Many thanks to the Australian Terrier Club for their invitation to judge their open show. Whilst numbers may not be high, I thought the overall quality of exhibits high and some promising youngsters coming through. It was also good to see the camaraderie amongst the exhibitors and people who have the breed at heart. Many breeds would be envious of this, please continue your hard work.

BPD(1)

1. Jones Wyeafon Red Illusion. A smart youngster full of confidence. A well balanced outline for his age, with a correct level topline and well set on tail. Correct body proportions, coat is coming through well and enough substance for his age. Move out well and kept his topline and carried his tail with pride. Well angulated behind. Straight front with good bone. Pleasing head with a good erect ear.

JD (2,1)

1. Golby’s Bareve Relight My Fire at Shadymoore. Really good head with a flat skull and correctly set erect ear, correct size eye well set, balance proportions to the head. A defined a stop. Good front construction with lay of shoulder, good spring of rib and strong loin. Parallel movement both ways, would have liked a little more drive evident in profile movement. With a slight rise over the loin. Super harsh coat with correct ruff and coat texture on the head.

OD (3)

1. Dennis Cotarinn Diamond Dust over Yorcrechi. BD. I preferred this dogs length proportions to 2nd. Liked his breed type and qualities. I gather after judging that he gained his crowning CC on the day at National Terrier. Erect ear and used them to advantage flat skull with well set ear, defined stop and head proportions, pleasing small eye. Good neck with crest to it. Kept a level topline into a well made rear construction. Moved away with some drive. Coat could do with a little attention to create his best overall picture.

2. Lawler & Nottingham Ch Bareve Top Hat N’tails. RBD. A little shorter in the back. Super harsh coat and condition. Good red colour. Straight forearm with good bone and feet. Pleasing head with a flat skull and well set on erect ear. Nice alert eye and size. Good neck and shoulders with substance throughout. Tail well set on. Moved freely with good foot fall.

3. Webb’s Wifnbell Nite Owl

PB (1)

1. Bell’s Black Lace Come Fly With Me to Belyndi (Imp FIN). An alert youngster full of attitude. Moved with some drive both ways and kept a level topline in profile. A pleasing head well proportioned between nose to stop to the back of the flat skull. Well set erect ear, nice small eye and defined stop. Good neck with a crest to it, into a good lay of shoulder, straight forearm with good feet, plenty of substance throughout without being overdone. Super harsh body coat texture and a good rich Black and Tan.

JB (1)

1. Leveridge’s Bareve Play With Fire. RBB. Such a lovely disposition in the ring it was nice to see. Super feminine head and expression with a good eye and alert erect ear., well set on a flat skull. Good powerful neck into a well made forehand, good to see a full ruff. Plenty of substance through the well sprung rib and strong loin. Moved well both ways with correct positive footfall.

LB (4,1)

1. Leveridge’s Bareve Fire Cracker. Good head peace with alert ear which she used to advantage. Good body proportions with plenty of length to height. Well set on tail with a good topline. Plenty of substance with a good spring of rib and strong loin. Well made rear end with a good bend of stifle. Moved freely with some sprint.

2. Whincup’s Sureprime’s Zabina (Imp SWE). Unfortunately she’d left her coat behind today and hence lacked the finish of 1st. However an honest bitch and well made, with correct body proportions to height. With a good level topline and well set on tail. Good front construction with enough bone and feet. Powerful neck with a crest. Good parallel movement both ways. Pleasing head and well balanced, used her ears well.

3. Jones Wondereye Pink Sapphire at Wyeafon

OB (3)

1. McCourt’s Ch Silhill Angel Eyes. BB. I preferred this bitch’s overall balance and proportions. Maybe a little more work on the coat would benefit her, but overall I thought her a quality bitch with many attributes I liked. The coat had the correct texture. Super level topline and well set on tail. A well made rear end with a good bend of stifle and well let down. A well made front with enough bone and straight forearm and good feet. A lovely feminine head and expression with a good ear and eye, a defined stop and well balanced. Moved well enough and kept her topline in profile movement.

2. Nottingham & Arrowsmith’s Ch Ruarokatiro A Star Is Born. Another good bitch who was well presented, maybe just lacking a little coat in her mid drift. Good coat and texture with a rich colour to her. Powerful neck with a crest flowing into a level topline and well set on tail. Lovely feminine head, well balanced with a good eye and defined stop, super ear set and used them really well. Moved well enough both ways.

3. Vine & Hassell’s Bareve Absolutely Fabulous
