Chesterfield Canine Society

Chesterfield Canine Society Premier Open Show Saturday 2nd May 2026, held at Hillstown Village Hall, Bolsover.

A lovely venue with plenty of room for large outdoor rings. The sun shone all day, and many exhibitors brought gazebos and sunshades. The society had drawn a terrific entry, with well-filled classes.

Cloudside puppy dog stakes (33-20)

1. Irish Red & White Setter – Alanea Turning Tables into Danwish – Gardener – At just 6 months, a real baby in good order. Nicely developed for age with strong bones, keeping a racy appearance. A pleasing masculine head and clean, round eyes. Suitably laid shoulders down to slight spring at pasterns, finished with close-knit feet.

2. Whippet – Saraquele Smooth Criminal – Kemp – Another at just 6months. Smooth aquiline head with complementing eye colour. Flat skull and slight stop, long muscular neck nicely arched, neatly filled chest with sufficient width. Bladed bone and well-knuckled feet, which carried him around the ring with a steady daisy-cutting action. 3. OES – Starjenda Major Tom – Perkins 4. Retriever (Flat Coated) - Llantrussa Hawk at Karaholme - Tierling 5. Beddlington Terrier - Mickleview Fly High – Butler

Cloudside puppy bitch stakes (46-33)

1. Japanese Akita Inu – Seijisu Chizure - Bennett – Full of life, this young lady made her handler work hard. (Nothing that I don’t expect from one so young). She had ample bone to build on to good, tight feet that were round and nicely arched. Her head was clean with defined stop and almond-shaped eyes, complete pigmentation. Her neck was muscular and of moderate length. Her chest was well filled, although not to full depth yet. She has a bright future. 2. Whippet – Supetas Too Glam to give a dam - Mycroft & Spademan – This young lady is full of elegance and balance and could easily change places. Her head is typically feminine with clean lines and oval eyes, small, fine, rose-shaped ears, long, muscular neck. Her bladed bone is strong, with oval, well-knuckled feet. She excels on the move with a smooth, easy action. 3. Leonburger - Cassiusleo’s Rogues Riot - – Godfrey & Smithhurst 4. Dobermann – Aritaur Roulette Red – Boulton 5. Shih Tzu – Mapimakastar Naila Jol Tio – Skawska

Chanderhill Junior Dog Stakes (23-16)

1. Pointer - Corotine Velvet Tuxedo – Saunders & Newton – Pleasing black & white masculine male with slight dish to face. Clean eyes bright with a soft expression, framed by high set ears that were thin and medium length. Long neck with slight arch. Ample depth and width to chest giving ample heart room. On the move he was smooth and driving. 2.Retriever (Labrador) - Dylsonleigh Titan for Pattilands – Pattison – a substantial boy strongly built. He had a broad skull with defined stop and bright expressive eyes. Well boned throughout compete with excellent round feet. 3.Dachshund Mini Smooth - Tony Chocoloney – Lee-A-Ping 4. Afghan Hound – Cloudside Alpine Sunset with Carmento – Stainsby 5. Retriever (NSDT) – Deltanamba Go West – Gregory

Chanderhill Junior Bitch Stakes (27-18)

1. Japanese Shiba Inu – Vormund Million Reasons at Brackreef Naf Taf – Capps, Capps, Dunhill-Hall – A well-built girl in full coat, she had the required red spots above her eyes, cheeks and under jaw, forechest showing bow-tie. On the move she showed a light energetic gait. 2. Shetland Sheepdog – Kishdigra An Irish Blessing for Clairavelle (IKC) - Jackson – Lovely head of wedge shape and sweet expression from almond shaped eyes. Her ears set high, semi erect and tips falling forward. Her chest was deep and nicely sprung ribs. She had the necessary drive on the move. 3. Dachshund (Wire) Drakkina Dragon Song – Sirrell 4. Retriever (Golden) Carubelo Silver Promise for Rocamoka – Smith 5. Whippet – Ballauren’s You Got It – Cooper.

Goldenhicks Special Beginners Stakes

1.Rhodiesian Ridgeback – Shakina Bee Light in the Dark – Phillips – A good sized girl presenting a feminine outline of symmetry and strength. Pleasing feminine head with bright intelligent eyes, flat skull and defined stop. Ample length of muscular neck with well filled chest. On the move she was free and athletic. 2. Welsh Corgi (Pembroke) – Hortonpoint Blue Lagoon – Evans – this young man was strong and alert with an out going personality. A pleasing foxy shaped head with moderate stop. Level topline with a broad, deep chest and well sprung ribs. He was free on the move with a strong driving action. 3. Retriever (Golden) – Rockamoka Funky Business – Smith 4. Dachshund Mini Smooth - Tony Chocoloney – Lee-A-Ping 5. Shetland Sheepdog – Kishdigra An Irish Blessing for Clairevelle (IKC) – Jackson

Highashes Open Stakes (63-53)

1.Bracco Italiano - Bushwacker Don Juan JW – Pipes & Groves – Alert, powerful male. Almost square in outline with a deep broad chest. Powerful neck and cleanly set into shoulders. Well-muscled throughout with strong oval bone. He moved out with a powerful driving action at a good trot. 2. Hungarian Puli - Ch Kashbeluli There We Are Then JW ShCEx OSW – Cowley. A mature boy in pleasing show condition. Square in outline carrying a well corded coat of his adult mature years. He carried his tail tightly over his rump. 3. Samoyed – Rosnorske Royal Qui Gon at Glamyarn JW. 4. Retriever (Golden) – Rockamoka Funky Business – Smith 5. Tibetan Spaniel – Velrok Rining Gold JW – Collett

Champion Stakes (23- 19)

This class was full of quality and it’s of no detriment if your dog was place first or forth they are all worthy of their CHAMPION titles.

1.Hungarian Puli - Ch Kashbeluli There We Are Then JW ShCEx OSW – Cowley. A mature boy in pleasing show condition. Square in outline carrying a well corded coat of his adult mature years. He carried his tail tightly over his rump. 2. Ibizan Hound – Ch Abbotsoak Carosel JW ShCEx OSW – this veteran girl does not show her age at all. She is agile and dignified, finely build with large, erect ears to hear their prey. Her shoulders are set steeply with short blades and erect pasterns. This dog can easily clear a regular 6’ garden fence with ease. On the move she had a long reaching stride. 3. Chinese Crested – Ch Ynchreenoo Black Magic at Khatira ShCEx 4. Australian Shepherd – Ch Magical Love Elvikam JW OSW VW (Imp Pol) – Roberts
