Whippets

I very much enjoyed judging this lovely entry of Whippets. The ring was rather small, but the exhibits did their best to make the most of it overall. All had good temperaments and were well presented and handled. A very enjoyable appointment, thank you.

Puppy (3)

1st - Bowyer’s Crosscop Arabella. Lovely feminine young bitch of nice type and size who presented a lovely outline when settled. Balanced head with correct eye and expression. She was sound and precise up and back and moved out steadily holding shape. She has the correct amount of bone for her size. I thought her promising.

2nd - Kemp’s Saraquele Smooth Criminal. Very nice 6 month old brindle boy who presented a nice shape on the stand. Movement was difficult to assess as he was very unsettled but showed a lovely temperament and was sensitively handled to his advantage to gain this place.

3rd - Cooper’s Ballauren’s You Got It

Junior (4)

1st - Kemp’s Saraquele Smooth N Sassy. Litter sister to 2nd in puppy and another with lots of quality. Appeals greatly for type with correct bone. Feminine, well proportioned head giving correct expression. I liked her overall balance and shape, particularly good for just 6 months of age. Movement was very sound with drive. She was BP and a well deserved RBOB.

2nd - Cooper’s Ballauren’s You Got It. 10 months old girl, on a larger frame than my winners. She was very well handled to get the best of her, particularly on the move where she was sound in both directions. Head in proportion with her body with alert outlook. She held her topline better in this class than the puppy class to gain her deserved 2nd place.

3rd - Gore’s Silkridge Brighter Vision for Helsim

Post Graduate (3, 1 abs)

1st - Skinner’s Whitesquall Mionetto. Brindle girl with the most appealing of expressions. Appeals for type and size. At one with her handler she moved out well retaining her shape to win this class.

2nd - Bowyer’s Kipipiriking Jingle Bells. Another of nice size and presenting a pleasing outline on the stand. She was a little unsettled rushing into the ring and therefore not moving to her best advantage particularly in the hind.

Open (4, 1 abs)

1st - Blake’s Creme Anglaise’s Too Hot To Handle for Mazargo JW (Imp Nld). 18 month old bitch who is maturing nicely. Stands well over the ground with correct feet and slope of pastern. Presented in lovely body condition and handled to her advantage. The soundest of movement in both directions won her this class and BOB.

2nd - Cooper’s Crosscop Im Alwayz Yours at Ballauren. 2 year old bitch of nice size and type. Well proportioned body, presented a very nice outline. Appealing head and eye. She was handled to her advantage, showing good topline and underline. I felt the ring not to be to her best advantage on the move today.

3rd - Wilkinson’s Citycroft Starfall JW VW ShCEx OSW
