SOUTH EAST HOUND CLUB PREMIER OPEN SHOW

SUNDAY 6TH SEPTEMBER 2026

BREED: SALUKI

Many thanks to the Officers & Committee of the SEHC for inviting me to officiate at their show. This being my 2nd appointment I was thrilled with my entry, even though there were 3 absentees on the day. The ring was of good size, flat, and my 2 lady Stewards were fabulous – thankyou for your assistance. It was quite a long morning being the last in the ring and the sun was beating down at midday which did affect some Salukis. All in all, I had a lovely day with some very nice Salukis – all temperaments were fantastic. It was an honour to judge your dogs – Thank you for your support.

Post Graduate D/B – 4 Entries, 1 Absent

1st – Williams Mr CM & Mrs HV, SAFEERA KASAQUE AL DJIIBAAJAH (Imp DEU)

Black fringed red bitch, 20 months. What a little Poppet!! Lovely head and expression with far seeing eyes, correct dark eye, dentition, nice length to neck into moderate quarters front and rear. Lovely topline with slight rise to loin, filled in chest, good depth of brisket. Best cut-up on the day! Moderate bend of stifle, low hocks, correct feet and sound footed. Excelled on the move with correct stride, reach & drive, light flowing movement and kept her topline on the move, lovely profile all angles. Would love to see her on open ground! BOB So pleased to see her awarded BIS4 by Jill Cross (Gilari)

2nd – Martin Mrs V, SAVUKA SHAQUILLE FOR STALWART

Cream dog, 2 years. Slightly unsettled. Lovely head properties, dark far seeing eyes, good strong mouth, nice length of neck into well filled front quarters. Nicely bodied and good muscle tone. Needs to relax into himself which let him down on the day.

3rd – Ulyatt Dr MA, YAMADAN KN AIJAZ HAALIM (Imp USA)

Fawn dog, 18 months. Still a baby – needs to mature and body-up which will come with age. Moved well with his handler – happy youngster!

Limit D/B – 2 Entries

1st – Strong Mr M & Mrs J, XERXES OMAR TER DOLEN (Imp BEL)

Red male, 26 months. Very attractive head markings, masculine with a soft expression with far seeing eyes, strong muzzle, good dentition. Strong neck into well laid shoulders. Slightly heavier cast having plenty of heart & lung room within his ribs. Excellent muscle to 1st & 2nd thigh. Moderate bend of stifle, correct feet. Moved with a steady gait with reach & drive. Lovely condition – his coat gleamed in the sun. Another I would like to see on open ground. RBOB.

2nd Schafer Mrs A, TIN SOLDIER

Grizzle male 6 years, nice looking dog with lovely head properties, good mouth. Less bodied than 1 and longer cast. Slightly lacked lustre on the day, lovely coat condition and well presented.

Open Dog – 5 Entries, 2 Absent

The 1st and 2nd are well deserved males of Ch status – it was a privilege to go over such worthy examples of the breed. Both are a credit to their owners.

1st – Aldous Ms L & Glaister Mrs J, CH JAY JP SEA BIRD EL PANJSHER (Imp JPN) JW

Pale cream male, nearly 8 years. Attractive head properties, into long neck, well built shoulders and good fill in to chest. Lovely topline, nicely ribbed, strong loin, lovely croup and tail set. Lacked his sparkle today – possibly the heat.

2nd – Ulyatt Mrs PA & Dr MA, CH FERNLARK LEGEND OF CORNHAZE JW

Dark Silver grizzle male, 9 years, attractively marked, lovely expression. Everything in moderation. I did see light flowing movement – but another who lacked his lustre on the day – long day and too hot.

3rd Schafer Mrs A, TIN SOLDIER

Open Bitch – 3 Entries

1st – Williams Mr CM & Mrs HV, CH LUACHMHAR JADIRA KASAQUE

Black tri colour bitch, 5 ½ years. Pretty expression – reminded me of my own bitch. Nice long neck into well laid-back shoulders, correct front assembly with good fill-in to chest. Good bone, correct feet. Moved with light flowing action with reach & drive. Lovely profile.

2nd Hamilton Ms N, ARTILILY BRONTE

Irish marked Silver Grizzle, 26 months, very sweet, eye catching young bitch. Everything in moderation – maturing slowly. Correct light flowing movement with reach & drive. Would like to see her in 12 months’ time.

3rd Williams Mrs KH, TIGSISLE TOTALLY UNIQUE

Cream bitch 9 ½ years, who shows you can still do this when you’re nearly 10. A lovely honest example of stamina and function.

Special SEHC Open Racing/Lure Coursing – 3 repeat entries

1st Hamilton Ms N, ARTILILY BRONTE

Won on conformation and muscle tone – she had the best front and rear assembly in the class, balanced profile. Another I would like to see on open ground.

Younger than 1, just needs more substance and muscle which will come with age

3rd Schafer Mrs A, TIN SOLDIER
