved beautifully around the ring with an air of self-possesion – a real showgirl! BOB

Papillon

P (1,1)

J (2,1) 1. Record’s Iotastar Spirit Of The Sea. 17-month-old dog. Beautifully presented with long fine silky coat. Lovely head with finely pointed muzzle, dark medium sized eyes, correct scissor bite and alert expression. Very large, well fringed ears which he used to good effect on the move. Moved well. BOB
