Thank you for such a lovely entry.

Temperaments were excellent although a few gave their handlers a hard time! A few general observations: several dogs had long nails, and a few were quite “out at elbow” and, sometimes, movement was hard to assess as the dogs were either continually shaking their heads or “crabbing” when walking up and down the mat.

I had some extremely challenging decisions to make, and I judged the dogs as I saw them on the day so, on another day, decisions could well have been different.

I was delighted to see my Standard Long Haired Puppy awarded Reserve Best Puppy in Show and my Standard Long Haired Veteran be awarded Best Veteran in Show under our BIS Judge Carole Worswick.

1. Clayton-Smith’s Cairparavel Hartnell

Good head, expression and reach of neck. Would prefer a bit more forechest with tighter elbows. Good length of ribbing and strong loin. Moved well holding his topline.

LD (1)

1. Sanders’ Knottsrose Olaf

Well presented upstanding young dog with excellent bone. Loved his reach of neck, good lay of shoulder and length of ribbing. Maybe a slightly higher tail set than I would like? Moved true keeping an excellent topline. Best Dog

Another real baby at just 6 months. Longer on the leg than 1 and needs to body up. A lovely outgoing puppy that needs time to develop.

A lovely well-proportioned 2 year old bitch. Good depth of chest and ribbed well back giving a very balanced picture especially when on the move.

LB (1)

1. Buxton’s Wyldetarn Ado

A well presented 3 year old bitch. Lovely head and expression, good length of ribbing and a strong loin. Just lacking in hind angulation which affected her topline and a bit high on the leg for me, but this did enable her to move with enthusiasm around the ring

OB (1)

1. Hutchings Ch Collidach Raynee Day JW

This bitch has the best of shoulders with tight elbows, excellent ribbing and well angulated hind quarters which were used to effect in her movement. A really lovely bitch who challenged hard for BOB. I just felt that the winner of JB had the edge on the day.
