Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington

I would like to thank the officers and committee, for their kind invitation to judge at this show. A pleasure to be able to judge outside, in a good-sized ring, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. A huge thank you to all the exhibitors for the pleasure of your lovely dogs, I really was knit picking on the placings.

Veteran Dog (2,1)

1. Mr & Mrs Smith - Ch/Multi Ch Winter Is Coming To Tentola

Upstanding and sturdy, but with masculine elegance, this 10 year old blue merle dog who showed himself off with style. I liked his workmanlike strength and balanced body ratios. Masculine head of good proportions, expressive almond eye and neatly tipped ears. Good length of neck leading to a well filled forechest, and he stands on straight, well boned limbs, though I would prefer a touch more strength in the pasterns. Well developed through the body and holding a firm topline. Lovely wide quarters with a good bend of stifle. He moved out well, using his quarters to advantage, though in the final challenge for BV he began to flag in the heat. RBD & BVD

Puppy Dog (2,0)

1. Miss Lusty - Blamorder Masterpiece

Very smart 11 month old blue merle dog, still a little raw at present, but showing all the essentials for future promise. He presents himself with natural confidence and aplomb, clearly enjoying his time in the ring. His expression is attentive, with a hint of youthful mischief that adds to his charm. Head developing well, balanced with level planes, a clean wedge and nicely tipped ears that he uses well. Neck of good length, flowing into a body that is beginning to fill his frame, holds a firm topline and a well carried tail. On the move he displays a lovely, easy, flowing side gait, just needs to tighten in front as he matures. BPD & BPIB

2. Mrs Young - Wynele Ace Of Spades

Just shy of his first birthday, this tri dog has much to commend him. He has a lovely outgoing personality and plenty of character. I liked his overall body proportions, balanced throughout, giving a pleasing outline. Masculine head, forming a blunt wedge with clean cheeks, slight stop and a dark almond shaped eye. Lengthy neck with a slight arch, flowing into a body that shows a decent fill of forechest for his age, and he holds a firm topline. On the move he was not quite as settled or the drive today of the winner, but he has the correct framework to tighten as he matures.

Repeat Puppy

2. Holmes & Lusty - Blamorder Starman

Sable dog coming up 18 months of age. A little more refined than the winner, but he presents a very pleasing outline when stood. His shape is balanced and unexaggerated, giving a clean, harmonious silhouette. Handsome head with good length of foreface, separated from a flat skull by a slight stop. Kind, dark almond shaped eye set slightly obliquely, contributing to a gentle yet attentive expression. Body that is just needing to finish and fill in forechest. Firm, well held topline. I liked his wide quarters, showing a good bend of stifle and low set hocks. Not quite as tidy on the move today as the winner, but he has the essentials and time is firmly on his side.

Limit Dog (2,1)

1. Mr & Mrs Metcalf - Koczkodan Well I Never

3 year old tri dog, slightly lighter in build all through, but presenting a clean and balanced outline. His head has good proportions, tapering nicely with a perceptible stop; almond shaped eye, just a shade lighter, but still expressive and well placed. Clean neck of good length flowing into a firm, level topline and a well set, well carried tail. I would prefer a little more tightness at the elbow, but he has a decent spring of rib. Wide, muscular quarters with a good bend of stifle and low set hocks. He didn’t quite settle fore and aft on the move today, but showed a good side gait, holding his outline

Open Dog (3,0)

1. Mr & Mrs Wensley - Ch/Int/ Multi Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive JW

Confident and outgoing tri dog, coming up 5 years of age. At full maturity and looking a picture on the stack. Not a big dog, but he has masculine refinement and is well put together, each part flowing into the next to give a balanced, cohesive outline. Blunt wedge shaped head with correct parallel planes, flat skull, well placed ears with the top third tipping, and dark almond eyes that miss nothing. Slightly crested neck leading to a nicely filled forechest, complemented by a good spring of rib. He holds a firm topline both stood and on the move. Strong, muscular hindquarters, which he put to good use to drive around the ring. DB & BOS going onto win BOS in Show – well done

2. Mr & Mrs Seager - Blamorder Magic Maker With Freejack JW

Impressive 3 year old sable dog. I initially thought he might be my winner, as he is a lovely size with just the right amount of substance, and he presents a flowing, balanced outline. Handsome head with a dark almond eye, well placed ears that tip neatly and are well used, giving him an alert and intelligent expression. Strong neck of good length leading into a firmly held topline. Brisket well down to the elbow, with a good ribcage and strong, wide hindquarters. He moved with purpose, holding his shape, but today he did not quite match the winner for that low, clean front action in profile. Thought him a quality dog with much to like.

3. Howard & Fort - Shulune Imperial Inkheart With Casatentola

Veteran Bitch (2,1)

1. Miss Benton - Ch Oakestelle Artemis ShCEx VW

So much to admire in this 9 year old blue merle bitch, who appears to have defied the ageing process. Utterly feminine, with beautiful poise and balance. When stood she presents a picture of unexaggerated, harmonious symmetry, nothing overdone, nothing out of place. She shows a lovely rapport with her handler, keen and alert throughout. Her head is a blunt wedge with just the right degree of feminine strength, dark almond eye and a slight stop. Clean neck of good length leading to a decent fill of forechest, good spring of rib and a firm, well held topline. Coat of good colour, though ideally, I would prefer a little less white on the body. On the move she was free and fluid, maintaining her outline with a pleasing tail carriage. Pleased to award her RBB & BVIB, later going onto win BVIS – congratulations

Junior Bitch (2,0)

1. Mr & Mrs Wensley - Blamorder Starstruck By Versatilis

Keen and alert sable bitch coming up 18 months of age. She has good overall substance and bone for her age and showed herself off to advantage, clearly enjoying her time in the ring. Balanced head with parallel planes and a flat skull, her dark almond eyes and well placed, neatly tipped ears combine to give a sweet, feminine expression. Good length of neck flowing into a body with a pleasing fill of forechest, and she keeps a level, well held topline both stood and on the move. She has strength in her rear, with wide quarters, a good bend of stifle and low set hocks, and she used this to power around the ring with enthusiasm.

2. Mrs Jerrett - Coldelee Busy Bein Fabulous

Pleasing silhouette on this 16 month old sable bitch. In profile she presents a shapely, flowing outline with attractive body lines and good overall balance. She has a pretty, feminine head, nicely proportioned with the desired blunt wedge shape; her dark almond eyes are correctly set and contribute to a sweet, gentle expression. Clean neck of good length, just needing to finish filling in forechest, though she already shows sufficient depth for her age. Well held topline and a correctly set and carried tail. Hindquarters have strength and width. Today she was not quite as tidy in front as the winner on the move, but driving from the rear

Open Bitch (5,1) Lovely class

1. Miss Benton - Ch Blamorder Double Or Quits Of Oakestelle JW

Super 2 year old blue merle bitch, full of quality and unmistakable breed type. She stands foursquare, presenting a clean, flowing outline. Feminine wedge shaped head with correct parallel planes, well placed and neatly tipped ears, and an almond shaped, toning eye that gives a keen, alert yet gentle expression. Brisket well let down with a good fill of forechest and nicely sprung ribs. Hindquarters are pleasing, showing width of thigh and a good bend of stifle. It is on the move that she truly shone, and a pleasure to watch. Her profile gait is effortless and ground covering, with a low, accurate footfall. Presented in a coat of good colour and texture. Delighted to award her BB & BOB, and to watch her later go onto win BIS - Congratulations

2. Mrs Jerrett - Ch Coldelee Eternal Sunshine JW

Lovely 4 year old sable bitch, very close up for top awards and so thoroughly feminine. She has a super outline, typical and harmonious in her proportions, presenting a clean, flowing silhouette. Quality head, forming a blunt wedge with dark, gentle eyes and nicely tipped ears that enhance her sweet expression. Good length of neck leading into a body with a decent fill of forechest, but felt that the winner just had a touch more width here. She holds a firm, level topline both stood and on the move, with a well set and well carried tail. I particularly liked her hammy quarters, wide, muscular and well developed, giving her strength behind. A tidy mover, maintaining her shape, though today she didn’t quite match the winner for fluid drive. Presented in a harsh textured jacket. Very much liked her.

3. Holmes & Lusty - Ch Blamorder Makers Mark JW

4. Miss Lusty - Am GCh Sugarnspice There Ain’t Not Getting Over Meep (Imp USA)
