I’d like to thank all the committee and members of Western Staffordshire Bull Terrier Society for giving me the honour to judge their open show, its apparent each committee member give it their all to maintain a warm welcoming atmosphere and a very well run show. Thankyou also for the wonderful gift on the day. I’d also like to extend my gratitude to my stewards on the day who ensured everything ran smoothly. My biggest thanks go to all the exhibitors that made the trip down, some from quite far away, I was truly humbled and privileged to examine your dogs

I am pleased to report that I witnessed no health concerns on the day, most exhibits were presented in fit gleaming condition which is pleasing to see,

1st Emery’s Casails Fight or Fall

Really like this young red and white lad, stood alone in his class but worthy of being in the line up, clean and balanced head shape, nice amount of muzzle length pronounced cheek bumps, dark eye, unexaggerated yet distinct stop and a cheeky expression, good dentition with large canines, correct neck length, defined balanced shoulders that are well laid back flowing into a good amount of width and fore chest and good brisket propped up with nice defined forearms, strong springing pasterns and tight feet accentuated by his white socks, nice amount of rib tapering off into a defined light loin with good tuck, nice amount of 1st and 2nd thigh that’s well-muscled and defined, correct rear angulation, spirited on the move and works his handler hard moves with real drive with parallel gait, his overall silhouette, conformation and balance of good muscular development whilst maintaining an athletic frame excites me and will be one to watch as he matures, pleased to award RBD

1st Thomas’s Biggleswick Mr Tom

Very tidy red lad, clean outline, dark eye, distinct but not exaggerated stop, well balanced head shape with a very attentive expression, dentition correct with good sized canines, neck short with good muscle definition of the withers, shoulders well laid back, pronounced fore chest and good strength of forearm, feet nice and tight, good amount of rib coming into a close coupled light loin, tail set well on the croup, correct rear angulation, really liked his rear and hind quarters showing a good amount of muscle which is clearly defined and hard to the touch, hocks held parallel, looked good stacked or free standing in the line, moved out well with drive and handled well.

2nd Hudson’s Fairlenium Iron King At Canisstaff

Brindle and white lad, stronger head shape than 1st, nice dark eye, ears set really well with a very commanding expression, shoulders laid back, plenty of width up front, broad forearms standing on strong pasterns, holds a level topline with plenty of rib and close coupled loin, tail set well, good angulation at the rear, plenty of muscle in the thigh, moves with purpose maintaining a level topline and driving from the rear, just preferred the overall balance of 1st today

1st Davies’s Ch Hasberrystaff Top Gun

Black Brindle lad with white chest and socks, not usually my style of Stafford but once I got my hands on him his virtues became undeniable, Strong, broad head shape but not too fleshy, decent muzzle length, pronounced cheeks, ears set really well and thin to the touch with a nice dark eye, this dog certainly commands your presence in the ring and he never took his eyes off me, dentition good, short broad neck flowing into balanced muscled shoulders which are rock hard, ample width up front with a brisket that meets the elbow well, which is propped up by well-defined forearms and strong pasterns, tight neat feet and well padded, good amount of rib which flows nicely into a close coupled light loin with a good tuck, topline level, correct rear angulation with firm well defined thighs, movement is free and effortless but with purpose, handled very well and presented in gleaming condition. Pleased to award BD.

2nd Robinson/Cox’s Hamason Sweet Little Mystry JW

Brindle and white pied, broad head shape, good length of muzzle, with dark eye and distinct stop, dentition good, neck short with shoulders laid back, plenty of width up front with a good fore chest, good amount of forearm and strong pasterns, topline level and a close coupled loin, rear angulation correct and ample thigh, liked this lads movement, plenty of drive maintaining a level topline with a parallel gait, unfortunate to meet 1st today

1st Rowe and South’s Illori Akinlana JW Sh.cm VW

Black Brindle senior gentleman but still possess plenty of spark, stood alone in his class, however fully deserved his spot in the line up, lovely balanced clean head, open nares, good length of muzzle, dark eye and a mischievous expression, defined rock hard balanced shoulders, ample width with good lift, good well defined forearms and strong pasterns with lovely neat feet, his side profile is nicely balanced and athletic in appearance, defined withers, ample rib flowing really nicely into a light loin and pronounced tuck, possess good amount of muscle to the thigh which is rock hard to touch with parallel hocks, moved out with purpose and drive making sure his presence was known at all times, thanks for bringing him.

1st Hirst & Bibby’s Taraiel Amazing Grace

Black Brindle, really smart puppy with a balanced construction, striking feminine head shape, dark eye, distinct stop ears set well and should develop perfectly, very attentive expression and clearly loves showing herself off, muzzle to head ratio is good, dentition good, ample width up front with good forearm, strong pasterns and neat feet, side profile is pleasing, topline level, rib is looking good with a close coupled light loin, tail set ok, correct rear angulation with muscular thighs which can be also admired when looking at her front on as well as the rear, good movement which should continue as she develops, presented in excellent condition, pleased to award BPB and BPIS, best of luck with her in the future.

2nd Brookes’s Bullbrothers Celtic Star

Red and white, unfortunate to meet 1st today, Clean head with good muzzle length, open nares, pronounced cheek bumps, dentition good, well developed shoulders with sufficient width up front, ample rib, topline ok, close coupled light loin with a good tuck, tail set good, rear angulation correct, movement ok and has time on her side to develop, handled well, all the best with her in the future.

1st Omalley’s Duffman Acromantula Atlomstaffs

Red and White puppy, this bitch made me smile when I saw her and I had a real soft spot for her. Strong yet clean feminine head shape, open nares, dentition correct, eyes as dark as coal, ears set well and should look perfect once the rest of her catches up with them, gorgeous expression, really pleasing front end with a pronounced fore chest and ample width up front, strong pasterns and the neatest of feet, ample rib, topline ok, close coupled light loin, good angulation at the rear with a good 1st thigh, hocks parallel, movement ok driving well from the rear but another one with time on her side to tighten everything up. Handled well and presented in good condition.

Red and White Pied, what a little fire cracker, striking feminine clean head shape, open nares, good muzzle to head ratio, dark eyes, beautiful expression with plenty of spark about her, dentition correct, ears set well, short neck flowing nicely into well-defined balanced shoulders, plenty of width up front, pronounced fore chest, good depth of brisket which meets the elbow, defined forearms propped on strong springing pasterns with neat well-padded feet, her silhouette viewed from the side is lovely and balanced, defined withers, level topline, sufficient rib which tapers off into a light close coupled loin with a pronounced tuck, tail set perfectly on the croup with excellent 1st and 2nd thigh which is well muscled, defined and hard, rear angulation correct, moves like she’s going into battle with plenty of drive and effortless stride maintaining a level topline and parallel gait, best movement on the day, pleased to award BB and BIS

Black and white pied, classical clean head shape, nice length and strength of muzzle, open nares, dark round eye, distinct stop with no exaggeration, pronounced cheek bumps and very attractive expression, dentition good, sufficient width up front with decent lift, defined forearms, strong pasterns well padded feet, really pleasing silhouette when viewed from the side, brisket meets the elbow well, amount of rib ok, level topline, good tuck going into a light loin, correct rear angulation, good proportions of thigh with parallel hocks, movement was good with plenty of drive and correct gait, presented very well.

Red with white on chest, nice feminine clean head with the right proportions, eyes dark and round, ears set well with a beautiful expression, dentition good, sufficient width up front with good amount of lift, another one with nice defined forearms, strong pasterns and neat feet, shoulders balanced and well laid back, topline level, ample rib tapering into a close coupled light loin, tail set good, correct rear angulation and moved well, close call with 1st today.

Red with white chest and socks, lovely clean head with good ratios, distinct stop and pronounced cheek bumps, dentition good, captivating expression, nice short neck with defined withers, balanced defined shoulders leading round into a good fore chest with ample width and good amount of brisket, nice defined forearms propped up with strong pasterns and neat well padded feet, ample rib with a level top line, tapering nicely into a close coupled light loin, tail set well on the croup with good muscle in the 1st and 2nd thigh, rear angulation correct, movement is good with drive and purpose from the rear, presented in fit, hard condition, credit to the owners.

Black brindle with white sock, really unfortunate to meet 1st today, striking feminine head shape that is clean, lovely dark eye with distinct stop, ears set perfect, dentition good, nicely balanced shoulders that are well laid back, sufficient width on the front with defined strong forearms propped up with strong springing pasterns and neat feet, topline level with good rib, light loin and tail set good, pleasing amount of muscle on the 1st thigh which is clearly defined, moved with purpose.

Black Brindle, balanced clean head shape with un exaggerated but distinct stop, good length of muzzle, lovely dark eye all combined to give a gorgeous expression, dentition good with large canines, balanced shoulders that are well laid back leading round into a good fore chest with plenty of width and good depth of brisket that meets the elbow well, good amount of lift with defined forearms and strong pasterns, her silhouette from the side is very pleasing, defined withers, level topline with a good amount of rib which tapers nicely into a close coupled light loin with defined tuck, envious top hind quarter that is pronounced and rock hard with tail set well, rear angulation correct with fantastic amount of muscle to the thighs, fantastic movement with plenty of drive and a parallel gait, pleased to award RBB and RBIS.

2nd Harkins Kamaristaff Royal Duchess

Black brindle, a very tidy bitch I have judged before as a puppy, nice clean head with good muzzle length, dark eye, distinct stop with a regal expression, dentition good, shoulders laid back with good width to the front, defined forearms and nice strong pasterns and neat feet, top line level with a good amount of rib which tapers nicely into a close coupled light loin with defined tuck, correct rear angulation with good amount of defined muscle in the thighs, moved out well and handled very well, very unfortunate to meet 1st today.

1st Rowe And South’s Ch Illori Believe In Me JW

A senior brindle lady who in my opinion could still pose a threat with the younger generation, Not sure on the relation to 1st Open Bitch but they share many of the same virtues, clean head, un exaggerated distinct stop, dark round eye and good ratio of head and muzzle all giving a gorgeous expression, dentition good, balanced well defined shoulders with plenty of width up front and pronounced fore chest, brisket set well, strong pasterns and the neatest of feet, side profile is very pleasing, athletic in appearance, with good rib and taper into a light loin with good tuck, tail set well on the croup with well-muscled and defined thighs that are of the correct angulation, lovely movement maintaining a level top line giving plenty of drive. Presented very well, Very pleased to award BVIS.

2nd Thomas’s Biggleswick She Devil

Red with white chest and socks, beautiful clean balanced feminine head shape with good ratios of head to muzzle, distinct stop, lovely round eyes, pronounced cheek bumps with a gorgeous expression now accentuated with a frosty beard, pleasing defined shoulders that are well laid back with strong forearms and neat feet, ample width and brisket, sufficient amount of rib with a level top line leading into a close coupled light loin with a good tuck, tail set well on the croup with correct rear angulation with good muscle to the thighs that are defined, good length of hock, moves out well maintaining good gait and drives from the rear, presented in fantastic condition, pushed 1st all the way.
