Polish Lowland Sheepdog Club

The Polish Lowland Sheepdog Club Open Show 29th March 2026

My sincere thanks to the club for my invitation to judge at this friendly well run show. Without exception all of the dogs were well presented and of good temperament. All exhibitors were sporting in their acceptance of my placings and I look forward to watching the progress of some promising dogs in the future. The friendly well stocked buffet on completion of judging was a lovely touch for this welcoming club.

PD (3,2) 1 Naylor & Cudworth’s Skaijak’s Make N’Mayhem

Very promising 7-month-old male who presented a very typical profile on the stand and did not disappoint when going over him. Well put together for one of such a young age both on the stand and moving. He had typical head of equal proportions, correctly set dark eyes enhancing his expression. Good length to neck leading to well laid back shoulders and good length of body. He moved out well and was presented in good coat and condition. Although he stood alone, he was worthy winner of both the class and BPIS.

LD (2,0) 1 Crosiers’ Skaijaks Last N’Limitless

I judged this boy at an open show in January awarding him with BOB and G2 and my comments still apply. He is nicely sized with correct body proportions which give him a typical cobby appearance. His head is broad and with correct skull to muzzle proportions. Dark eyes finish his head piece. He has well laid back shoulders, with deep brisket and nice depth of chest. All wrapped up in a dense shaggy coat well presented. He was not the most confident of movers on the floor today but did enough to win the class, Reserve Best Dog and Reserve Best in Show.

2 Squires’ Mybeards Starstruck

Pleasing, compact type typical of the breed, presenting a balanced outline. He has a a nicely proportioned head with dark oval shaped eyes. Strong neck leading to good lay back of shoulder. Nice spring of rib with level back and broad loin. Nicely angulated rear matching the front. This boy would benefit from a little less weight as he was not as positive on the move as his angulation would suggest he should be.

O (3,2) 1 Warwick & Wilkins Ch Mybeards Cococabana

Chocolate, of super type and shape. I am not surprised to see he carries his title. Although on the smaller side he is still cobby and strong and masculine. Lovely head with dark eyes of correct shape that enhanced his head pattern and expression. Correct bite. Nice length of neck, being muscular leading to well laid back shoulders and good depth of chest. Well angulated rear. Level topline which he held on the move in a smooth gait. Shaggy harsh coat that was well presented finished off the overall picture. Delighted to award him Best Dog and Best in Show.

GCD (2,1)

1 Langey’s Mybeards Majestic

Very smart, alert exhibit, who being clipped off, has nothing to hide in shape. He has an appealing head of correct proportions with dark eyes of correct shape enhancing his lively expression. Good length of neck leading to well angulated shoulders and correct depth of chest with correct body to leg proportions. He moved out well and with confidence.

SBD (2,1)

1 Barlow’s Mybeards Dice

9-month-old boy who worked very well for his young handler. Lovely shape, compact in body, showing true breed type. Well presented with a coat of good texture and condition, enhancing the overall outline. Medium sized head in proportion to his body. Broad with well defined stop. Muscular neck leading to well laid back shoulders and good depth and spring or rib. Matching rear angulation. He moved out well on the move being attentive to his handler. All wrapped up in a good harsh coat well presented. Reserve Best Puppy and Best Special Beginner in Show.

JB (2,0) 1 Warwick & Wilkins Mybeards Sprinkle

Precocious 14-month-old girl of a lovely shape and type all over. Presented well on the stand with correct body proportions being rectangular in shape. Dark eyes with correct muzzle to skull proportions. Would like just a little more breadth of head but as she matures I am sure this will develop. Good layback of shoulder, correct body to leg proportions, level back and broad loin. Well angulated rear. She moved out with poise and confidence. Well presented coat looking very mature for her age. Best Bitch and Best Opposite Sex in Show.

2 Churchouse’s Mybeards Trickle

It was a very hard decision between this lovely girl and the winner, and she pushed hard all the way. No surprise to see they are litter sisters and much of the comments above apply. Lovely head with appealing expression enhanced by dark oval eyes. Correct bite. Good length of back, with level topline. Well angulated front and rear. Well presented coat, again one that looks mature for her age. She just gave a little away to her sister on the move today. I’m sure they will change positions often.

LB (1,0) 1 Carter’s Mybeards Majesty

Mature young lady of a larger type but still retaining femininity. Pleasing head pattern of correct proportions with dark eye giving a typical appealing expression. Good length of neck as well as being muscular leading to well laid back shoulders. Nicely shaped ribs of correct depth. Rear angulation matching. Moved out in a positive manner. Well presented, although her profuse coat could be detracting from her lovely shape.

OB (2,1) 1 Springthorpe’s Mybeards Countess Millthorpe

Chocolate girl, built on smaller lines, but with everything in proportion which gave her a typical profile on the stand. Strong head with a dark eye, dark pigment and correct proportions. Strength of neck leading to good layback of shoulder. Strong level topline and correct depth of chest. Nicely angulated rear. Moved out freely but not quite true out and back as her confirmation would suggest she should be. Nevertheless a lovely girl, pleased to award her Reserve Best Bitch.

VB (2,1) 1 Langley’s Ch Mybeards Frappuchino

9-year-old chocolate girl of a typical shape and type. Super dark eye enhanced her appealing expression. Nice breadth and depth of head leading to muscular neck. Front and rear of correct construction. Sound and true on the move, in a positive and typical manner.

GCB (3,2) Platts’ Mybeards Silhouette

Dark girl, another who in her clip showed a typical lovely shape. Kind eye with good head pattern leading to strong muscular neck and well laid back shoulders. Good depth of chest and correct loin. Even at 10-years-of-age she held her level topline on the move. Positive movement.
